One injured and 12 arrested after Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United fans clash
Following today's FA cup match between Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United when fans clashed, Humberside Police received the following statement:
Superintendent Dave Hall said: "It was very pleasing to see that the overwhelming majority of the over 8,000 people who attended the FA cup match at Blundell Park, between Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United, did not cause any concern to police officers and all people left the ground safely.
"Police made six arrests before and during the match for football related incidents, which included two people arrested for pitch invasion and others for breach of football banning orders and public order offences.
"Officers have also been working with licensed premises throughout the day.
"One public house in Cleethorpes chose to close the premises until after 5pm, which was fully supported by the Humberside Police licensing officer and North East Lincolnshire Council licensing officer.
"Following the match, as police made attempts to direct Scunthorpe United fans safely away from Blundell Park, an altercation took place between a large number of individuals.
"These people are believed to have been both Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United supporters.
"One person sustained injuries in the incident and left the location before receiving any treatment.
"A further six arrests were made following this altercation and these people remain in police custody at Grimsby Police Station.
"Further enquiries are ongoing into the incident, and at this time the investigation is in the very early stages and we will be working to ensure that the people who have committed offences are dealt with in a robust manner, with football banning order being progressed.
"The arrests of the 12 people indicates that overall it is a very small minority of people who caused a small amount of disorder on the day of the football match.
"This was a game of great significance for both sets of supporters and I am pleased to see that it was not spoilt for the majority of people.
"Officers who worked alongside Grimsby Town Football Club made sure that the majority of people had a safe and enjoyable day.
"We are now looking towards the replay fixture at Glanford Park, later this month in which one team will be going through to the second round of the FA Cup."

Ajax and Celtic Fans Hauled Into Court - 09/11/2013
Source : http://soccerly.com
Ajax may have won Wednesday's clash 1-0 against Celtic, but it was the clashes on the street that grabbed most - if not all - of the headlines in both the Dutch and Scottish national papers.
On both Tuesday and Wednesday nights, there were several reports of Dutch hooligans attacking visiting Celtic fans. Soon, more news started filtering through that several Scottish supporters had begun fighting with police officers as they tried to control the situation.
Eventually, it became clear that both parties were to blame. Police in Amsterdam stated that the disorder began after some Ajax fans stole a flag belonging to Celtic supporters.
In total, eight police officers were injured, with one being knocked unconscious. Celtic fans hurled bottles and assaulted some officers with sticks.
44 arrests were made; 28 Celtic fans and 16 from Ajax. Of the 28 Hoops, 10 were released without charge, 12 were released after they paid a $600 fine, and six were brought into court yesterday.
The Scottish fans arrested have all been named, with the oldest who appeared before the judge being 49 years old and the youngest just 20. They've been charged with acts of violence against police officers in a public space.
Two were remanded in custody whilst the other four were released on bail, and they'll all appear before the judge again on November 21.
Both clubs are said to be investigating.
The sorry incident hasn't done much for the public image of either side. Soccer in the Netherlands has been plagued with hooligan incidents over the years and it's only just starting to recover. Celtic, meanwhile, had a history of violent clashes with supporters of bitter city rivals Rangers; however, there haven't been any major incidents since the late 90s.
Police in both countries will hope the hours of anarchy in Amsterdam's streets – and the subsequent arrests – can deter other would-be troublemakers from travelling to European cities simply to cause trouble.

