Italian club fined over chants about dead player - 20/10/2012
Source : http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com
A second-division Italian football team has been fined $65,000 after its fans made offensive chants about an opposing player who died during a match last season. The chants occurred during Hellas Verona's 2-0 win at Livorno on Saturday. Verona apologized and attempted to disassociate itself from the conduct of those "ultra'' fans. Piermario Morosini of Livorno collapsed and died of a heart attack during Livorno's Serie B match at Pescara in April. Tests revealed he had an inherited heart disease. All matches in the top divisions were suspended on the weekend of his death.

Rangers supporters issued banning orders for sectarian singing during Brechin match - 25/10/2012
Source : http://www.scotsman.com
THREE Rangers supporters have been fined and giving football banning orders for shouting sectarian abuse during the Ibrox side’s first match since reforming following liquidation.
• Three defendants fined £300 each and given six month banning orders
• Police used video recorders to capture evidence of sectarian singing
Andrew Callaghan and Billy Brawley shouted “fenian b******s” while singing “Follow Follow
”, while Gordon McKillop was heard shouting “f*** the Pope and the Vatican” at the match at Brechin City’s Glebe Park in July this year.
A fourth fan, Derek McCreadie, did not appear in court today to answer the charges.
And a fifth supporter, Gordon Maclean denied a charge of possessing a lit smoke canister “with utter disregard for the consequences”, and will stand trial next month.
Fiscal depute Hannah Kennedy told Forfar Sheriff Court that around 4100 fans were in attendance at the game, and that police officers were filming sections of the away support for surveillance purposes.
She said that Callaghan and Brawley were spotted chanting “Follow Follow” by officers.
She said: “The accused were seen singing offensive remarks.
“Police spoke to the accused and told them that if the video showed them singing, they would be charged with an offence.”
Brawley, 28, of Wheatland Avenue, Glasgow, Callaghan, 28, of Kirkton Avenue, Blantyre, and McKillop, 28, of Main Street, Largs pleaded guilty to the charges under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act.
McCreadie, 22, of Seaview, Wigton, denied an identical charge through his solicitor, and McLean, 31, of Thornliebank Road, Glasgow, denied a charge of culpable and reckless conduct.
Andrew Docherty, appearing for Callaghan and Brawley - who both work as drivers, said they were “ashamed of the offences”.
He said: “Mr Callaghan and Mr Brawley actually attended the match together.
“Both were in high spirits as it was the first game of the new season and drink was taken.
“They are ashamed of the behaviour.
Mixed family
“Mr Brawley comes from a mixed family - some of his uncles are Roman Catholics - and he has no religious bigotry in him at all.”
Sheriff Kevin Veal find Brawley, Callaghan and McKillop £300 each, and gave them each a six month football banning order.
McCreadie was ordered to attend a pre-trial hearing next month, while Maclean will stand trial next month over the alleged smoke canister incident.
Rangers won the Ramsdens Cup match at Brechin 2-1 - but required extra time to see off the Angus side.
Andy Little fired them in front inside four minutes, but former St Johnstone striker Andy Jackson levelled the game just before half time.
Lee McCulloch sealed the win with a header in the first half of extra time.
At an earlier hearing another Rangers fan, David Boyd, was fined £500 after he was heard shouting “f*** the Pope” and “f***an bastards” at the match.
However, Boyd, 25, of Charlotte Gardens, Aberdeen, avoided a football banning order.

