| Aldershot - Brentford - 18/10/2008
Source: forum
Many old faces from Brentford made the trip. So, about 60/70 lads were on the train. When they arrived at Aldershot, a thousand locals waited them inside a pub in front of the station, who were held back by OB. Some verbals between both sides. It seems about 25 Brentford lads took taxis to another village, Ash Vale with the aim to have an off with 60 locals but just a minor altercatin took place.

| Hammarby IF - Djurgarden IF - 19/10/2008Source: The Local + soderbroder.se + nyheter24.se Football hooligans battle in StockholmMore than 70 people were detained in connection with a brawl which broke out on Sunday afternoon between rival factions of football supporters in Stockholm. Hostilities between fans of the Hammarby and Djurgården football clubs flared up again later in the evening, leading to more arrests. Around 200 supporters had gathered around 7:30pm to do battle in the Vasastan district of Stockholm. Police officers on hand to monitor the situation found themselves in the firing line as well, having to dodge a number of objects thrown by rowdy hooligans. By 8pm, more police had arrived and detained 76 people on suspicions of violent rioting. “The 76 detainees were taken by bus to Hundudden near Gärdet [on the east side of the city]. You can say what you want about it being too close to the city, but we’re governed by current legislation and can’t take them farther away than that,” said police spokesperson Jens Wismar to the TT news agency. After refueling at local pubs, the supporters met again around 9:30pm near Slussen, on the south side of the city. “We arrested a further 14 people who have been taken to the Södermalm police station,” said Wismar. | Cardiff v Swansea : Photos issued after game violence - 21/10/2008Source : South Wales Echo + BBC THESE are the football fans wanted by police investigating the violence that erupted following Cardiff’s derby clash with Swansea. Pictures of the 32 people police want to speak to have been released by officers who have already arrested eight people in connection with the trouble that saw police pelted with missiles. Officers were forced to use batons to quell the fighting and keep fans apart after the Carling Cup match at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium a month ago. A police spokesman said: “South Wales Police in Swansea have set up Operation Cybil to investigate incidents of disorder that occurred during the Swansea v Cardiff football at the Liberty Stadium. “Officers are looking to identify the individuals depicted within these photographs to assist us with our inquiries. To date, police have identified and arrested eight people.” South Wales Police has not specified if the men are Cardiff or Swansea fans. But in the days after the clash on Tuesday, September 23, Cardiff supporters hit out after claims they were left at the mercy of Swansea fans. After the final whistle, police battled to repel Swansea fans trying to force their way into the Cardiff section of the ground. Bluebirds fans said Swans supporters hurled stones, bricks and glass bottles at the police. Police, who have been trawling CCTV since the incident, said they will be looking to ban anyone convicted of involvement in the violence. After last month’s match Vince Alm, of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Club, said there had been no problems until after the game. He said: “It kicked off after the final whistle when the Swans fans were allowed to stay in the ground and goad us. They weren’t being encouraged to leave. At the same time, we were kept back and had nowhere to go. “A few of our fans cracked and some seats got broken. “But it was only a very small minority of Cardiff fans who had a go back.” Of the eight arrests made before and during the Carling Cup match, five were in and around the stadium and three were made in Swansea city centre. Among those arrested was a 15-year-old boy from Barry, arrested for assaulting a police officer. Earlier this month, a football hooligan who threw a lit flare at a coach of Cardiff City fans before the match was banned from every ground for three years. Darren Riley, 20, admitted disorderly behaviour. The police spokesman said: “Police are urging the individuals concerned or anyone who is able to identify any of them to make contact with Swansea Police on 01792 456999, the dedicated hotline on 01792 563046 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.” Cardiff and Swansea will meet on the pitch again in a Coca Cola Championship match at the Liberty Stadium on November 30. | |

| Two arrested at Millwall - 21/10/2008Source : South London Press Today + Telegraph.co.uk TROUBLE flared between rival football fans when Leeds visited Millwall on Saturday. Missiles were thrown onto the pitch of the New Den and seats were torn from the stands. Cops arrested two men in their 20s at the ground, one on suspicion of throwing missiles and the other in relation to a public order offence. Tensions were high in the first half after Leeds substitute David Prutton was targeted with a missile after appearing to goad home fans while warming up on the touchline. In the second half, Leeds fans ripped out seats and began throwing them at Lions supporters, until police in riot gear stepped in to quash the disorder. Police had mounted a huge operation ahead of the game to prevent rival hooligans clashing. British Transport Police had to close part of London Bridge station to the public after the game so that travelling Leeds fans could be escorted to their trains. Millwall deputy chairman, Heather Rabbatts, has described the ugly scenes as regrettable. She added: “The vast majority of people enjoyed a very good game.”

