Arsenal fans attacked in Lens with one left ‘lying in street’ ahead of Champions League game as UK cops launch probe
The incident is said to have occurred just before kick off in Lens and left one fan "lying in the street".
It's understood British football support officers are working with French police as they investigate the attack.
At least one fan reportedly needed medical attention at the scene, Sky News reports.
It's unclear whether any Arsenal supporters were taken to hospital.
French cops had earlier classed the Champions League game as "high-risk".
Nearly 1,800 Arsenal fans were expected to make the trip to Lens for Tuesday night’s match.
“Adapted security measures have been put in place for the match," the Pas-de-Calais Prefecture said before the game.
"Particular attention will be paid to gatherings in the town centre, as well as their trips in town and all the way to the stadium."

Manchester United investigating how Galatasaray fans had Old Trafford home tickets
As with all European fixtures, United had measures in place to try and stop away supporters from gaining access to home areas, including a ban on ticket sales to anyone with a Turkish address. At this stage, United believe that touting and sales through official channels to UK-based Galatasaray fans was the cause of the issue.

OM-Brighton fans clash in Marseille city centre on Wednesday evening
At the time of writing, there were no injuries and no arrests were reported. The supporters were dispersed by the police using tear gas.
They had initially gathered on the Cours Julien in the early evening. Between 200 and 300 Brighton and OM fans clashed in Marseille city centre on Wednesday evening ahead of their match at the Stade Velodrome on Thursday 5 October. On social networking sites, a number of users posted videos of the groups chasing each other through the streets amid the tear gas grenades that were used to disperse them.
So far, no one has been injured or arrested. However, some projectiles were thrown in the course of the evening. The police had preventively deployed a large force, including two companies of CRS, a departmental intervention company, the equestrian brigade and local units (BAC, BST, etc.). Shortly after midnight, most of the fans had returned to their accommodation.

Clashes between ultras from Siracusa and Acireale. Police in riot gear.
Madness at the end of the match between Siracusa and Acireale. There were clashes between fans and police in riot gear. The violence started in Via Torino and involved fans from both teams. Stones and sticks were used to damage parked cars. Several firecrackers were thrown. A member of the municipal police was taken to hospital. Scuffles continued in Via Antonello Da Messina and also affected part of Viale Teocrito. What happened rekindles the theme of the desirability of allowing visiting fans - especially those whose rivalry with Azzurri supporters is well known - to follow their team away from home. And it should not be without consequences. Just under 300 fans arrived from Acireale. A small, violent group were involved in clashes and brawls. Tension was already running high inside the stadium.

Newcastle and PSG fans fight and throw missiles as baton-wielding police try to intervene
PSG supporters were given a police escort to St James' Park and fighting soon broke out with Newcastle fans ahead of their Champions League clash. Anticipation has been building in the city of Newcastle with St James' Park hosting Champions League football for the first time since 2003.
Fans were lining the street hours before kick-off with pubs and around the ground filled to the brim. But trouble began to surface when PSG's ultras were given a police escort towards the stadium.
Bottles were being launched from each sets of supporters with police struggling to hold everyone back from causing a riot. A large police presence gathered outside the ground to try and prevent things escalating any further.
Specialist riot police were seen intervening to keep rowdy fans at bay with small fights occasionally breaking out.

Six Feyenoord fans have been arrested for disturbances inside the Metrpolitano during their clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.
3,000 Feyenoord fans were in the away section, but a number of the traveling support had bought tickets in the home end too, with some even paying up to €190 in order to secure VIP tickets.
It was there that the problems occurred, with Relevo reporting that five men between the ages of 20 and 52, and one 17-year-old, were arrested after the match by stadium police.
The incident reportedly began after Feyenoord fans started hitting an Atletico fan, and then began to throw tables and chairs.
“They started throwing chairs and tables at the normal people who were in that VIP box. A chair flew past my brother and the person next to him broke his nose with the chair.”
Various injuries were recorded, and one child was reportedly hurt too.
Both sides will nervously await the UEFA report on the matter. Feyenoord are clearly at risk of action for their fans, but Atletico too could face punishment, as the host side is responsible for security within the stadium.
There were also reports of an arranged fight between rival fan groups before the match, although this has not been confirmed by police.

France : PSG fined - 06/10/2023

PSG have been ordered to close the famous Auteuil stand for at least one match as a result of homophobic chants directed towards Marseille fans. The club, after pledging to "meet its partners on this vital issue" in late September, criticized the France FA's decision.
“Paris Saint-Germain deplores that the disciplinary committee has decided to apply an extraordinary sanction against the club by pronouncing the closure of the Auteuil stand for two matches, one of which will be suspended."

Legia Warsaw players released after arrests in Holland - 06/10/2023
Source : https://www.espn.co.uk/
Two Legia Warsaw players have been released after being detained for almost 24 hours in the Netherlands following a European game, the Polish club said Friday.
The players, Josué of Portugal and Radovan Pankov of Serbia, were taken off the team bus and detained Thursday after allegedly injuring a steward following a Europa Conference League match at AZ Alkmaar, which also saw scuffles between visiting supporters and police.
Legia Warsaw said on X, previously Twitter, that the two are "returning to Poland."
Earlier, Poland's government and football authorities protested the detentions and demanded explanations from Dutch authorities.
Dutch police said in a statement that, contrary to previous security agreements with their Polish counterparts and the club, Legia supporters had arrived to the game in a disorganized way and stormed the gates, injuring three police officers, one of whom lost consciousness. Powerful fireworks were found on some supporters, threatening security, the police said.
Some supporters grabbed batons and pepper gas from the police, and got in without tickets, the Dutch police statement said.

Ajax fans sentenced to 16 days in prison after violence against police - 06/10/2023
Source : https://nltimes.nl/
Four Ajax supporters were sentenced to 16 days in jail for their involvement in the riots that broke out last Sunday after the abandoned match against Feyenoord. One fan must serve a 15-day jail sentence, and another supporter of the football club was acquitted for lack of convincing evidence.
The sentences were significantly lower than the prosecution (OM) had demanded in the Amsterdam court. The OM demanded prison sentences of six or seven months, including two months of probation, as well as a five-year ban from the Johan Cruijff ArenA for all six supporters, De Telegraaf reported. However, the convicted Ajax supporters will be released on Monday because they have already been in custody for 12 and 13 days.
The six fans who faced the magistrate were suspected of violence against police officers. The convicted fans confessed to throwing stones or other objects at the police. They expressed their regret and said they had been under the influence of alcohol after the abandoned match.
They also said they acted out of emotion and frustration over their club's poor results. They will also have to perform up to 100 hours of community service and attend an alcohol course. Ajax imposed a one-and-a-half-year stadium ban on the four suspects with season tickets. One convicted fan without a season ticket is banned from the Johan Cruijff ArenA for a year.
One of the convicts, a 19-year-old stone thrower from Krommenie, came to some realizations during his time in custody, De Telegraaf reported. "I now see how serious what I did is and the impact it has on police officers," he said in court.
Reportedly, none of the convicts are from Amsterdam. The Ajax supporters, who are between 19 and 29 years old, live in Grootebroek, Krimpen aan den IJssel, Wervershoof, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, and Krommenie. The acquitted supporter, however, is 34 years old and lives in The Hague.
After the abandoned match with Feyenoord, hundreds of Ajax supporters stormed the main entrance of the Johan Cruijff ArenA and pelted the police. As a result, two officers were injured.
During the trial, the prosecutor read out statements from officers who felt they were in a war zone. The magistrate described the violence against the police as a very serious matter and hoped that the sentences imposed would have a deterrent effect.
