| Luton Town - Nottingham Forest - 30/10/2007
Source: Luton News newspaper
Forest and Hatters fans fight in streets
Football disorder described as "the worst since the 1980s" erupted between rival fans attending Luton Town's match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Disturbances were reported in several areas of the town before and after the fixture, and two Forest fans required hospital treatment after violent clashes, one for a head injury.
It appears that the skirmishes, which were centred on Bury Park Road and Dunstable Road near the football ground as well as on High Town Road, were premeditated.
Police arrested five Luton fans for public order offences, and one Forest supporter for throwing a missile.
Bedfordshire Police's football liaison officer Peter Palmer said: "Unfortunately there were several disturbances in the town relating to this fixture, the worst we have had for some time.
"Elements from both sides looked to engage in disorder, and without doubt there are indications that this was organised in advance, which is very disappointing seeing that we have not had incidents of this type for many years. We will be reviewing our evidence and looking at CCTV footage with a view to making further arrests."
Police will now reassess security plans ahead of tonight's high-profile cup tie against Everton.
"We have to take each game on its intelligence, and Everton is a very different fixture," said PC Palmer.
"But we will have to review our arrangements."

Source: http://rus-hool.narod.ru
The attemp of army mob to arrange the fight abroad, unfortunately has not reached success... Hooligans of CSKA have taken out to Poland perfect staff under 140 lads. There were all the best firms of CSKA(Yaroslavka, Gallant Steeds,RBW and co.) + some guys from Dinamo. The organization of departure from Russia has been lead at a highlevel, but all the plans have been broken off by police, ACAB didn't sleep: as soon as guys have crossed border of Poland they were caught by police( helicopters, police cars, etc), to get out was not possible and red-blues have gone home and not having fought! Better luck next time, we'll wish good luck

| Oxford United top violence league - 18/10/2007
Source: http://www.thisisoxfordshire.co.uk/
MORE Oxford United fans were punished for causing trouble in the past year than any other club outside the football league, according to Home Office statistics released today.
Between October 2006 and August this year, 22 fans received football banning orders from magistrates for causing trouble at Oxford United matches.
This is the highest amount in The Blue Square Premier and more than a host of clubs in higher divisions including Premiership clubs Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Reading.
When United started last season there were only two fans with banning orders.
advertisement The Home Office figures also show in the 2006/07 season police arrested 21 Oxford United fans including 11 at home and 10 at away matches.
The arrests were for violent and public disorder, missile throwing, alcohol offences and offences against people.
It places The Us second behind Exeter City who had 31 arrests last season but more than a host of clubs further up the leagues including Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Swindon Town.
Club spokesman Chris Williams said no one was available to comment on the statistics.

| Lincoln: Thugs put imps top of the arrests league - 22/10/2007
Source: http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk
Thugs scored an own goal by placing Lincoln City top of the league for football-related arrests last season.
While the Imps currently languish near the bottom of League Two, the behaviour of some so-called fans last season led the club into an altogether different league of shame.
According to official Home Office figures, 41 Imps fans were arrested last season - the joint highest number in the league, along with Bristol Rovers.
Two were arrested for violent disorder, 24 for public disorder, one for racist chanting, three for pitch intrusion and five for alcohol-related offences.
There was also one arrest for offences against property, two for breach of a football banning order and three for breach of the peace.
Eight of the arrests were at home matches while most of the away arrests happened at two games - Mansfield and Notts County.
During the previous 2005/6 season, 21 Imps fans were arrested.
Thirty-seven Imps fans are the subject of football banning orders, of which 14 were imposed during last season - the second highest number in the league.
This compares to just 10 banning orders handed down to Imps fans during the previous season.
Superintendent Lee Freeman, of Lincolnshire Police, said the increase in arrests was due to the force and the football club jointly cracking down on yobs.
"The fact that we swiftly arrested those suspected of being responsible is indicative of how seriously both Lincolnshire Police and Lincoln City Football Club will continue to deal with any such incidents," he said.
"Offenders will invariably face football banning orders and the prospect of a custodial sentence."
Sally Howard (67), a member of the Echo's fans' panel, said the behaviour of some so-called fans worried her.
"I take my eight-year-old grand-daughter and I don't like it when you hear offensive chanting or see people acting up," said Mrs Howard, who lives in North Hykeham.
"It's a shame that the enjoyment of football is marred by the behaviour of a few idiots who can't call themselves proper fans."
Imps chief executive Dave Roberts said Sincil Bank remained a safe environment for families.
"Of the eight arrests at home games, only two were actually at the ground for pitch incursions," he said.
"While arrests at away games is not the image we want to portray, it is difficult for us to control."

