One man arrested for allegedly assaulting police officer at Boro's match with Leeds United
One man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer following Boro's match with Leeds United on Wednesday night.
A large police presence, drug search dogs and a police dispersal order were put in place outside the Riverside Stadium to prevent clashes between fans.
Cleveland Police thanked the "overwhelming majority" of fans who attended the game that Boro lost 1-0.
Although, there were a "minority of people intent on causing disorder" during the match, police said.
A 19-year-old man remained in police custody on Wednesday night.
Before the game, Leeds supporters arrived on coaches escorted by a blue-lighted police car.
Fans arriving into Middlesbrough railway station were also escorted to the Riverside by police.
Leeds supporters were held back after the game to avoid the clashes which marred last year's fixture that saw 12 people arrested .

Holland : ADO Den Haag hooligans gatecrash Alan Pardew's training to give team talk - 27/02/2020
Source : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Angry fans armed with a flipboard HIJACK his training session in front of stunned players to show why his tactics are wrong as club hurtles towards relegation
Alan Pardew's struggles at ADO Den Haag plunged to new depths this week when a group of angry supporters hijacked his training session in a bid to improve his tactics.
Angry fans descended onto the club's training base during a session and presented Pardew and his players with a flipboard in a bid to point out some of their errors in recent games.
Since winning his first game in charge, ADO Den Haag have lost two and drawn two of the following four games, leaving them six points clear of safety and four away from a relegation play-off.
Things have clearly become too much for the fans though and they took matters into their own hands by taking over training.
In a picture posted across social media, the fans can be seen leading a discussion with Pardew and his players.
There appears to be around a dozen supporters gathered in front of the squad with a flipboard in the background.
According to Football Orange, the incident passed without trouble with the coaching staff and players willing to listen to the fans' advice before the session continued as planned.
Following their recent struggles, Pardew has hit back against his critics and insisted his squad are united in their battle to avoid the drop.
'It is unfortunate and misleading that all this is being said,' he said, according to Tribal Football.

Wolves fans clash with Spanish police ahead of Espanyol match in Barcelona
Footage has been circulating online showing police officers with shields and helmets confronting Wolves supporters last night.
Thousands of Wolves supporters have travelled over to Barcelona where they have been enjoying the hospitality and singing Wolves chants throughout the city centre.
Some fans have criticised the policing as heavy handed and complained of being "beaten" and "dragged through the streets," while others said a small minority of Wolves fans had been fighting before officers arrived.
One video showed chairs being thrown towards police near where a man lay on the ground outside busy bars while another showed a man being hit with a baton as several officers restrained him.
Dave Randle, from Willenhall, is out in Barcelona with his godson and two friends, and said he'd "never seen anything like it".
The 50-year-old said: "It was totally unprovoked. Just barbaric.
"We were just having a few drinks in a bar off one of the main squares. At about 10.30pm it began to close so they gave us plastic glasses and we went outside.
"But then 10 police vans show up and riot police get out with shields.
"They pushed everyone into the corner of the square. People were getting beaten, dragged about and hit with batons.
"These were just innocent people. We were singing but that was it. It had been a good atmosphere. It does make me worry about going to the game tonight.
"Wolves fans started reacting though when police began beating people with riot sticks."
It is not yet known if any arrests have been made.

Remarkable scenes as Copenhagen player shoves a policeman over while celebrating vs Celtic
A policeman tried to prevent the Copenhagen players from getting too close to the fans while celebrating a goal tonight at Parkhead, and one player responded by simply shoving him over:
It’s not just a polite “can you step aside there please” it’s a full on shove to the floor. You can only imagine the carnage that would happen if a Celtic player or fan had been involved with the police in this way, so it will be interesting to see if any action is taken after this.

The legendary hard-line Lazio ultras group Irriducibili have announced they have disbanded after 33 years. “Too much blood, too many arrests.”
The announcement was made with a press statement by the group themselves, who were fixtures in the Curva Nord of the Stadio Olimpico for over three decades.
“As with all things in life, there is a beginning and, inevitably, an end,” read the statement.
“There is a time for everything, so the curtain closes sooner or later even on those fantastic, glorious stories.”
The reason given for the disbanding was the clampdown on violent, racist and anti-Semitic elements in the ultras movement, not to mention last year’s assassination of their former leader, known as Diabolik.
“Too much blood, too many banning orders, too many arrests. After 33 years, we have decided to disband the group. From today, there will be a new dawn for the Curva Nord. For the first time, only one banner will be present in the stands, behind which all the Lazio supporters will be gathered: Ultras Lazio.
“We have the same desire as ever, the same enthusiasm and adrenaline. A piece of our history is closed off. So many of us lost our liberty and even our lives for that banner.”

