The two were part of a group of 13 people who were detained on Saturday. The suspects, who are in their 20s and early 30s, have been described as a mixture of ultra-right activists and hooligans.

France is on alert after the killing of a teenager this month inflamed political tensions in the country, with the hard-right describing the assault as "anti-white racism."

Seven of the suspects have been known to the authorities as ultra-right activists, and another three have already been involved in "similar acts" in the past, the public prosecutor's office said.

They are suspected of having spray-painted Nazi swastikas on the ground in the French capital's 17th district.

Apart from the swasticas, the group is suspected of spray-painting the inscription "KOB", a reference to the notorious Kop of Boulogne, Paris Saint-Germain's football ultras.

Newcastle fans attacked in Paris before Champions League match



Newcastle fans have been reportedly attacked in a bar in Paris ahead of their match against Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday.

There was footage on social media of a group of Newcastle fans in a bar being attacked with fireworks and flares as well as chairs being thrown.

More than 2,000 fans have travelled from the UK for Newcastle’s final away group game of their first Champions League campaign for two decades.

The Newcastle United Supporters’ Club had members inside the Café Seguin when the incident took place, and said: “Corcoran’s Boulogne was asked to shut at 10pm by the police. A group of Newcastle fans moved on to Café Seguin to continue the night.

“A group of around 30 PSG fans turned up, stood outside, threw a flare and chairs etc at the windows and doors.

“Nobody was majorly hurt and then they left. The advice is for everyone to stick together and look after each other.”

England: Bolton police arrest 'football fans' clashes after BWFC match - 30/11/2023

A dozen people have been arrested after a series of co-ordinated strikes in Bolton and Wigan this morning



The arrests come after serious disorder that followed the Bolton Wanderers-Wigan Athletic match on 19 August 2023 when around 50 people were involved in violence in Westhoughton.

Around 50 officers from Greater Manchester Police were involved this morning as more than a dozen addresses were targeted.

The 12 men aged between 16 and 58 are being questioned in custody having been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Seven people were arrested in Bolton and a further five in Wigan.

Superintendent Danny O'Neil, of GMP's Bolton district, said: "This was pre-planned disorder and innocent people were caught up in the violence.

"There is no place for this type of thuggery - people go to football matches to watch football, not to fight and cause trouble, and we want to ensure people can attend matches safely.

"The events of August overshadowed a well-planned, well-policed operation after a lot of work between GMP and the two clubs.

Legia Warsaw fans injure three police officers in ugly scenes at Villa Park

Legia Warsaw fans clashed with police outside Villa Park on Thursday night ahead of their Europa Conference League match against Aston Villa.

Legia supporters made their way towards Villa Park ahead of kick-off, but were met with a barrier and a wall of police officers wearing helmets with visors to protect themselves.

The fans appeared to grow frustrated and flares were let off as they were penned in by the police.

There were also worrying scenes as officers were seen helping a colleague who looked to have been injured amid the clash with fans.

Birmingham Police later released a statement on social media confirming three officers had been hurt as they urged the public to stay away from the area.

39 arrests outside Villa Park after 'disgusting and highly dangerous scenes'

39 people were arrested by West Midlands Police outside Villa Park last night after mass disorder erupted in 'disgusting and highly dangerous scenes.' Four police officers were injured, along with two police horses and two police dogs, as missiles including flares were thrown towards them.

Trouble flared ahead of the UEFA Europa Conference League match between Aston Villa and Legia Warsaw yesterday evening, Thursday, November 30. Serious disorder involving away fans is believed to have sparked when tickets were not distributed by Legia supporters outside the ground, which had been anticipated.

Four officers were injured - with one taken to hospital - along with two police horses and two police dogs. Thankfully their injuries are not believed to be serious. This led to away fans not being allowed into the stadium due to safety concerns and a significant number of arrests were made, police added.

There’s been discriminatory chanting in the stands, a team bus pelted with stones, a game called off because of crowd trouble, and precious few goals on the field.

The French soccer league is making headlines for all the wrong reasons this season. And now even the French government is calling for something to be done about it.

After 13 rounds of games this season, the number of incidents is worrying officials who have been dealing with an upsurge of violence in stadiums over the past two campaigns.

According to Interior minister Gerald Darmanin, more than 100 police officers were injured in soccer-related incidents last season, and 870 people were detained. And there is no sign of abatement.

Brighton fans hit by tear gas after police use it against AEK Athens thugs

After the game, Sussex Police said a number of AEK ultras attacked the Brighton end and supporters of the Premier League club were held in the stadium.

Meanwhile, police used tear gas and flash bangs in order to make the home fans disperse.

‘Unfortunately after the game some of the Athens ultras stayed in the stadium and started to attack the Brighton fans,’ Sussex Police football officer Darren Balkham said.

‘Tear gas was deployed against the ultras and unfortunately that’s wafted through to the stadium.

No one was injured in the attack, but windows and doors were broken. There were no arrests according to police.
