Piebury Corner restaurant near Arsenal's ground attacked by Napoli hooligans
Shop was forced to close after dozens of thugs tore through the building, smashing windows, breaking chairs and swinging belts
pie shop near Arsenal's stadium was attacked by Napoli football hooligans tonight ahead of the Champions League clash. Piebury Corner was forced to close after dozens of thugs tore through the building smashing windows, breaking chairs and swinging belts. Around 50 customers were inside the premises, on Holloway Road, when a 30-strong mob of Napoli fans stormed in before kick-off The restaurant's owner Paul Campbell said the attack was "completely unprovoked". He said: "We have had Napoli fans inside all day today, they have been having a good time and not bothering anybody at all. They have been no problem. "Then we had a minority of them come in, being violent, picking up chairs and tables. "There were three girls sat near me and these thugs just came in and grabbed the chairs from under the girls. "It was completely unprovoked, I think they just picked us at random because they saw a busy restaurant and they wanted to fight someone - anyone." Mr Campbell said he had no reason to suspect any trouble from Napoli fans before kick-off. He said: "We are popular with home fans and the travelling European fans too. This just came from nowhere." Employee Emily Gould added: "I think they were Italian men with Napoli colours and scarves tied around their faces. "They were shouting something in Italian, chanting and causing trouble down the street. "Then then came in to the shop. I was terrified. They started swinging belts around. The customers were very frightened." Ms Gould said many of those already inside Piebury Corner ducked for cover as the rival fans entered. She said one man had to be taken to hospital with what she believed was a deep gash to the head after he was struck by a swinging belt buckle. "There is blood all over the floor," the employee said. "We have been told by police we cannot clear up yet because of the investigation. "There is a lot of damage to the shop. The tables and chairs are wrecked." The Metropolitan Police described the incident as "football-related". A spokesman said a man had been arrested in the area for a public order offence, unconnected to the damage at Piebury Corner. A man in his 40s was taken to Whittington Hospital in north London with cuts to his head. A London Ambulance Service spokesman said the man's injuries were not thought to be serious.

England : Four Blackburn Rovers supporters in court after last month's derby - 02/10/2013
Source : http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk
A BLACKBURN fan who smashed a stadium seat at Turf Moor when the home team scored has received a three-year football banning order.
Construction worker Matthew Clitheroe, who had been drinking, kicked the seat, picked up the broken part of the wood, ignored a steward and then started chanting, a court heard.
Clitheroe’s solicitor, Jasmine Basnyet, told Burnley magistrates: “It was an impassioned response to an impassioned match.”
Clitheroe, 27, of St Hubert’s Street, Great Harwood, was one of four Rovers supporters in court yesterday over incidents related to last month’s derby, and was the only one who was banned.
Chairman Graham Jagger said his actions had been ‘a reckless act in a volatile situation’.
Clitheroe admitted £80 damage on September 14, and was fined £265, with £85 costs, a £26.50 victim surcharge, and must pay £80 compensation to Burnley Football Club.
Other Blackburn fans before the bench were mother-of-five Kayleigh Wardingley, of Windermere Close, and her friend, Lindsey Feast, of Lawrence Street, both 25, and of Blackburn.
The two tried to sneak a ‘trophy’ damaged seat out of the ground, stuffed up Wardingley’s jacket. They were caught when a football intelligence officer spotted her walking out at an angle. Feast, who has two children and was in breach of a conditional discharge for battery, was fined £55, with a £20 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
Wardingley received a six-month conditional discharge, with a £15 victim surcharge and £40 costs. Both admitted theft of an £80 seat.
Lifelong Rovers fan Daniel Riley, 40, of Willows Lane, Accrington, was arrested after being abusive to a police officer. The courier was given a six-month conditional discharge, and must pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. He admitted using threatening, abusive, or insulting words, or behaviour.

Dinamo Zagreb fans arrested in Sofia after violence
Bulgarian police detained 45 fans of Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb for acts of violence before their team's Europa League match against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets on Thursday.
Police said in a statement that another 40 fans, who were not allowed to buy match tickets amid fears of hooliganism, have been sent home.
The Bulgarian authorities were warned this week by European soccer's governing body UEFA that hundreds of violent Dinamo fans, known as "Blue Bad Boys", were planning to travel to Sofia.
Ludogorets play Dinamo in a Group B match at the Vasil Levski national stadium, located in the centre of capital Sofia, because their 8,000-capacity Ludogorets Arena is not suitable for the Europa League's group stage matches.
Croatia's football association has been fined regularly in recent years for the bad behaviour of fans, who have chanted racist abuse and clashed with police at home and abroad.
Despite pledges by the authorities to curb the violence with stricter measures, little progress has been made.

4 Bulgarians Injured Prior to Dinamo Zagreb Clash
Four Bulgarian nationals have been seriously injured after ultras of Bulgarian CSKA football team mistook them for fans of Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb.
The accident occurred on Tuesday and the Bulgarians were taken to Sofia’s Pirogov hospital, with heavy injuries on their legs and hands.
The Bulgarian CSKA fans meant to go into a fight against the Croatian Dinamo fans but instead they ended up beating up heavily 4 Bulgarian students who resembled Croatians, tall and with blonde hair, Bulgarian newspaper “Standard daily” reported on Sunday.
Earlier in the week the Croatian Embassy confirmed the arrest of a large group of fans of Croatia's football team Dinamo Zagreb in downtown Sofia in the late afternoon Thursday.
The Croatian ultras are representatives of a group that is in bitter conflict with the management of the Croatian Football Club which barred them from attending its games because of serious disorderly conduct, vandalism and violence.
The total arrests were 45 – 22 were detained for football hooliganism, 21 for disobeying police orders and 2 for theft.
Meanwhile, another 40-50 fans were warned that they will not be allowed inside the stadium and they left back for Croatia.
A total of 70 Croatian fans of Dinamo Zagreb arrived in Sofia for the game. Local media report that none of the Croatian ultras managed to attend the game.
Dinamo Zagreb is known for his radical fans who often pose problems for police. They are part of the fraction Bad Blue Boys seen as some of the most dangerous ultras in Europe.
It was established in March 1986, their mascot is a bulldog, and their anthem is "I Love Dinamo!"
Meanwhile, later in the evening, the Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad earned their second straight win in this year's Europa League after beating Dinamo Zagreb 3:0.
No vandalism or violence was reported after the match.

