Apollon-Anorthosis match postponed after incidents
The game between Anorthosis and Apollon that was due to begin at 6pm on Sunday at Limassol’s Tsirion stadium, was postponed after fans entered the pitch and caused trouble before the match, the Cyprus News Agency reported.
It said the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) would make a ruling on the game after it decided the match could not go head safely.
“Following the decision of the referee, the match at Tsirion Stadium between Apollon and Anorthosis will not take place,” the CFA website said.
The chairman of Apollon, Nicos Kirzis said the referee informed the teams that the game could not start as police could not guarantee the safety of the fans or players in the wake of the incident on the pitch.
He said the Apollon should be awarded the win as his players had been injured by Anorthosis supporters.
An Anorthosis official said fans had been riled by gestures made by Apollon fans, some of whom then followed their rivals on to the pitch and tried to shield their own players.

Several fans were left bruised and bloodied with at least one requiring hospital treatment following the unprovoked attack at around midnight on Monday.
The thugs charged at the Chelsea fans, including women and the elderly, knocking them to the ground with kicks and punches.

Violence breaks out in Manchester before Manchester City meet Sevilla in Champions League as hooligans hurl chairs in city centre
This is the sickening moment when violence flared this afternoon before Manchester City's Champions League clash with Sevilla.
The shocking footage, taken from a vantage point above Sinclair's Oyster Bar in Manchester city centre, shows groups of men bombard each other with chairs and various other objects amid disturbing scenes.
Police confirmed that they were called to the scene shortly before 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
They arrested five men on suspicion of violent disorder, while one man was treated at the scene for a head injury.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that at least three of them were Polish football fans, rather than supporters of either Manchester City or Sevilla, while the man treated for a head injury was Spanish. He declined to speak to police.
It is understood that in all around 20 to 25 people were involved in the clashes.
Earlier in the day Sevilla fans had been spotted drinking peacefully in the city centre, and singing songs while locals looked on.
But when rival groups of supporters encountered each other the atmosphere turned nasty, with violence breaking out and a running battle taking place throughout the street.

Uefa set to investigate attack on black fans during Dynamo Kyiv v Chelsea - 21/10/2015
Source : http://www.theguardian.com
Uefa is set to investigate an attack on four black fans during Dynamo Kyiv’s 0-0 Champions League draw against Chelsea.
Footage of the incident obtained by the anti-discrimination network Fare, and passed to Uefa’s disciplinary body, appears to show a group of Dynamo fans attacking four black men after spotting them in a neighbouring section of seating. When the men, who were also supporting Dynamo, tried to escape, they appeared to be attacked by other fans in the stand.
Fare, which has raised the incident with local law enforcement agencies, said its observer also witnessed other home fans intervening to try to protect the victims. No police or stewards are visible on the footage, and the victims’ identity and condition is currently not known.
Uefa fined Dynamo €15,000 and ordered them to close part of their stadium in March after racist behaviour by fans towards Everton players during a Europa League game.
Piara Powar, executive director of Fare, told the Guardian: “This terrible incident reflects many of the continuing realities of football in central and Eastern Europe. A report has been made to Uefa, who have regulatory responsibility for the match, and we will be lobbying for the strongest sanctions.”
Uefa and Dynamo Kyiv have both been approached for comment.

Bayern Munich fans protest at Arsenal ticket cost
FC Bayern Worldwide, which revealed the protest last week, did not enter the Emirates for the first five minutes of the match which had a £64 ticket price.
There was applause by Gunners fans when the group eventually took their seats.
Bayern's fans also displayed a banner which read: "£64 a ticket. But without fans football is not worth a penny."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's side won the game 2-0.
"I will speak with Wenger for next time to make it cheaper for our fans," said Bayern boss Pep Guardiola.
"We will take care of Arsenal fans in Munich with a good price. They can travel."
A BBC Price of Football study, which analysed costs at 227 clubs across Britain and Europe, found that Arsenal have the most expensive match-day ticket in the Premier League at £97.
In contrast, Bayern Munich's cheapest season ticket in the Bundesliga is £140.
Earlier this month, the Football Supporters' Federation coordinated protests at all 20 Premier League clubs and 10 Championship teams, to call for a £20 cap on away ticket prices.

Tottenham fans hurt after Anderlecht hooligans launch Brussels bar attack
Eyewitnesses said around 50 Spurs supporters were drinking in a bar close to Brussels main station when more than 100 Anderlecht yobs steamed in and attacked them around midnight.
The terrifying attack happened ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash between the clubs.
A window and many beer glasses were smashed, and a number of tables and chairs inside the bar were broken in the mass brawl.
Fighting then spilled outside into the street where rivals fans battled each other for 20 minutes before police arrived.
The scenes in Belgium come less than 24 hours after footie fans were captured brawling ahead of Manchester City's Champions League clash with Seville last night.
The Sun saw an ambulance appear to take at least one Spurs supporter to hospital, while medics treated several others at the scene.
One middle-aged Tottenham fan, who was nursing a head wound and did not want to be named, said: “Spurs fans had been drinking in the bar all night. There had been no trouble at all. We were just having a drink and watching the football on the TV.
“Then suddenly it just all kicked off. It was carnage.
“We tried to stop the Anderlecht fans from getting into the pub to attack but there was just too many of them.
“They were kicking and punching people and throwing bricks and bottles – it was awful.
“I got hit on the head but thankfully it’s nothing too serious. There were several Spurs fans hurt a lot worse than me.
“The Anderlecht supporters were a disgrace. It was clearly a pre-meditated attack.
“Just before it happened one bloke noticed a few locals gathering across the square and talking on mobile phones.
“The Spurs fans attacked in the bar were not hooligans, they were just normal blokes enjoying a night out ahead of the football.”
The incident happened at Bar BQ, which is located in a quiet square close to Brussels main railway station.
A manager of one several hotels located there told The Sun: “Tottenham fans had been drinking there for most of the day and were no trouble at all.
“It was definitely the Anderlecht supporters who caused all the trouble. They turned up wanting a fight.”
Tottenham have sold all of their 1,300 ticket allocation for tonight’s match.
The North London club have experienced no trouble on their Europa League trips since their fans were attacked before matches in Rome and Lyon three years ago.
Belgian police are set to step up security for tonight’s clash in the wake of this latest clash.
There is a history of trouble between Tottenham and Anderlecht.
A Spurs fan was shot dead before the clubs’ UEFA Cup Final first leg between the clubs in Brussels back in 1984.
