Scotland - Poland - 08/10/2015

Source : http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/

Scotland fans hit out after 'thousands' of Poland supporters infiltrate home end at Hampden

FURIOUS Scotland fans last night demanded to know how hundreds of Polish fans got into the home end at Hampden .

The Poles’ presence was clear as they let off flares to celebrate when their team took the lead in the second minute .

And one Scots supporter, calling the Record from inside the ground, said: “Something’s went wrong with the ticket allocation – there must be thousands of Polish fans in the Scotland end.

“It all kicked off after Poland scored in two minutes.

“They were setting off flares and the Scotland fans weren’t happy about it but the stewards and police didn’t seem to be doing much.”

Police refused to comment last night.

Lithuania - England - 12/10/2015

Source : http://www.mirror.co.uk + mail

England fans involved in crowd trouble before final Euro 2016 qualifier with Lithuania

England's final Euro 2016 qualifier in Lithuania was preceded by crowd trouble inside the ground.

Scuffles broke out behind one of the goals just prior to kick-off, as the Three Lions look to make it a perfect 10 in qualifying.

Officially, 950 England fans were in the ground in Vilnius, but tickets for home sections of the stadium were on general sale prior to the match on Monday evening.

It is understood some England fans who travelled without tickets were in the ground, as Roy Hodgson's side concluded their qualifying campaign.

The skirmish, which was in one of the home sections, was quickly calmed by police who moved in.

Twenty arrests were made in Vilnius city centre on Sunday evening.

Wrexham AFC - Tranmere Rovers - 06/10/2015

Source : http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/

Football fan arrested for throwing 'sex toy' at Wrexham's Racecourse

A FOOTBALLER was required to spare his team’s blushes in more ways than one.

While keeping his Tranmere Rovers side in the game with a string of fine saves, goalkeeper Scott Davies saw the funny side when he picked up what looked suspiciously like a sex aid during the second-half of the 2-2 draw with Wrexham AFC.

The offending object had been thrown from the away end by Tranmere fans at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday night.

Craig said: “I was covering the game when I heard a thud.

“I saw what I thought was a carrot and thought ‘what sort of football fan would take a carrot to a game?’

“When I realised what it was, I thought crikey - that could have taken someone’s eye out or chipped a tooth.”

Following the game, Wrexham town centre inspector Paul Wycherley, of North Wales Police took to Twitter to confirm a male had been arrested “for throwing a missile onto the playing area.”

Assault arrest at Wrexham v Tranmere match

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of two assaults at Wrexham’s clash with Tranmere Rovers last night.

Inspector Paul Wycherley confirmed that a man had been arrested at the Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium for assaulting a steward, a police officer and making racist comments.

Insp Wycherley also took to Twitter earlier in the evening to announce a fan had been arrested for contravening a football banning order

Insp Wycherley added another man was arrested for throwing a missile onto the pitch.

An Arriva Trains Wales spokesman confirmed that no incidents had been reported on trains to Wrexham General Station before the match.

Melbourne football hooligans: Sniffer dogs to be unleashed to track offenders with flares - 08/10/2015

Source : http://www.heraldsun.com.au/

SNIFFER dogs will be unleashed inside Melbourne soccer stadiums to catch hooligans igniting flares.

A large increase in the use of flares at A-League matches in Melbourne and new evidence a delinquent element in the crowd is more than twice as bad as first thought has forced police to send in the hounds.

Figures obtained by the Herald Sun reveal there were 145 flares thrown at matches in Melbourne last season compared to 12 the previous year.

A Victoria Police probe into trouble makers in the terraces found most offenders were aged 18-25, often banned supporters or persons of interest to police.

Victoria Police Insp Geoff Colsell said investigators had found some people hiding flares inside Subway rolls or strapping them to their chests to beat security.

“I don’t want the flares coming in. But if the flares are coming in and going off inside the stadium anyway, I’m going to start putting the dogs in the aisles,’’ he said.

“So when they come through, dogs that have been trained to detect the flares will go and identify those people.’’

Separate figures show there were 12 people banned from A-League and Socceroos matches for five years last season for igniting flares and anti-social behaviour.

With the new A-League season kicking off this week, Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City, police and the FFA have teamed up in a bid to red card dangerous and illegal crowd behaviour.

Insp Colsell said sniffer dogs would be used in seating aisles at high-risk matches such as the Melbourne Derby, focusing on active areas behind the goals, “where the flares go off mostly’’.

A-League head Damien de Bohun said flares were now a greater problem outside stadiums but the large increase was “unacceptable’’.

“We will continue to impose bans on anyone found to have ignited a flare,’’ he said.

Insp Colsell said people throwing flares were not the true fans of the game. “From my point of view they must have some esteem problems because why would you go to a game and not enjoy watching it.’’