Lazio ordered to play match behind closed doors by UEFA - 04/10/2013
Source : http://www1.skysports.com
Lazio will have to play a Europa League match behind closed doors because of further racist chanting by fans.
UEFA says the punishment is down to the fans' "racist behaviour" and displaying of an "inappropriate banner" when they hosted Legia Warsaw on 19 September.
The closed-door sanction will apply when Lazio play Apollon of Cyprus on 7 November, while UEFA says it also fined Lazio £34,000.
Lazio were repeatedly punished by UEFA last season over their fans' behaviour, including in the home and away ties against Tottenham.
UEFA forced the club to play their Europa League last-16 and quarter-final home ties against Stuttgart and Fenerbahce behind closed doors in March and April.
"The fight against racism is a high priority for UEFA," a UEFA statement read.
"The European governing body has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands.
"All forms of racist behaviour are considered serious offences against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions.
"Following the entry into force of the new disciplinary regulations on 1 June, the fight against racist conduct has been stepped up a level - resulting in more severe sanctions to deter any such behaviour."

Source : http://cyprus-mail.com
Five German football supporters attacked
FIVE supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt who were on the island for the team’s game against Apoel were attacked by unknown persons in Paphos early Saturday, authorities said.
The men’s taxi was stopped at 1.30am on Saturday by about six cars and the men were forced out of the taxi and beaten up, police said. Officers arrived on the scene but the attackers had left. Police say they have no further information on the attackers’ cars.
The Eintracht supporters, whose ages range from 25 to 27, had previously been asked to leave a Paphos pub because of their drunken behaviour.
They were taken to Paphos hospital but the staff there said the men were still drunk and two refused to be examined. One man cut the tendon on his left hand tendon and suffered a head injury, while another broke his nose. All five were kept in hospital and released later on Saturday.

Minor clashes but huge police presence in Exeter prevents major incidents at Plymouth game
Scores of police in Exetrer city centre prevented any serious disorder among fans in the Devon derby. A major police operation was launched to ensure the clash between Exeter City and arch rivals Plymouth Argyle passed largely peacefully. Around 1,200 Plymouth fans descended on Exeter for the lunchtime clash at St James's Park which the Grecians won 3-1. Plymouth fans arrived early, and there were heavy police numbers to meet them. At Exeter St David's Station dozens of police were present from around 9am to keep any rival fans intent on causing trouble apart. Plymouth fans arriving at the station were greeted with a wall of police to escort them to pubs and eventually to the ground. Supporters coaches from Plymouth were given a police escort to the ground ahead of the 1pm kick off. Mounted police patrolled the city centre and scores of officers were deployed near the ground. There were several outbreaks of violence as fans clashed near the Duke of York pub in Sidwell Street. And the police helicoptor monitored events from the air by flying low above the city centre throughout the day. But the operation has appeared to be a big success, with few major incidents reported.

Tottenham - West Ham United - 06/10/2013
Source : http://www.bbc.co.uk + Mail
Tottenham fans ignore warnings over 'offensive' chant
Thousands of Tottenham Hotspur fans have ignored a police warning not to use the word "Yid" in chants at a match against West Ham United.
Spurs supporters chanted "We'll sing what we want" and "Yid Army" at White Hart Lane, in north London.
Before the match, the Met Police warned fans using the term could be arrested. One fan was arrested at half-time.
Spurs have a strong Jewish following and have been the target of abuse from opposition fans.
However, some Spurs supporters use the term themselves in an act of defiance.
'Badge of honour'
Before the game, which West Ham won 3-0, match commander Ch Supt Mick Johnson said "racism and offensive language have no place in football".
A police spokesman said officers were speaking with fans on their way into the stadium about the issue.
The Met Police said one Tottenham fan had been arrested for a public order offence and was in custody at a north London police station.
The Football Association has warned supporters the use of such words could result in a banning order or criminal charges.
Last month, the chairman of the footballers' union, Clarke Carlisle, said fans should be banned for using the word, but Prime Minister David Cameron has said people should not be prosecuted unless it is used as an insult.
On Friday, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust said they believed no Spurs fan "uses the term 'yid' in an offensive or insulting way".
However, it said the distinction between the use of the term as a "badge of honour and a call to arms" and the "anti-Semitic abuse levelled at our fans by supporters of opposing teams, appears to have been dismissed by the FA and the Metropolitan Police".
Before the game, West Ham United also warned supporters that "unacceptable conduct" at the match could lead to fans being banned from attending games.

Riots broke out before and after the game. About 1.700 away fans made the trip for that game and some of them refused to respect police rules who wanted to escort them to the stadium so police was pelted with bottles, detonators and firecrackers. Several policemen were wounded and used horses to restore order.
After the game, Wolfsburg supporters from the north stand tried to reach Eintracht ones so troubles opposed them to police. Seven supporters were arrested.
