UEFA bans Shkupi fans second leg of Levski Sofia tie after violence in Skopje
UEFA have banned Bulgaria’s Levski Sofia from selling tickets to North Macedonian Shkupi fans for the second-leg of their UEFA Conference League qualifier following fan clashes in the first leg of the tie in Skopje last week.
The second leg will be played in Sofia on August 3.
In Skopje, there were a number of violent incidents including the stabbing of a Levski fan, and the arrests of more than 20 supporters.
Yesterday, Shkupi urged their fans not to travel for the game in Sofia.

England: Stevenage fined for pitch invasion by fan against Bradford - 01/08/2023
Source : https://www.thecomet.net/
Stevenage have been hit by a four-figure fine after a so-called fan ran onto the pitch against Bradford City in February - making a beeline for the Bantams' Andy Cook.
The incident happened towards the end of the League Two game at the Lamex Stadium, with an independent regulatory commission imposing a fine of £7,500.
The report said: "Stevenage FC admitted failing to ensure that its spectators and/or its supporters – and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers – conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, and do not behave in a way which is improper, threatening or provocative; and/or encroach on to the pitch or commit any form of pitch incursion."
They said the fan, who was 14, "ran towards the match referee but then ran past the referee towards Bradford player Andy Cook and attempted to assault him.
"That supporter only failed to have direct physical contact with Andy Cook because a Stevenage player physically protected Andy Cook by shielding him from physical contact with the supporter.
"Players from both teams got hold of the supporter and tried ushering him away."
It went on to say that "a radio message from Liam Warren, the Stevenage safety officer, to say a supporter was on the pitch" was met with the response "which location".
Warren was one of the stewards who approached the supporter after he re-entered the stands, identifying him to police who then "apprehended that supporter and ejected him from the ground".
The report added: "The Stevenage safety officer was not happy at the lack of response from stewarding staff and upon a post-incident investigation with the Stevenage stewarding supplier, the stated reason for there being no initial reaction from stewarding staff in the stand was that the stewards ordinarily stewarded stadia where there is a dedicated 'pitch invasion team' for such eventualities.
"Stevenage had no such team [but] following various post-incident discussions, Stevenage will now have a dedicated PIT present and available pitch side at every home match."
The offending supporter has been banned from attending the Lamex for a period of three years.

OM supporters banned from traveling to Panathinaikos ? - 01/08/2023
Source : https://www.lequipe.fr/
According to information from the Greek media Gazzetta.gr, UEFA plans to ban travel for Marseille fans to Athens and Greek fans to Marseille for the return leg, which takes place on August 15. The European body could defend its decision due to the alleged closeness between certain Marseille ultras from the CU84 group and those from AEK Athens, Panathinaiko’s sworn enemy.

Reggiana - Pescara - Cup played in Fiorenzuola - 06/08/2023
Source : TuttoB.com
Fans clash after Reggiana-Pescara match
Fans clashed at the end of the Coppa Italia match between Reggiana and Pescara. As ilrestodelcarlino.it put it, "flying chairs, pushing and shoving, bottles and smoke exchanged". A discreet Wild West improvised by Reggiana and Pescara fans just after the end of the preliminary round of the Italian Cup, at the 'Attilio Pavesi' stadium in Fiorenzuola [...].
Pescara's supporters, although numerous, were clearly in the minority (149 in total, out of 1,403 paying supporters) but that did not deter some of them. There were provocations, bottles and smoke bombs. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but for a short time the scene was unpleasant and the bar at the stadium exit suffered various forms of damage as some supporters used chairs and tables as weapons in the brawl.
The police had to get in the way and once the clash was over, they ensured that the troublemakers were removed."

AEK Athens - Dinamo Zagreb - 08/08/2023
Source : https://www.ekathimerini.com/
Football hooligan clash leaves one dead
A 22-year-old Greek man died on Monday night in a violent altercation involving football hooligans ahead of Tuesday’s match between Athens side AEK and visiting Dinamo Zagreb from Croatia.
The young man died of multiple stab wounds inflicted during a brawl between dozens of fans of the two sides, which took place a day before the UEFA Champions League third-qualifying-round match at AEK’s stadium in the Athens suburb of Nea Filadelfia.
Four Greeks and four Croatians were also treated for various injuries, while police made 96 arrests.
According to reports, a big group of around 150-200 Dinamo supporters descended on Athens by road on Monday night, flouting a ban imposed on visitors from Croatia over fears of precisely the kind of clashes that took place.
Police put the motorcade under discreet surveillance, but lost track of the Croatian fans when they left the touring buses they arrived on and made their way to AEK’s OPAP Arena by car and train. There, they reportedly clashed with supporters of the home team who had been hanging out at the cafes and bars around the stadium, where AEK and Dinamo had held a practice earlier.
The Dinamo fans were also joined by several supporters of Athens’ Panathinaikos club, according to reports.

PSV Supporters Association have had it with troublemakers - 08/08/2023
Source : https://eindhovennews.com/
Supporters Association PSV intends to take steps against troublemakers after the vandalism during the Johan Cruijff Shield match. New measures should prevent any such unacceptable behaviour in the future.
During the match in De Kuip Stadium Feyenoord-supporters sustained injuries when PSV-supporters hung from the nets, upon which parts of the suspension construction came down. Feyenoord has already announced it will press charges against PSV.
The Supporters association of the Eindhoven club has now published its position as well. (Links to Dutch version; English version available but publication is only in Dutch. ed.) “Last Friday’s fabulous victory was again oveshadowed by incidents. A net was torn and an iron bar thrown from the away seats (fortunately) narrowly missed a boy”, they write.
‘Things are getting heated’
“Feyenoord supporters were singing hateful songs and broke the windows on our buses which is costing us a lot of money. In other words: the season has only just begun and things are already getting heated”, says the Supporters Association, which has a following of some 18,000 people. Not welcome
“We know we are not welcome with Vitesse and we can only fill half of the away seats in Utrecht. We already see it coming that for the next match against Feyenoord, De Kuip will allow none or only a few of us. We also know that PSV is looking at a spate of fines”, the statement says.
According to the association, transport companies are increasingly unwilling to make buses available to the supporters and that stewards are increasingly reluctant to offer their services during PSV matches.
“We have just had enough”, chairperson Rob Bogaarts says. “It does not matter if it was ten or two hundred people hanging from the nets in De Kuip. What matters is that no one should do a thing like that. If you want to climb you can visit a boulder gym.”
Talks
All these things add up, so the supporters association is in talks with PSV. “We had contact following the incidents and we will follow up on that conversation soon. We want to find ways to curb this outrageous behaviour. We are dealing with a small group that seems to be clueless as to the damage they are inflicting on the club and on the other supporters.”
Buses
Bogaarts says he has a few suggestions when it comes to possible measures. “Very simply, we could decide who gets to travel on the buses to away matches. The trips fall within the responsibility of the club but together we can use this measure to deny access to those who regularly make trouble. It is a heavy sanction, but we are left with little else”, says Bogaarts.
Since Covid, supporter violence has increased. The police already uttered their concerns about a group of young men who are impossible to keep in check. However, this is a generalisation Bogaarts is not yet ready to accept.
Part of the solution
“I also see some adults behaving in unacceptable ways, and not every young man is a thug. Rather, as supporters, we have to be part of the solution to the problem. Partly this is already happening; the person who threw a beer cup onto the pitch during a match against Ajax was reprimanded by the hardcore fans. This is the next step”, Bogaarts concludes.