PAOK to play three European matches behind closed doors - 31/10/2012
Source : http://football.uk.reuters.com
Greek club PAOK Salonica will have to play their next three European home games behind closed doors after losing an appeal against sanctions imposed by UEFA following a riot at a match in August.
The club will also have to pay a 150,000 euro ($193,458) fine and face automatic expulsion from European competition if there is a repeat incident within the next three years, European soccer's governing body said Monday. The trouble broke out before the start of PAOK's Europa League qualifying tie at home to Austrian side Rapid Vienna on Aug 23. The Austrian club said that Molotov cocktails were among the weapons used to attack their fans as they arrived at the Toumba stadium for the match. Video showed fans hurling a variety of firecrackers and other missiles at each other, and at one point dozens of masked fans ran onto the pitch. Rapid said that some of their supporters were also attacked in the city centre before the game. "PAOK were charged with the improper conduct of supporters - crowd disturbances, pitch invasion, setting off and throwing of missiles and fireworks - and insufficient organisation," said UEFA in a statement. Rapid have already lost an appeal after being ordered to play one European match behind closed doors and pay a 75,000 euro fine. PAOK won the match 2-1 but lost the second leg 3-0. The punishment will be applied next time they qualify for European competition.

Police search for 25 football hooligans after clash in Lincoln - 09/10/2012
Source : http://thelincolnite.co.uk
Lincolnshire Police are looking to identify up to 25 men from two gangs of football hooligans that clashed over the weekend in Lincoln. This happened before Lincoln City Football Club’s match with Luton on Saturday. Police said between 20 and 25 thugs clashed inside The Ritz pub in High Street, Lincoln, at around 1pm on October 6. Police have now launched Operation Hartford to ensure that they are identified and arrested. Furniture and glasses were thrown during the violent disorder and a number of people were physically assaulted. Two women were treated at hospital for minor injuries caused by flying glass. The disturbance also spilled out into High Street and Firth Road. PC Andy Pearson said the disturbance was shocking and totally unacceptable: “Two rival gangs clashed, one from Lincoln and one Luton. These are not football fans, they are simply hooligans and it is important that we identify all of the offenders and arrest them as quickly as possible,” he said. “We need anyone who was in the pub or in the area to get in touch and help us with our enquiries as soon as possible. What took place was totally unacceptable on a busy Saturday afternoon when families are out trying to enjoy what the city has to offer. “Over the last three years we have done a huge amount of proactive work to target thugs like this and that work will continue. It is essential that we send out a clear message to hooligans – you are not welcome in Lincoln.” Call Lincolnshire Police on 101 with information, quoting incident number 318 of October 8.

Five men charged with football disorder in Lincoln - 17/10/2012
Source : http://thelincolnite.co.uk
Lincolnshire Police charged five men with affray in relation to football related disorder in Lincoln in August this year. The men have all been charged in relation to a disturbance in Guildhall Street, Lincoln, on August 4 when Lincoln City were playing Leicester City. The incident happened as some football fans came to the city despite the friendly match being cancelled over security fears. The men have been charged with affray and released on bail to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on November 20 and 21. The men were named as Callum Busby (18), of De Wint Avenue, Lincoln; Jack Jenner (18), of Fen Road, Metheringham; Craig Marchant-East (19), of Nettleton Close, Branston; Adam Payne (29), of Sandhurst Close, Leicester; Anthony Raybould (33), of Brocklesby Way, Netherhall, Leicester. The Lincoln – Leicester friendly match was cancelled after police were tipped that the match may be disrupted by people travelling to Lincoln with the intention of causing serious disorder. Lincoln City Football Club said it has lost more than £60,000 after it had to cancel two matches due to the security threats from fans.

Newcastle and Brugge fans clash in isolated incidents before and after the Europa League match at St James' Park.

The 25th of October, FC Bruges played at Newcastle, their 3th game of the Europe League. The Bruges Casual Firm gathered in a Club named "Idols" for a preparty called Riot Beats. Many of the lads allready call this party one of the most famous in the last years. 2 hours before the match, a large group of approximatly 200 BCF-lads left the club and marched down the boulevards towards St. James Parc. They were game and up for it, knowing the reputation of the Newcastle Gremlins. They made it quiet easy for the homelads to attack them. However, no group of lads was to be seen. Same story after the game. Later, a lad of the Newcastle Gremlins contacted us, saying our mob was one of the most impressing groups he had ever seen.