| Lincoln City - Peterborough United - 20/10/2007
Source: http://www.thisislincoln.co.uk
TWO FANS ARRESTED
Two football supporters were arrested for public disorder before Saturday's League Two clash at Sincil Bank.
One Lincoln City and one Peterborough United fan were arrested by police outside the ground before kick-off.
Lincolnshire Police's football intelligence officer PC Andy Pearson said that aside from the arrests, the day was without incident.
"Policing the day was a joint operation between ourselves and Cambridgeshire Police and British Transport Police," he said.
"There was a large police presence - we were trying to prevent any trouble between the 1,725 or so Peterborough fans and the home supporters.
"We try to keep disruption to shoppers to a minimum."
The match ended 1-1. | |

| Almost 50 Saints fans arrested for football violence - 18/10/2007
Source: http://www.thisishampshire.net
NEARLY 50 Saints fans were arrested at football matches last season, Home Office figures revealed today.
Of the 47 arrests, 26 took place at home games and 21 at away fixtures.
A breakdown of the figures showed eight were for violent disorder - the worst type of football-related violent criminality.
advertisement Twenty arrests were made for the more minor offence of public disorder - the most frequent cause of arrest of Saints fans.
Other arrests included nine for alcohol-related offences, five for pitch incursions and one for racist chanting.
The figures also showed that three football banning orders were imposed on Saints fans in the 2006/7 season - taking the total number of orders to 24.
The banning orders are a civil measure designed to make it easier for the authorities to stop hooligans attending games without having to prove criminal behaviour "beyond reasonable doubt".
Behaviour likely to result in a ban, which lasts between two and ten years, includes fighting, stirring up racial hatred, using threatening or abusive words and even "displaying abusive or insulting writing".
Nationally, the Government admitted that the number of arrests for football-related offences had risen by eight per cent last season.
It claimed the increase reflected a "tougher police approach to anti-social and disorderly behaviour likely to spoil match day experience for the vast majority of football supporters".
It pointed out the number of arrests for football violence was now the lowest on record.
Total attendance at football matches involving English and Welsh clubs and international teams increased by five per cent to more than 38.6 million during 2006/7.
The Home Office said the total 3,788 arrests represented just 0.01 per cent of spectators.

| Celtic pitch invader is arrested - 04/10/2007Source: BBC A Celtic fan who ran on to the pitch during the Champions League game against AC Milan has been arrested for breach of the peace. The 27-year-old has also been banned for life by Celtic after he made himself known to the Glasgow club. He had rushed from the stand following Celtic's last-minute goal and appeared to strike Milan goalkeeper Dida. Chief executive Peter Lawwell told the club's website: "It is satisfying that he has been identified so swiftly." The impact from the fan's flailing arm appeared minimal, but Dida collapsed to the ground and was taken off on a stretcher after initially chasing the culprit for a few steps. "The individual in question has now been banned for life from attending Celtic matches, both home and away," said Lawwell. "Outwith this incident, the Celtic support last night was phenomenal and I would like to thank our fans once again for their wonderful backing. "Our fans have a tremendous record of positive support for the club at home and abroad, something that has been recognised by both Uefa and Fifa and we are sure this will continue." But Uefa is set to investigate an incident involving the fan, who Celtic stress was not a season-ticket holder, and could impose sanctions against the Scottish champions. Uefa's director of communications, William Gaillard, told BBC Sport that it would wait for reports from the referee and match delegate before acting. They should arrive at Uefa headquarters on Friday and Gaillard said any case would be referred to an independent disciplinary body. Celtic chairman Brian Quinn hopes Uefa takes into account the "antics" of Dida before making a decision. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said the club would not protest about the fan's actions and coach Carlo Ancelotti said he saw no reason for the result to be changed. Galliani said: "It's a decision that I've agreed on with president Silvio Berlusconi." And Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf said the incident was unrepresentative of the club. "Celtic fans are some of the greatest supporters I know," he said. The incident at Celtic Park marred an otherwise successful night for Celtic, who avenged their last-16 defeat to the eventual champions last season. In 2005 Dida, was hit by a flare thrown by Inter Milan fans during a Champions League quarter-final at the San Siro, forcing the tie to be abandoned. Inter were subsequently thrown out of the competition and made to play their next four European games behind closed doors. Uefa also fined the club £132,000. | |