| Atlético fans plan Uefa protest - 21/10/2008
Source : This Is Anfield
Atlético Madrid supporters are planning to protest against Uefa following their decision to ban the Spanish club from hosting three home fixtures, the first initially being their clash with Liverpool.
Uefa eventually back tracked and made the right decision to suspend the ban, but Atlético fans remain angry at the way the situation was handled and deny any allegations of racist abuse.
The protest is called “Da la espalda a la UEFA” (Give your back to UEFA) and fans are planning to turn their backs on the pitch and boo during the playing of the Champions League theme tune prior to kick off.
Atlético fans believe the accusation of racist chanting is false, with the chanting of ‘Kun, Kun, Kun’ referring to star striker Kun Agüero rather than any racist behaviour.

| FEYENOORD FANS TOLD TO STAY AWAY - 22/10/2008
Source : Sportinglife
Feyenoord have told their fans to stay at home for Thursday's UEFA Cup Group H opener against Nancy.
Two years ago, tear gas was used to disperse rioting fans during a match between the two sides in Nancy in the same competition, and UEFA banned Feyenoord from Europe for rest of the year.
Feyenoord have acted to prevent a similar incident occurring at the Stade Marcel Picot by announcing they will not be taking any fans with them this time.
Feyenoord director Eric Gudde defended the club's stance, saying: "It's all about the safety of our team."
The Rotterdammers have suffered a miserable start to the Eredivisie season and sit fourth-bottom with just one win in six following last weekend's 1-0 loss to Willem II, a result which drew an exasperated response from defender Kevin Hofland.
"It all has to do with mentality and motivation," he said. "That's why I'm so angry.
"During the match I tried to motivate some players, but the motivation and the right mentality has to come from within the player himself.
"If you play for a club like Feyenoord you should fight from the beginning until the bitter end. I get furious about people lacking this mentality.
"For those who don't want to come along they'd better stay home. It's that simple."

| Serb fans jailed for Opoku attack - 23/10/2008Source : BBC SPORT A Serbian court has sentenced four football fans to a total of four and a half years imprisonment for a racially-motivated attack on a Ghanaian player, Solomon Opoku. The four were sentenced by a court in the central Serbian town of Cacak to prison terms ranging from 10 to 18 months for attacking Opoku after a first division match in March. Another man was sentenced to six months for threatening a witness to the attack. Opoku, who was on trial with Serbian first division club Borac Cacak, suffered minor injuries when he was attacked by fans shouting racist insults. He left the club immediately afterwards. Serbian football has a history of racist incidents. In 2006, police arrested more than 30 Borac fans accused of verbally abusing another African player, Zimbabwean striker Mike Temwanjira. No one was sentenced in connection with that incident and Temwanjira left Borac shortly afterwards. In 2007, Uefa fined the Serbian Football Association $US41,000 for racial insults by fans aimed at black players during the under-21 European championship match with England in the Netherlands. | |

| Sweden cracks down on hooligans - 24/10/2008
Source : Daily Telegraph
SWEDEN plans to crack down on hooliganism with a new law allowing police to ban troublemakers from stadiums and making it illegal to storm the pitch, throw objects and light firecrackers, the government said today.
The justice ministry has prepared legislation which is currently being studied by experts. The proposal is expected to be presented to parliament for a vote in the coming weeks, and would take effect on April 1, 2009, a spokesman for Justice Minister Beatrice Ask, Martin Valfridsson said.
"Until now only football clubs were allowed to bar people entry to stadiums, but according to the new proposal the police will also be authorised to do so,'' he said.
Police will be able to bar people entry on the spot, he said. Fans who storm the pitch, throw objects or light firecrackers will face fines or six months in prison, he added.
Violence flares occasionally at Swedish football matches, most recently on October 20 at a derby match between Stockholm clubs AIK and Hammarby when fans clashed in the stands, lit a fire and threw objects onto the pitch.
Meanwhile, Stockholm police have separately proposed that all derby matches be played during the daytime, a motion that has been supported by football clubs, Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet reported.