Football hooligans compare fighting to HEROIN in documentary highlighting darker side of the beautiful game - 14/10/2015

A 25-year-old reveals he got into anti-social behaviour aged NINE and hasn't looked back since

'Denny' and members of the Yam Yam army in a subway in Wolverhampton

A BBC documentary has highlighted the rising dangers of football hooliganism.

Those that thought the violence on the terraces died in the 80s or was just part of the film industry will be shocked to know that it is actually on the rise, according to BBC Three’s Football Fight Club 2.

In the programme, viewers met football hooligans who confessed to football violence being part of their lives as much as their jobs.

With violence breaking out inside the ground, on our streets and even fighting on our transport network, the programme revealed some shocking revelations.

Denny, 25 - part of a gang who align themselves with Wolverhampton Wanderers - revealed he started vandalising and expressing anti-social behaviour aged just nine.

With six clubs all within a 30m radius, east Wolverhampton is home to some of the most active football hooligans in the UK, and Denny is considered one of the ‘top boys’.

“Wolverhampton is a tough city, everyone knows,” he said, surrounded by a gang who concealed their identity.

“You come to Wolverhampton and you’re looking for trouble, you’re going to get it.”

The father-of-two Denny is a top boy at the Yam Yam army, who appeared with other members who discussed what it means to be part of a football youth firm.

He added: “People see us as straight scum bags but we have firefighters and teachers among us.”

One of his firm added: “We’re a pack, we’re a family unit.”

The film followed some of the most active youth football firms in the country, home and away, to see just how far the rules of football hooliganism have changed.

Watch above as Denny gets excited over taking on a European firm.

Uefa charges England and Lithuania over crowd trouble - 14/10/2015

Source : www.bbc.com

Uefa has charged the English and Lithuanian Football Associations over crowd disturbances at their Euro 2016 qualifier in Vilnius on Monday.

Riot police quelled skirmishes between rival fans behind one of the goals just before kick-off in England's 3-0 win.

An English FA statement said the incidents had not taken place in the area where fans who bought tickets from the FA were located.

The cases will be dealt with on Thursday, 22 October.

"We would encourage the authorities to identify anybody involved in disorder and deal with them appropriately through the criminal system and with banning orders," the English FA said.

"We will, of course, fully cooperate with Uefa."

When fighting broke out, local police quickly intervened to form a barrier between fans to prevent the violence escalating.

Some England fans appeared to have purchased tickets for sections of the ground designated for home supporters.

Lithuania's FA has also been charged by European football's governing body over breaches of ticketing rules and for having blocked stairways.

BBC Radio 5 live reporter Alan Green reported he had seen missiles being thrown by fans.

And BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty added there had been "a few brief skirmishes between rival fans at one end of this tiny stadium where some England fans have posted themselves near Lithuania supporters".

England won 3-0 with goals from Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, either side of an own goal from Lithuania keeper Giedrius Arlauskis.

The victory meant Roy Hodgson's side won all 10 of their qualifying matches for next summer's European Championship in France.

Marseille take rap for crowd trouble during Lyon match - 15/10/2015

Source : http://www.eurosport.co.uk

Olympique de Marseille have been punished for the crowd trouble that marred last month's Ligue 1 clash with Olympique Lyonnnais at their Velodrome stadium, French football's disciplinary authorities said on Thursday.

OM were fined 40,000 euros and ordered to shut the South stand for two games and the North stand for one game, with a suspended sentence of one game behind closed doors.

The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) issued the verdict over the Sept. 20 match, with the referee stopping play for 23 minutes after hooligans hurled glass bottles and other objects on to the pitch.

There were several incidents, including bottles being thrown on to the pitch, with France midfielder Mathieu Valbuena, once a favourite at OM but now playing for arch-rivals Lyon, drawing the wrath of the home fans.

For several minutes, a large inflatable Valbuena dummy was hung from a gallows in the stand. "You're a traitor," read a banner in the stands.

The presidents of both clubs also came in for criticism for caustic verbal exchanges in the media in the immediate aftermath of the trouble at the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

France will host the Euro 2016 finals with Marseille and Lyon staging games.

Croatian hooligans pay for damage caused in Paceville - 15/10/2015

Source : www.timesofmalta.com/

Six Croatian football hooligans who caused almost €6,000 worth of damage in a rampage in Paceville were handed a suspended sentence today after having paid for all the damage they caused.

Police were forced to employ tear gas against fans after they rioted following Paris Saint-Germain's 2-0 Ligue 1 win at Bastia on Saturday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic took his total tally as les Parisiens' top goal-scorer to 112 in 138 games with his brace at Stade Armand Cesari, but it was scenes outside the grounds afterwards that made the news.

Goal was on the scene as between 50 to 100 people rioted and caused extensive damage in the vicinity of Furiani, burning dustbins in the process and setting fire to a bank.

In a bid to restore order, nine police trucks were mobilised and the authorities had to resort to tear gas to disperse the crowd.

15 policemen were injured.
