PSG flies to the aid of its lovers. The day after its defeat in Dortmund in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League (2-1), the French club wished via a press release “to denounce the duration of the controls of the German border police against its fans moving in an organized manner “. On Tuesday, several buses carrying ultrasounds had been detained for hours at the border, so that all passengers were searched by the authorities. The president of the CUP, Romain Mabille, had mentioned on social networks a forced stop of “five hours”, and “unacceptable conditions” for the supporters.
“Severity” and duration of police operation pointed to
“The fact of retaining fans for more than five hours, thus making some of them arrive late at kick-off is not respectful for supporters who had left at two in the morning from Paris and who will also return by bus in the night after the match “, deplores the PSG, which points out fairly clearly the behavior of the police.
“The club wonders about the content, the quality and the relevance of the exchange of information between the French and German authorities which could have triggered the severity and the duration of this police operation,” he continues. disorganized this long journey of supporters by bus including the delivery of tickets to a place outside the stadium […] and did not allow the deployment of the tifo prepared and transported from Paris by the supporters of the club. ”
Espanyol fans jumped by 'yobs in hoodies' after Wolves Europa League win
Three Espanyol fans were attacked by a group of "scumbags" in Wolverhampton after the Spanish club's 4-0 loss at Molineux last night.
Two men in their 30s and a woman in her 40s were injured in the attack, which happened next to the old Canal Club near the Ring Road at around 10.30pm.
The Spanish supporters are believed to have been jumped by a group of teenage boys dressed in black hoodies, who ran off after leaving the woman with a badly-injured nose.
The victims were helped by passing Wolves and Espanyol fans before police arrived at the scene on the corner of Wednesfield Road and Ring Road St David's.
The incident happened around 90 minutes after a Diogo Jota hat-trick and Ruben Neves volley meant Wolves comfortably won the first-leg of the Europa League tie.
Molineux season ticket holder Kevin Rogers, 59 and from Wightwick, was among those who stopped to check on the injured supporters as he made his way to his car after the match.
He said: "We were concerned so walked up to them and could see a lady slumped on the floor and a group around her - a mix of Espanyol fans, Wolves and passers-by.
"They spoke really good English, the Spanish fans, and said a group of yobs - around age 15 - in black hoodies had attacked them, totally unprovoked.
"This 45-year-old lady had been attacked. The poor lady, she was traumatised. It was absolutely awful.
"I would be amazed if she hadn't broken her nose, they had just lashed out.
"Another guy had a graze under his eyeball from where he'd been hit. Then they had just ran off."
Mr Rogers, who attends matches home and away with his wife Lindsey, is the CEO of not-for-profit health cover provider Paycare and a trustee of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation.
"This was a family group - not a bunch of yobs," he said.
"They said they just wanted to come to the game for a party. The lady was so slight in build too. It's just horrendous.
"We are proud of our city but then there are scumbags that make us feel like this. It's awful."
A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed the force is investigating and asked anyone with information to contact the force via 101 or the police website quoting crime reference number 20WV/47245A/20.
Mr Rogers said a passing ambulance stopped and gave the woman a dressing for her nose but couldn't stop longer as a patient was on board.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics were sent to the scene but were stood down by police before they arrived.
Meanwhile a 24-year-old man from Spain arrested in the ground on suspicion of racially aggravated abuse remained in custody on Friday.

Borussia Dortmund supporters have been banned for the next two seasons from away games at Hoffenheim, the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed Friday.
The DFB has acted on a suspended sentence, initially imposed in November 2018 after Dortmund fans unfurled banners insulting Hoffenheim’s wealthy backer Dietmar Hopp, because more threatening behaviour was aimed at Hopp, 79, by away fans when the teams met in December.
“The activation of the suspended sentence means Dortmund will play all competitive matches in Hoffenheim next season and the one after next without away supporters,” said the DFB in a statement.
“In addition, Dortmund must compensate Hoffenheim for the loss of income caused by the lack of spectators in the away end.”
The DFB has also fined Dortmund €50,000 of which €17,000 can be used for safety and violence prevention measures.