| FC København fans riots aginst the club - 24/10/2008
Source: danish press (thanks to the sender)
F.C. København fans now come together against their own club's controversial attempt to stop the football riots.
On its website takes F.C. København Fan Club, which counts 20,500 members, now officially distance from the fan-register FCK Away.
"Despite the good intentions behind 'FCK Away', we see it cause more harm than good at the moment, both for general fodboldtilskuer and the fan club as a whole," it says in a statement from the fan club pin board.
Discrimination The announcements came after Nyhedsavisen told the official and unofficial FCK fans' opposition to FCK Away.
Management introduced fan-register in the wake of the spectator unrest in particular Arsenal, Nagpur and Lyngby, and now must FCK's supporters are giving your name, address, photograph and height to FCK Away, where they will have access to the club's away matches and a separate fanafsnit in the park.
Fanclub Bens resistance stems, among other things, that fans are discriminated against by the new rules. Thus, a group of fanatical FCK fans made homeless in the park as they did not want to register in FCK Away.
'Second, we believe that by registering people show a distrust that is not only a nuisance to them, we want to hit, but also to those who behave as we should on a stadium,' it sounds far in fan club pin opinion.
'Backing' evaporated Since F.C. Copenhagen leadership introduced FCK Away said that the initiative "is discussed with FCK's official fan club, who supports the actions."
Whether it was a truth with a wish-bone fan club vice-president not to comment on.
"There has always been strong criticism of the FCK Away among some on the board. And the experiences that have been following the season's first matches, has hint majority, so there is now common opposition to the initiative, "said Frederick Holm-Jorgensen, Vice President of the FCK Fan Club.
FCKFC, which is Denmark's largest soccer fan club, now wishes to engage in dialogue with management about getting away with FCK Away.
The dialogue will Park Chairman Flemming Ostergaard like to take, but fans should not expect too much:
"We are taking statements quietly. We have introduced FCK Away, because it must be maintained. Of course we would like to start a dialogue, but much to be before we change anything, "said Flemming Ostergaard, there are no more comments.
Fan-landscape will round up Researcher in football fan culture at the University of Aarhus Jonas Havelund understand the fans' great dissatisfaction with the Register.
'FCK's fans are as a lawn, where wild flowers shoot up on the lawn. You break the leadership is not about, and then give the entire lawn round up, "he said to Nyhedsavisen.
He believes that directors should await the initiatives taken by police and politicians have been implemented. Thus, by law, created a national hooligan register, which can prevent potential troublemakers from approaching the stadium. A training is also underway for the stadium-inspectors in the country's three top divisions, like the Police Service has put a new strategy to handle the many different types of football fans.

| Police: No 'knee-jerk' reaction to hooligan problem - 25/10/2008
Source : Hull Daily Mail
POLICE today urged fans to put trouble around Hull City's win over West Ham last week behind them as excitement builds ahead of the Tigers' match against Chelsea this week. Up to 100 hooligans clashed in Walton Street and a pub car park before the Hammers match at the KC Stadium. But PC Karl Corcoran, the force's football liaison officer, said police presence would not be stepped up for the Chelsea game on Wednesday. He told the Mail: "Our message to fans is let's get back to the football and put what happened behind us." "There will not be a knee-jerk reaction from us. "We would only put on extra resources if there was quality intelligence either from ourselves or Chelsea football club." Hull City officials expect about 24,900 fans to watch the Chelsea match. The London club has sold its allocation of 2,500 tickets. PC Corcoran dismissed suggestions that the Chelsea game would see a repeat of the problems like those seen at the Parkers pub in Anlaby Road, west Hull, last weekend. He said: "Chelsea once had a reputation, but that was many years ago. We are not expecting anything out of the ordinary from them. "Everybody, including us, is hoping for a good game without any trouble. "Elsewhere in the country, pubs near the ground have been forced to close. That is the very last thing we want. We want people to go out and have a good time without trouble." Following the trouble around the West Ham game, two men were charged with public disorder offences. A third man is accused of breaching his football banning order.
