An internal police investigation into the policing of a soccer match in August in which a Greek fan was fatally stabbed in a clash between rival fans in August has found that six officers made a series of errors and omissions in relation to the incident.

Michalis Katsouris, 29, was fatally stabbed by unknown persons during an attack by Dinamo Zagreb football hooligans.

According to state broadcaster ERT, a high-ranking officer recommended that the six be disciplined with penalties ranging from a simple reprimand to cash fines, the lowest punishments provided for under police regulations.

The civil protection minister has a final say in whether the officers will be disciplined.

Four Zvezda fans needed hospital care after being attacked by hooligans in Bologna

Four Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade fans who traveled to Bologna on Friday for the Euroleague Round 4 game against home Virtus were attacked in that Italian city.

According to Sport Klub, one of the four fans has serious head injuries, a broken arm, and the other three have minor injuries all over their bodies. All of them are young men in their twenties and had come to Bologna from Belgrade, Nice and Vienna. As they were unable to find tickets, a few hours before the game, they decided to watch the match in a rented apartment not far from the PalaDozza arena.

The attack happened when they went to a nearby store to get food and drinks. They did not have any visible signs of the club on them. It's assumed that someone informed the hooligans about their presence.

After ten minutes in the shop, between 30 and 40 Roma hooligans awaited them on the street, and attacked them with clubs, belts, and even hammers. They were rescued by the local police who arrived at the scene.

After the game, Zvezda representatives found out about the incident, got involved, and offered all help to the injured fans, while the Italian police opened an investigation.

Vinícius Júnior praises Sevilla for ejecting fan for racial abuse

Vinícius Júnior praised Sevilla for acting quickly after the club ejected and reported a fan to authorities for racially abusing the Real Madrid forward during their 1-1 draw in LaLiga on Saturday.

Images showed a man making a racist gesture toward Vinícius after the Brazil international was involved in a confrontation with Sevilla players in the 86th minute at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.

Vinícius has been repeatedly targeted with racial slurs from opposition supporters, and gave evidence earlier this month in the trial of three Valencia fans accused of racially abusing him during a game in May.

Sevilla announced shortly after Saturday's match that "a member of the public was identified, ejected from the stadium and handed over to legal authorities" after the club had detected "xenophobic and racist behaviour."

Investigation underway after police officer hit in face with bottle at Derby game

We are investigating after a police officer was hit in the face with a bottle ahead of the LFC v EFC match at Anfield today, Saturday 21st October.

The officer was outside the ground when the bottle was thrown towards him at around 11.50am. He suffered a laceration to his face and was treated in the first aid room at the stadium. He has since retired from duty.

It has since emerged that at the same time a female supporter was also injured by a bottle.

CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and we are linking in with both clubs to identify the person or people responsible.
