France : Saint-Étienne away support banned until end of the season - 20/01/2022
Source : https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/
As initially reported by L’Équipe, the French federation’s disciplinary commission has announced that Saint-Étienne’s fans will not be allowed to travel to away games until the end of the season.
The sanction comes following the crowd incidents that took place during Les Verts’ cup tie against Jura Sud at the start of January, as the match was interrupted for 20 minutes by Saint-Étienne ultras as flares and fireworks were thrown onto the pitch.
The measure will apply to all of the club’s matches until the end of the season, and is accompanied by a €50,000 fine.

Everton fans pelt Lucas Digne and Matty Cash with bottle and coins after Aston Villa goal
Aston Villa duo Lucas Digne and Matty Cash both hit the deck after they were struck by plastic bottles and coins while celebrating their side's opener at Everton. The visitors took the lead right on the stroke of the half-time whistle when Emiliano Buendia timed his run to perfection and headed home Digne's in-swinging corner.
Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford got a hand to the ball but couldn't keep the Argentine's glanced effort out.
But as Villa celebrated breaking the deadlock by the corner flag, the atmosphere in the stands turned toxic as objects rained down on Steven Gerrard's players.
A series of plastic bottles, coins and lighters were thrown from the crowd, hitting both Digne and Cash.
The two full-backs both went to ground in sync while clutching their heads.

Man City face FA probe as three fans hauled off pitch and others fight with police in stands during Southampton draw
Three pitch invaders had to be hauled to the ground by Saints stewards while fans were also captured grappling with security and police in the stands.
The St Mary’s club will investigate reports of at least one object being thrown and a flare was set off in the away end.
Saints will review CCTV footage and decide what further action needs taking.
At least one of the pitch invaders was apprehended by stewards and then apparently handed over to police.
It was an unsavoury ending to a compelling 1-1 draw — and it was not only fans who were involved in post-match confrontations.

Bosnia: NK Ljubuski - FK Sarajevo - Friendly match - 22/01/2022
Source : https://izdvojeno.ba/
Clashes during and after the friendly match between NK Ljubuški - FK Sarajevo, which was attended by nearly a hundred away fans. In the 53rd minute of the match some crew (most likely Škripari - Široki Brijeg) appeared in front of the stadium and started to destroy the Sarajevo's cars. So the "Horde Zla" (FK Sarajevo) rushed out of the stadium and started chasing the suspects, and at one point, someone even fired shots into the air from Kalashnikov. Several people were injured as a result of the clashes and 6 people were arrested.
It was not the end of "Horde Zla" adventures that day. On their return from the match, as they drove through Mostar, they clashed with the "Ultras Zrinjski". At least one person was injured, and it was an Ultras Mostar member who was hit by a car. After a short police chase, the car was stopped at a gas station with 3 FK Sarajevo fans inside.

KNIFE thrown on pitch as fans invade and confront rivals until heroic star prevents bloodshed in horrific scenes
A KNIFE was thrown on the pitch after crazed Sao Paulo fans invaded the field and confronted opposition players before being stopped by their own team's heroic stars on Saturday night.
Wild supporters ran onto the grass during their Under-20s side's 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras at the Arena Barueri in Sao Paulo and the ref was seen holding the lethal weapon aloft just seconds later.
The game was deep into second-half stoppage time when trouble started to spill onto the field.
Palmeiras were leading the São Paulo Junior Football Cup semi-final as a man jumped the barriers in the stands and made his way towards the players.
There was a confrontation with some of the Palmeiras team before several Sao Paulo stars intervened.
And then another Sao Paulo supporter came from the corner of the stadium before the No 9 from his own team was seen furiously gesturing at him to stop.
The man did no such thing and continued to advance as the player from his own side grabbed him around the waist and tried to drag him away.
And in very disturbing scenes, just seconds later the referee could be seen walking off the pitch holding a black dagger-style knife aloft.

Children leave ground 'in tears' as football hooligans cause chaos at Macclesfield FC match
Staff and volunteers were targets of verbal abuse from a “small selection” of football fans during a Macclesfield Town FC match.
During a fixture versus Charnock Richard FC on Saturday (January 22), drunken hooligans entered the field of play, and a number threw “mindless abuse” at workers.
According to a statement from owner Robert Smethurst and Robbie Savage, the abuse was so bad that the volunteers’ young children had to leave the grounds “in tears”.
Read more of the top stories from across Cheshire here.
They are asking the perpetrators to turn themselves in to face the consequences of their actions.
The statement posted on Facebook on January 22 said: “Further to this afternoon's NWCFL Premier Division fixture at Charnock Richard, we have been appalled and horrified at reports that several of our staff members and volunteers were verbally abused by a small section of our fanbase.
“Irrespective of what happens on the field of play, this behaviour can not and will not be tolerated.
“To hear that hard-working volunteers were abused to the extent that their young children left the ground in tears really does epitomise some of the mindless abuse these individuals think that they can get away with.
“Staff who work every hour of the day were mindlessly confronted in an abusive and aggressive manner.
“Also, fans who just wanted to support the team have today become victims of this pathetic wave of harassment.
“This stops and it stops now.”
The club said they have video footage of drunk football hooligans entering the field, which could have grave consequences for the club.
They are asking the perpetrators to get in contact with the club and confess, to visit the club today (January 23) between 12pm and 2pm to “explain their actions to senior members of the Club and members of our loyal fanbase”.
Otherwise, they will be dealt with “swiftly and appropriately”.
The statement continued: “Video evidence also shows seemingly intoxicated individuals entering the field of play and we don't need to tell you that this could have grave consequences for our Club as a whole.
“In short, despite the fact that the vast majority of fans got behind the lads incredibly and played a massive part in arguably one of our best away performances of the season, we have been let down yet again by people who have no place within our Football Club.
“We know who the main perpetrators are, as video evidence has highlighted this very clearly - so we are inviting all those who took part in this shameful behaviour to come into the Club between 12pm - 2pm tomorrow to explain their actions to senior members of the Club and members of our loyal fanbase.
“Should these individuals not make contact with the Club, then we will deal with them swiftly and appropriately.”
Prior to the Saturday afternoon match, the club released a statement addressing past behaviour from Macclesfield fans.
It said: “Despite the vast majority of supporters being a true credit to the Club, we have been let down by a small number of fans over recent weeks and need to stamp out behaviours that threaten to harm us all.
“In particular, the throwing of missiles from the crowd towards opposition players is something that is quite rightly abhorred by us all.
“This is totally unacceptable at any level of football and will lead to fines, our fans excluded from games and even points deductions should it continue.
“Not only that, this behaviour could cause injury to players and result in criminal charges against the perpetrators.

One of those injured in incidents with Xerez ultras flees hospital. Destruction and altercations near the Mosque of Cordoba after the arrival of a group of ultras from Xerez.
One of the injured in Sunday's brawl between Xerez ultras fled the hospital before being discharged, according to the BeSoccer.com newspaper. Specifically, the 26-year-old man left the emergency department of the Reina Sofía de Córdoba hospital without having received a medical discharge and after receiving initial health care.
It is in principle the only more seriously injured in a fight between about forty people in Torrijos street, near the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba. The young man received a violent blow to the head which caused an open wound. After receiving first aid, he left the hospital and his whereabouts are unknown.
Due to the fight, some businesses were damaged, including the Bandolero restaurant, where a window in the front door was smashed. Police sources said there were a few minor injuries. The national police did not make any arrests and say the brawl quickly dissipated.
The events unfold weeks after a group of Recreativo de Huelva ultras destroyed a bar in El Arenal ahead of a match with Córdoba B.