Man stabbed, police arrest teenager after A-League soccer match in Sydney
A man has been stabbed during a brawl after an A-League football match at Moore Park in Sydney’s inner city. Police said a number of men became involved in a fight after leaving the match between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory at Allianz Stadium about 10.15pm on Saturday. A man, aged in his 20s, was stabbed in the torso and three other men were injured during the fight outside the Bat and Ball Hotel at the intersection of South Dowling and Cleveland Streets. An hotel employee said about 30 people were involved in the fight, which lasted for 10 minutes.
He said he saw a number of scuffles break out between a group of Melbourne Victory fans and another group of young people who were not wearing soccer jerseys. "They didn’t seem to know each other. It was a group of Melbourne Victory fans being attacked by a group of youths who were not in colours," the employee said. He said the group of young men had been waiting for the fans. Riot squad officers and mounted police reportedly attended the scene and streets were closed to traffic. The man who was stabbed was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A spokesman for St Vincent’s Hospital said the man was in a stable condition. Three other men, one aged 18 and two in their 20s, were also taken to hospital suffering minor injuries sustained during the brawl. They were in a stable condition, the spokesman said. Police arrested a 16-year-old male at the scene and he was taken to Redfern Police Station where he was assisting with inquiries as investigations into the incident continue.

US Salernitana - ASG Nocerina - 09/11/2013
Source : http://metro.co.uk
A derby match in Italy’s third-tier Lega Pro Prima Divisione was abandoned after one team were bizarrely reduced to six players after just 21 minutes’ play.
The clash between hosts Salernitana and Nocerina kicked off 40 minutes late because the visiting players had refused to leave their team bus, reportedly unnerved by alleged death threats they had received from their fans, who were angry at being banned from attending the game.
However, after being persuaded to play by league officials, it seems the visitors had a cunning plan to ultimately have the match halted.
Nocerina made their three permitted substitutions in the first two minutes and over the next 17 minutes five other players ‘limped off’.
That left them with below the minimum number of players on the pitch to continue, forcing the referee to call a halt to proceedings.

Rotherham United - Bradford City - FA Cup - 09/11/2013
Source : http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/
Arrests after trouble at Rotherham-Bradford FA Cup tie
Three people were arrested for public order offences after trouble broke out during Bradford City’s match at Rotherham United.
Police are now studying CCTV footage of the crowd to see if any more offenders can be identified.
City fans clashed with police and stewards just before the end of Saturday’s all-Yorkshire FA Cup tie, which Rotherham won 3-0.
A small number of Bantams fans are alleged to have thrown coins as they attempted to confront Rotherham supporters.
One steward ended up flat on his back during the angry clashes.
A flare was also thrown onto the pitch from the stand housing 2,000 City fans. A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The incident involved some minor disorder where a small number of Bradford City supporters allegedly threw coins and pushed police and stewards. The disorder was quelled quickly by police and a number of Bradford City fans were subsequently removed from the stadium and three people were arrested.”
A Rotherham United supporter was arrested outside the ground on suspicion of assault.
Dave Baldwin, Bradford City’s operations manager, said he would not comment until the safety managers from had been spoken to.
Mark Neale, chairman of Friends of Bradford City, said City fans were “not covering themselves with glory at the moment” and said: “There’s an increasing use of smoke bombs and flares at matches now and apparently we set one off on Saturday. They burn white-hot in the middle. I was there the day of the fire and people, still affected by what happened, would be upset seeing smoke like that.”
The latest trouble came a week after angry scenes during City’s match at Crewe, where Bantams fans became enraged when some Crewe supporters sang about the Valley Parade fire tragedy which killed 56 people. City have received an apology from Crewe.
After the match, fans took to internet forums. Some City fans claimed taunts about the disaster had contributed to the exchanges.
Writing on the Claret and Banter site, one fan said: “Again our fans have retaliated to disgusting fire taunts.”
Rotherham fans posted views on the Millers Mad forum under the thread ‘Worst fans to visit the New York Stadium!’ One wrote: “What a set of Neanderthals they were!” He said that, in the “chaos” that took place, a “steward and a copper ended up on the deck.”
One supporter said: “No idea if it's true or not but there's some Bradford fan on Facebook claiming that there was some Rotherham fans mocking the Bradford fire.” Another said: “If that’s true then it’s not on obviously, but neither is lamping stewards. Seems a bit cry wolfish to me. A real shame all round.”

