As they were on the road to their away game in Dortmund, about fifty MSV Duisburg supporters, who stopped at the Essen train station, tried to confront local supporters who were also inside the stadium so police intervened to calm them down but was pelted with cans so they used pepper sprays against them.
Five supporters were identified by police and were later arrested in Dortmund, where other troubles broke out, opposing supporters from both sides at the end of the game.
One Duisburg supporter and one policeman were injured af their faces by missiles and another fan was bitted by a dog.
Then, on their way back home, police avoided any fights between these MSV fans and 250 migrants who manifested.
