England : Sheffield United and Wednesday fans admit brawl - 15/12/2013
Source : http://www.thestar.co.uk
Sixteen men and a teenage boy have admitted their part in a football-related brawl between rival Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday fans outside a city pub.
A number of people were injured and pub furniture was damaged during the fight outside The Bessemer, in Leopold Street in the city centre during the summer.
Police were alerted to the incident on Saturday, August 24, at about 7pm, and issued CCTV images of suspects they wanted to trace over the incident.
Detective Inspector Graham Bulmer said: “This incident took place in daylight on the streets of the city centre which caused fear and alarm among many innocent members of the public who witnessed the disorder.
“The fact 17 people have been convicted, and will be sentenced for their part in the incident, should send out a clear message to any football supporters that South Yorkshire Police takes any act of violence incredibly seriously and will robustly respond to any reports of football-related disorder.
“Thankfully, people intent on engaging in violence of this nature are the minority among many thousands of genuine football fans who enjoy supporting local clubs every week.”
The 17 hooligans all admitted public order offences and are due to be sentenced in January.
The men are Andrew Teasdale, aged 41, of Greenhead Lane; Connor Broadley, 18, of Deerlands Avenue; John Wood, 22, of Norfolk Park Avenue; Damian Jepson, 39, of Stanley Road; Sam Atkinson, 25, of Cookson Road; Simon Ignatowics, 48, of Sheldon Road; John Tomlinson, 25, of Woodhouse Road; Thomas Clews, 25, of Rainbow Way; Lewis Clews, 25, of Rainbow Way; Andrew Gilmour, 24, of Booker Way; Nigel Sizeland, 30, of Handsworth Road; Carl Murphy, 43, of Station Road; Connor O’Brien, 25, of Jubilee Road; Amien Jama, 46, of Birklands Avenue; Paul Mitchell, 50, of Middlewood Road and Jamie Fellows, 38, of Harborough Close, all of Sheffield.

Two sent off in Turkey for assaulting fan
Bizarre scenes in Turkey this evening saw two players sent off as players tried to restrain a pitch invader during Besiktas's match away at Kasimpasaspor.
The supporter ran onto the field at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium in the second period and appeared to trip up Beskitas midfielder Manuel Fernandes as the visitors mounted an attack.
The fan was hauled down by Kasimpasaspor defenders but a number of players from both sides became involved in the incident and both Ramon Motta and Hugo Almeida appeared to aim kicks at the defenceless gatecrasher.
The individual was then removed from the field of play by the authorities but the incident wasn’t over there, there as Motta was shown a straight red for his part, while Almeida shown a second yellow as the hosts held on to win the match 2-1.
The match had already seen controversy when Kasimpasaspor defender Ryan Donk stopped a Besiktas attack by throwing a second ball at the feet of Almedia when the Portugal striker was shaping to shoot.
Turkey has had a history of problems with crowd control, with 20 fans arrested for invading the pitch in the Super Lig match between Galatasaray and Besiktas back in September, while Bursaspor goalkeeper Harun Tekin traded punches with a fan back in April.

Argentina : Newell’s Old Boys - Lanús - 15/12/2013
Source : http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com
Two killed in Argentine football fan violence
Two fans of Argentina's Newell's Old Boys club were shot dead by a supporter of a rival football club after a match, police said Monday.
Besides the two Newell's fans, a 29-year-old woman and a nine-year-old girl traveling in the same vehicle were wounded in the hail of bullets fired from a motorcycle by the assailant, who was wearing a T-shirt of the Rosario Central club.
Two men aged 34 and 39 were killed, police said. Shortly before the shooting, the driver of the vehicle and the man on the motorcycle had been arguing as they drove along near Newell's stadium Sunday night after a match between Newell's and Lanus.
Newell's Old Boys and Rosario Central are the two main clubs in Rosario, a port city 300 kilometers (180 miles) from Buenos Aires.
Fan violence at Argentine football matches has grown so dangerous that authorities have banned fans from rival teams from games, restricting attendance to club members.
In 2013, nine people have lost their lives in violent confrontations between football fans, and in 2012 a dozen people were killed.

