Six supporters arrested after a fight

Some hours before the game, in Gerland stadium, troubles occured opposing supporters from both sides at 5pm.
Someone who saw the scene said dozens of youths, fought together.
Police forces made an intervention and many of the fighters disappeared but some of them - about 30 - were also arrested.
Six were maintened into custody.

Riots erupted prior to the game, at the Bochum train station, where 1500 G'ladbach supporters who came by trains, cars and coaches, mobbed up with the aim to go to the station.
Some of them threw missiles (bottles and firecrackers) at police forces.
Missiles were also threw at local fans.
A woman, from G'ladbach, was injured and 26 people arrested.
Now, police will check CCTV.

Troubles opposed supporters

No one was injured during these troubles which erupted.
Police forces used pepper sprays to separate both sides, said police forces.

Prior to the game, Aarau supporters forced a security gate and attacked St Gallen supporters.
After the game, provocations continued but police forces were in large number.

About 100 policemen were on duty to contain hooligans from both sides.
Hooligans who, several times, tried to cause troubles in the old city from the morning till the game, where 70 Munich hooligans fronted 80 local rivals.
Police made several interventions but a fight finally erupted.

Nine supporters from St Etienne were arrested Saturday, in Nantes.
Six of them were arrested as they were drunk and tried to enter the stadium.
One other was arrested as he had a knife and two others because they had drugs.

Football fans hurt as railing collapses in Sweden

Around 40 people fell up to two metres to the ground when a railing gave way during a local football match in southwestern Sweden, police said Sunday, adding that two people had been hurt.

“We’ve had an incident at a football game at the Valhalla stadium (in Gothenburg). A railing around one of the stand areas gave way and around 40 people fell, some as far as two metres (6.6 feet),” local police spokesman Steffan Gustafsson told AFP.

“Two people have been injured. At least one of them has been taken to hospital,” he said without providing any further details.

Swedish news agency TT meanwhile reported that an 18-year-old man had been taken to the nearby Sahlgrenska hospital with minor injuries.

According to Swedish media reports, the railing gave way after fans of a local Gothenburg team called Oergryte began cheering wildly on a crowded stand section when player Marcus Allbaeck scored an initial goal against the Vaesby team, from near Stockholm, just one minute into the game.

The game was immediately halted when the accident occurred at around 2:00 pm (1200 GMT) but resumed around an hour later after the people who had been seated on the part of the stand that collapsed were moved to other seats, TT reported.

Football fans injured in bleacher collapse

The fence around a set of bleachers has crashed to the ground at a Gothenburg football match, resulting in injuries to supporters who fell nearly two metres in the incident.

Fans of Gothenburg-based Örgryte were celebrating a goal by Marcus Allbäck which put the squad up 1-0 in the early going of match against Väsby in Sweden’s second division.

An Örgryte victory would likely allow the team to qualify for Sweden’s top football league, the Allsvenskan.

But the fans’ celebration was short lived after the pressure from celebrating fans became too much for the fence on the lower edge of the bleachers, causing it to give way and sending several fans tumbling down to the ground.

The game has been halted and emergency crews are on the way to deal with any injuries.

According to police, around 40 supporters fell approximately two metres when the fence collapsed.

A spokesperson for Gothenburg-area emergency services told the Aftonbladet newspaper they have not yet received any reports of serious injuries.

“No one has been trapped. Ambulances, police, and emergency services are there now and things are relatively calm on the scene,” said the spokesperson.

According to the TT news agency, at least one person has been taken to hospital.

The match’s referee has yet to decide whether or not to resume the match.