Scuffles break out as Leeds United fans 'paraded' after being caught in Hull City home end
There was uproar in the stands after a group of Leeds United supporters were moved away from Hull City fans in the East Stand in today’s Championship encounter.
Supporters claimed they were taken to join fellow Leeds fans in the North Stand rather than being kicked out.
Leeds fans had been chanting “we’ll sit where we want” before the match kicked off at 12.30pm despite warnings from Hull City that away fans found in home areas would be ejected.
One fan said the incident “nearly started a riot” as the Leeds fans were “paraded” in front of furious Hull City supporters and escorted into the away end.
Hull Live’s Hull City reporter Philip Buckingham tweeted: “Trouble in the East Stand as Leeds fans are escorted from a home section into the away end. Beyond me how that can be classed as sensible policing.”
The decision to move them into the away end was met by animosity from the home supporters, with one supporter claiming “at least one bottle had been thrown”.
Hull City issued a statement yesterday after identifying a number of travelling fans had purchased tickets for home areas of the KCOM Stadium.
The club said “any away fans identified in home areas of the stadium will be ejected”.
Many City supporters vented their anger and frustration on social media saying it was “an absolute disgrace” that stewards did not “kick them out” from the stadium as promised.
One fan said: “11 minutes in and 200 Leeds fans are moved from the West Stand and sat in the North away end. You’re an absolute disgrace Hull City.”
Before the match, Humberside Police said extra officers were on duty.
Gold Commander Superintendent Phil Ward said: “The fans will be looking forward to the match at the KCOM stadium today when Hull play Yorkshire rivals Leeds.
“As always, our presence as police in and around the ground will be to offer reassurance to the fans and to support the stadium management and stewards to prevent any possible trouble.
“We know that the majority of you coming to watch the match don’t want to see any violence or disorder, and anyone who does decide to get involved in this kind of behaviour will be swiftly dealt with so that the vast majority of fans are able to enjoy this fantastic, family occasion safely.”

Fans clash with police ahead of Brighton against Crystal Palace as one fan appears to be treated for a head injury as he lies on the pavement
Football fans were involved in violent clashes with police ahead of Crystal Palace's match at Brighton on Saturday.

The scuffle required the man to receive treatment on the pavement, with police attempting to keep the peace.
Despite being situated almost 50 miles apart from each other, the two clubs have a fierce rivalry - and tensions mounted ahead of kick-off.
The Premier League game was selected for television coverage, and a heavy police presence converged on the Amex Stadium to monitor crowds.

England : Burnley and Newcastle United fans fight with pool cues, glasses and bar furniture - 27/02/2020
Source : https://www.lancs.live/
An appeal is underway after a huge brawl broke out between Burnley FC and Newcastle United fans following a match in December.
An altercation occurred between the rival group of fans at around 4.25pm on Saturday December, 14, at the Turf Hotel on Yorkshire Street, Burnley, leading to some Newcastle supporters being ejected by door staff.
A short time later, a group of 20 - 25 Newcastle supporters returned and a huge fight broke out, with pool cues, glasses and bar furniture used as weapons.
One man was treated at hospital for an eye injury.
Now police want to speak to the two men pictured in the CCTV images in relation to their investigation.
PC Ross Bosdorff from Burnley Police said: “We know that the vast majority of football fans enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry and attend matches to have a good time, however, on this occasion, fans on both sides took it too far by fighting with each other.
“We need anyone who knows who was involved in the disorder, as well as the men pictured in the images, to make contact with us as soon as possible.”

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim - Bayern Munich - 29/02/2020
Source : https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com/
Bayern Munich’s largest ever win in Sinsheim was overshadowed by a contentious demonstration in the away end.
What transpired inside Sinsheim’s PreZero Arena on Saturday during Bayern Munich’s match against Hoffenheim was bizarre.
Crowd behavior has caused match stoppages during Bundesliga games before. But the sight of Bayern players protesting their fans’ actions by kicking the ball about for 20 minutes was unprecedented, as was that of Bayern executives descending onto the pitch to address the club’s traveling support directly.
But both of those events occurred on this Saturday, a leap day, after the Bayern fans displayed two banners and a flag calling Hoffenheim investor Dietmar Hopp a Hurensohn (son of a whore).
The match was instead overshadowed by provocative fan banners, multiple game stoppages, a 20-minute player protest, and Bayern players turning their backs on their own fans. At the end of the day, this leap-day game will go down as one of the most thrilling and contentious contests in German football history.

Police disappointment as Burnley fans clash in violent away day brawl
As Burnley took on Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon, Burnley FC Police officers were alerted to a small group of fans seen fighting and brawling in the street.
Posting on Twitter on Sunday, a spokesperson for the police said: "So disappointing yesterday.
"Once again this season a small group of men prefer to go to a game of football and look for violence.
"We won’t stand for it and neither will @BurnleyOfficial.
"I would like to point out that the other 2,200 (away supporters) were amazing as always."
The incident is the second time this season Clarets fans have been caught fighting while their team play against Newcastle.
On December 14, a large-scale fight between Burnley and Newcastle United fans broke out at the Turf Hotel on Yorkshire Street in Burnley.
And on Thursday, police made an appeal to find those involved.
Speaking about the incident in December, PC Ross Bosdorff said: “We know that the vast majority of football fans enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry and attend matches to have a good time, however, on this occasion, fans on both sides took it too far by fighting with each other.