England : Football fans convicted after mass brawl in London - 16/12/2013
Source : http://www.suttonguardian.co.uk
Nine football hooligans have been convicted following a mass brawl between two sets of rival supporters.
Crystal Palace fans and Brighton and Hove Albion fans clashed outside King’s Cross Railway Station on November 10 2012.
Fans hurled glasses at each other along with bottles, sandwich boards and bollards.
Four men were convicted at Blackfriars Crown Court last week in the second of two trials relating to the disorder.
The brawl took place outside the Flying Scotsman, a pub and strip bar in Caledonian Road, where Palace fans were drinking after their team's win against Peterborough United earlier that day.
Metropolitan Police had deployed officers to Victoria station, where they anticipated trouble between Palace supporters and Brighton fans returning home from a match in Wolverhampton.
It meant just two officers were on-hand when the fight broke out in King's Cross, where the Brighton fans headed after leaving a train at Euston.
Jenny Hopkins, CPS London Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor, said: “This was a terrifying situation for members of the public who witnessed the violence.
“These men used the historic rivalry between their football clubs as an excuse for large-scale violence and disorder with no regard to members of the public nearby who were shocked and frightened by their behaviour.”
James Hackett, 21, of Norbury Avenue in Thornton Heath, and Robert Carl, 45, of Woodcote Road, Wallington, both pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
Adam Marshall, 23, of Aston Way in Epsom, Hayden Johnson, 20, of Jesmond Road in Addiscombe, Declan Clarke, 22, of Miles Road in Epsom and Dean Kirby, 29, from Newchapel were all found guilty of violent disorder.
Jamie Finch, of Epsom and James Butler, of Crawley were both acquitted of violent disorder. The jury failed to reach a verdict in regards to James Dean, of Worthing.
In an earlier trial, Richard Kepner and Philip Blackman were sentenced to more than a year in prison.
Paul Zammit was given a suspended sentence and 180 hours community work.

Myanmar - Indonesia - 16/12/2013

Fans riot after Myanmar exit as coach is sacked
Myanmar's defeat to Indonesia in the SEA Games men's football Group A match did not sit well with fans of the football-mad host nation.
The 1-0 loss left both teams level on points but as AFC rules call for head-to-head results to be used to determine standings, the Indonesians went through to the semi-finals, despite being behind on goal difference.
Coach Park Sung Wha was immediately shown the door following the result, with his confession at the post-match conference that he had been unaware of the AFC rules and was certain of qualification, only further condemning him to his fate
“I knew this procedure only at the end of this match,” he said.
“I didn’t really think about this match result because I already expected us to go to the semi-finals. I did not put enough concentration in this match, that’s why I didn’t know about the group stage procedures and the ranking system."
Park, who had also been in charge of the South Korean U23 team in the past, has been leading the Myanmar national teams, including the senior side, since 2011. His exit was confirmed by the Myanmar Football Federation.
The 30,000 spectators who turned out to watch the match, plus the estimated 20,000 who were outside the stadium, were left irate by the exit and made their frustrations known, burning the team's jerseys in protest. Fans inside the stadium also pelted the playing area with projectiles and damaged the SEA Games decorations. The rioters were eventually dispersed using water cannons.

England : Seventeen Chesterfield football hooligans banned and fined - 16/12/2013
Source : http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk
A judge has warned that courts will not tolerate football hooliganism after 17 Chesterfield FC supporters have been fined and banned from games.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, December 16, how the fans admitted disorderly behaviour during a fracas at Chesterfield FC’s 0-1 home match defeat against Mansfield on September 28 in League Two.
Police CCTV footage from inside the ground showed a section of the Spireite fans in the north-west corner of the Proact Stadium gesturing, goading and surging towards Mansfield fans and later footage outside the ground showed police struggling to keep both sets of supporters apart as they tried to clear the area.
District Judge Andrew Davison was appalled to learn a terrified woman motorist and her young child had become surrounded and trapped by a baying mob that had flooded on to Sheffield Road outside people’s homes and shops.
Mr Davison said: “Courts in Chesterfield will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. That lady was surrounded in her car and it must have been exceptionally frightening for her and her daughter.
“Ordinary people would have been fearful of this behaviour on a main road outside a football ground.”
The CCTV footage played in court showed Chesterfield FC fans gesturing towards Mansfield fans and goading them while banging on advertising boards as they shouted and surged forward before being held back by police.
Mansfield fans were also disruptive but not to the same degree as Chesterfield FC supporters, according to police.
Mr Shaw explained motorists could not get along Sheffield Road because it was blocked with chanting supporters.
Some of the offenders were identified and traced from police images released to the Derbyshire Times and some handed themselves in after seeing their pictures in the press.
Mr Davison added: “It was exceptionally, unsatisfactory behaviour from both sets of fans.”
He added: “This type of very frightening and very violent disorder is not a frequent happening in Chesterfield. It was totally unacceptable.”
The 17 Chesterfield FC offenders who pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour in a public place were fined hundreds of pounds.
They were each given football banning orders of three years apart from one offender who received a five year ban.