England : Palace fans given banning orders after away day violence - 11/11/2013
Source : http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk
Six Crystal Palace fans have been given football banning orders after attacking Peterborough fans at an away match last year.
The supporters had travelled from Crawley, Croydon and Epsom to the game on November 10 last year which Palace won 2-1.
After the game there was a fight between the defendants and rival fans in the city centre where punches were thrown and traffic cones were launched.
Some of the fans have received up to five year banning orders which police hope will act as a deterrent to those thinking about committing similar offences. They were sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court last Monday.
Police Sergeant Stuart Saunders, football liaison officer for Peterborough United, said the fight was started by a group of ‘risk’ Palace fans towards a similar group of Peterborough fans.
Sgt Saunders said the group of Palace fans came round a corner in the town centre and laid into the a group of home fans.
The Palace fans knocked their counterparts to the ground and kicked them.
They then picked up and threw traffic cones at the fans, who then ran away and the crowd dispersed. The Police arrived a couple of minutes later.
Sgt Saunders said the defendants were arrested in January 2013 after a joint investigation with Croydon Police and Scotland Yard.
He said: "The Palace fans through the first punch and were the more aggressive. In my opinion the Peterborough fans were there for the fight but got more than they were bargaining for.
"It is an intense two to three minute fight. It was not the most vicious as I don’t think anything other than bruised pride and a few black eyes.
"It is quite an intense fight at a time when the shops are still open and members of the public are wandering around and these idiots are beating seven bells out of each other.
"They could have got a ten year ban but their bans will have a significant impact on the hooligan scene and it sends a strong message out to the hooligan community."
Michael Steer, 20 of Britton Crescent, South Croydon, James Butler, 22, of Beech Crescent in Crawley and Hayden Johnson, 20 of Wentworth Way, Sanderstead all pleaded guilty to violent disorder Richard Jones, 47, of Montpellier, Weston-super-Mare and Brian Smith, 42, of Baylis Walk, Crawley, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.
Declan Clarke, 22 of Miles Road, Epsom, pleaded guilty to affray. Each defendant was given a three month suspended sentence for two years, 100 hours unpaid work and £500 costs.
Butler and Clarke were given five year banning orders with the others getting ones for three years.

Juventus - Naples - 10/11/2013

Juventus hit with stadium closure
The Juventus Stadium will be partially closed for Juventus' next two Serie A games as a result of insulting chants during Sunday's 3-0 win against Napoli. The Curva Sud and Curva Nord will both be closed for the visit of Udinese on December 1 while only the south stand will remain closed for the clash with Sassuolo. The punishment, announced by Serie A, could be followed by a full stadium closure should there be more similar incidents at future Juventus games. Nine occasions were counted by Serie A representatives in which Juve fans made chants of a geographically discriminatory nature. The club were already carrying a one-year suspended punishment following similar chants during the recent Serie A game with Genoa. Furthermore, Juve have been ordered to pay a fine of €50,000 with an additional €10,000 owing due to the lighting of flares by their fans. Napoli have been ordered to pay €50,000 for throwing flares and fireworks at the home supporters, resulting in four people requiring first aid attention.

Halifax fans arrested for throwing flare after minute's silence at MK Dons FA Cup match
TWO men have been arrested after throwing a flare onto the stadiummk pitch just seconds after a minute’s silence to remember war heroes ended. Thomas Baines, 21, of Dearne Fold, Huddersfield, was charged with one count of possessing a firework/flare at a sporting event and two counts of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty. Vincent Baines, 35, of Dean Street, Halifax, was charged with one count of possessing a firework/flare at a sporting event. Both were arrested at the FA Cup game between the Dons and FC Halifax Town on Saturday, and had been sitting in the away section. They were released on bail to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on November 26. A Dons spokesman said: “Smoke bombs, flares and such items are prohibited at stadiummk. While we were disappointed these individuals broke stadiummk ground regulations, our stewards acted quickly to work with police to identify the individuals involved and they were immediately removed from the premises and arrested. “stadiummk is designed to be a safe and friendly environment for all the family and such actions will not be tolerated. Hopefully this will act as a deterrent for others.”
