Middlesbrough fan 'bottled' and three men arrested as unrest grows at West Ham's London Stadium
* Crowd unrest marred West Ham's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough * Three men arrested in connection with a disturbance outside the ground * Middlesbrough chairman's daughter tweeted about 'disgusting behaviour' * Two men arrested on suspicion of affray, third on suspicion of assaulting a police officer
Further unrest at the London Stadium on Saturday saw police brought in to separate supporters and West Ham fans accused of violence during their 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. West Ham avoided a fifth successive Premier League loss but again the game was overshadowed by trouble off the pitch, as Hammers fans sang: 'Stratford's a s***hole, I want to go home.' Slaven Bilic's side sit inside the relegation zone after only one win this season and their supporters made it clear that they are not happy with their new home.
Victoria Gibson, the daughter of Middlesbrough chairman Steve, spoke about 'disgusting behaviour' from West Ham fans and said an elderly man was 'bottled' during the match. She wrote on Twitter: 'Silly WH fan injuring one of ours. Disgusting behaviour. Our man, an elderly gentleman, was taken out of the ground as a result. Shocking.
'It's also unacceptable that some of my family and friends have been shut in the stadium while WH fans carry on outside. Terrifying.' Gibson was referring to reports that the trouble continued outside. When challenged about what happened inside, she replied: 'Sure. Cause an old man asked to be bottled. Have a day off.'
West Ham fans were told to sit down by stewards during the game but sang: 'We'll stand where we want.' Other songs heard inside the London Stadium were 'We should have stayed at the Boleyn' and 'We're treated like s***'. In the second half, police were brought into the away end and positioned between Middlesbrough and West Ham fans. Afterwards, Bilic was asked if he felt it was his job to make the London Stadium feel like home by winning. He said: 'Of course it is my job, our job, my team's job.'
A statement from the Metropolitan Police Service said: 'Following the match between West Ham and Middlesbrough on Saturday, 1 October three men have been arrested in connection with a disturbance outside the ground. 'Two men were arrested on suspicion of affray and the third was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. All three currently remain in custody pending further enquires. 'During the match officers were also deployed inside the stadium following a separate disturbance. The matter was quickly dealt with and no arrests were made. 'More than 40,000 people attended today's match, the vast majority of who were good natured, with only a small minority intent on causing disruption. There were no reported injuries following the disturbances and enquires continue.'
A West Ham United spokesperson said, 'West Ham United will investigate incidents involving both sets of supporters outside London Stadium after today's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. 'Metropolitan Police have confirmed that two men were arrested on suspicion of affray and the third was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. All three currently remain in custody pending further enquires. 'This behaviour has no place in football and West Ham United, with cooperation from all London Stadium stakeholders, including the police, Stadium Landlords E20 and Stadium Operators LS185, will continue to operate a zero tolerance policy on such incidents. 'We must stress that the vast majority of the more than 400,000 supporters who have attended a game at the Stadium since August have behaved impeccably, and we will not let the acts of mindless individuals tarnish their reputation.'

Police warn football fans before Swindon v Oxford match - 04/10/2016
Source : http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/
FOOTBALL fans are being warned by police that any anti-social behaviour at tonight’s derby match against Oxford will result in a swift and robust response from officers.
Wiltshire Police have said they will be deploying a dedicated team of officers around the town in a bid to deter any violent behaviour from fans.
Scores of supporters are expected to arrive at Swindon Railway Station from Oxford in time for the 7.45pm kick-off.
The warning comes after Thames Valley Police arrested six people after a minor disorder when Swindon Town last came face to face with Oxford United last month.
The build-up to the game was largely peaceful, and police said there were no significant issues.
But there were some minor scuffles near the complex after the game, as well as two incidents in the car park outside the Kassam Stadium.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Lucy Billen said three people were charged and three were given cautions for public order offences.
Last October four men were arrested after Swindon Town fans clashed with police in Botley Road before the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie, which Oxford won 2-0.
Wiltshire Police, who are keen to avoid any trouble on home turf, say they have plans in place to ensure the game goes ahead with minimal disruption.
A police spokesman said: “We are thoroughly prepared for this match in partnership with Swindon Town Football Club.
“In support of the football club staff, a dedicated policing operation will be in place in the area surrounding the club and town centre.
“We have plans in place to make sure there will be minimal disruption to the people of Swindon and the majority of fans who just want to watch the game.
“The message to anyone going to the match wanting to cause trouble is this: We will deal with any anti-social or disorderly behaviour with a swift and robust response.”

2 more teenagers arrested over attack on York City FC buses - 01/10/2016
Source : http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/
POLICE investigating an attack on two mini buses carrying York City fans following their game away to Barrow AFC on Saturday have now made a six arrests.
Three 15-year-old boys from the Barrow area have been arrested in the past wo days hours. They too have been bailed until a later date.
The attack is believed to have taken place shortly after 5pm in the A590 Walney Road, in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
Two men were taken to hospital with cuts to the head and face. They have since been discharged.
As well as the two 15-year-old boys, a man aged 22, another boy aged 15, and a 14-year-old boy, who are all from the Barrow area, have also been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.
Cumbria Constabulary chief inspector Dave Bosson said: "This was a cowardly and deplorable incident and we are urging anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information which may assist us to call in.
"Thankfully this type of behaviour is extremely rare, which makes it all the more shocking. I’m sure all football fans in the Barrow area and beyond will join me in saying this type of incident is indefensible and we will do everything possible to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions."
All five of those arrested have been bailed with conditions which include not entering an exclusion zone around Barrow AFC’s home ground, preventing them from attending any games while investigations are on-going.
The bail conditions also mean they cannot go into any licensed premises between 11am and 7pm on the day of a Saturday Barrow AFC home fixture or between 5pm and 11pm on the evening of a mid-week Barrow AFC home fixture. They are also precluded from associating with each other.
One mini bus that was attacked was from Tower Travel in York and the other was from Malc Collins Mini Coaches Ltd in Selby.
Mr Collins released three of the four pictures above to The Press on Sunday.
He said: "I'm not sure how close to the ground they were. All I know was they were heading away and were sort of ambushed.
"Obviously they [the offenders] must know the route police take the away fans out by, and it seems like it was a well-planned ambush from what I have been told."
Daniel Donnor, from Tower Travel, said: "It is utterly despicable behaviour.
"The coach was a carrying a group of people, including families.
"It happened about half a mile from the football ground. Half a brick and rubble was used to throw at the vehicle."
He added: "We have been carrying York City fans for about nine years and there's never been any trouble."
Tower Travel sent another mini bus to Barrow to pick up its passengers.
A club statement on Sunday from Barrow AFC said: “Immediately following the game with York City, there was a serious incident involving persons causing damage to a visiting supporters vehicle and resulting in significant personal injury.
"Barrow AFC have received a report from Cumbria Police and understand that two people have been arrested so far.
"There will be meetings between the police and club officials this week to review the situation, and will issue a joint statement at that time.
"Mindless acts of violence have no place in our community, and it is hoped that the continuing efforts of the club, the police, and the 99.999% of Barrow AFC supporters to provide a safe environment to allow all attendees to enjoy a special experience at Furness Building Society Stadium, will be embraced by the wider community as a whole.
"Barrow AFC apologises to those who have experienced distress from the actions of those who have no place in our football club, and wish a speedy and full recovery to those injured in any way.”
Anyone with any information about this incident is urged to call PC Rickie Wallbank at Cumbria Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number 189 of September 24, 2016 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
