| England : Newcastle United supporter attacked fellow fan with bottle on train on way back from match in London - 02/03/2023
Source : https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/
Ryan V., of North Shields, was extremely drunk and had taken cocaine when he turned violent on his way back from a game against Tottenham
A Newcastle United supporter attacked a fellow fan with a bottle on a train on their way back from a match after a 19-hour drinking session.
Ryan V. was with other supporters heading back from an away game against Tottenham last year when troubled flared. In his heavily intoxicated state, he tried to get off the train with some other supporters in Durham but was stopped from doing so by people who were concerned he would end up stranded.
A court heard matters then turned violent when he picked up a bottle and hit another man over the head, leaving him bleeding profusely from a gash. Now the 23-year-old, of Willoughby Road, North Shields, has been given a suspended prison sentence and a football banning order.
Newcastle Crown Court heard it was around 10pm on April 3 last year than V. and other supporters were on a train with British Transport Police travelling back to the North East from watching Newcastle United play Tottenham in London. He had been drinking since the early hours of the morning and was very drunk and had consumed cocaine.
When the train got to Durham, CCTV shows a number of fans got off, with some of them patting V. on the shoulder and bidding him farewell. He then went to follow them off but another man put his finger on his top to stop him getting off at the wrong stop as he was due to travel on to Newcastle.
The court heard he became insistent about wanting to get off but others stopped him as they didn't want him to get stranded.
But V. then ended up picking up a bottle and hit one of the other supporters over the head and threw a punch at him. The victim suffered a gash to his head which bled heavily but he didn't want to make complaint to police.
V., 23, who has no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to affray and was sentenced to six months suspended for 12 months with a 12-week curfew between 8pm and 6am. He must also pay £200 costs and was given a three-year football banning order.
Joe Hedworth, defending, said: "He has absolutely no recollection whatsoever of this event. He doesn't know the person he hit.
"He was visibly horrified when he saw the video. He had been drinking from 3am until 10pm. He is greatly ashamed and very embarrassed.
"It appears the other person was taunting him and provoking him. He has never been in trouble before and he has now lost his good name, which is some significant punishment in itself."

| Switzerland: Seriously injured by a rubber bullet: Friburg fans accuse the cantonal police - 02/03/2023
Source: https://ajour.ch/
Ice hockey: Last Friday, following a match between Bienne and Gottéron, a Friburg fan was seriously injured by a rubber ball. The cantonal police are seriously reproached.
“During the match, verbal taunts repeatedly occurred between a group of home supporters and away supporters. At the end of the match, this led to a crowd of many visiting supporters outside the stadium, ”explains the Bernese cantonal police in a press release published on Monday.
“As part of this, the mob approached ever closer to the intervention forces, tore a police tape and threw stones at the intervention forces, damaging police vehicles, among other things. As a result, rubber bullets were briefly engaged by police forces. During the engagement, a supporter of the visitors was injured. He was immediately medically taken care of and taken to hospital by an ambulance team.

| Australie : Football fans charged over alleged Nazi salute - 04/03/2023Source : https://www.news.com.au/ Three Sydney football fans will appear in court next month after being charged with displaying a Nazi symbol during the Australia Cup final.Three men have been charged under new NSW laws which ban the display of Nazi imagery after an alleged hate crime incident during a football match at Parramatta’s Commbank Stadium last year. Police launched an investigation after a highly-charged Australia Cup final between Sydney United 58 and Macarthur FC last October. Followers of semi-professional club Sydney United were widely condemned after they allegedly raised their arms in Nazi salutes. Images from the match showed Sydney United 58 supporters throwing their arms up in apparent ‘Sieg Heil’ salutes, while some of their fellow fans reportedly sang a chant associated with a Croatian far-right movement. On Friday, after an extensive police investigation which involved detectives poring over hours of broadcast footage and CCTV, officers charged three men. Police issued a 24-year-old Beverley Park man with a court attendance notice and charged him with knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol without an excuse. A 44-year-old Doonside man and 45-year-old Wetherill Park man were charged with the same offence. All three will appear in Parramatta Local Court on April 19. | |

| Turkey : Bursaspor - Amedspor - 05/03/2023Source : https://www.thesun.co.uk/ Fans throw firecrackers and KNIFE in horrific scenes after team attacked on pitch in warm-up… but match NOT abandonedA match between Bursaspor and Amedspor descended into chaos as fans and players ran riot before, during and after their feisty encounter. Various videos on social media purported to show irate supporters hurling objects, including water bottles, firecrackers and a knife onto the pitch in Turkey. The home fans were also accused of singing anti-Kurdish chants throughout the game. Amedspor's own Instagram account shared a live video of the Bursaspor players storming onto the playing field and attacking their opponents as they warmed up. The brawl was later posted on the club's social media - with Amedspor labelling the incident an "attack" by Bursaspor's team. Incredibly, despite the violence beforehand, the game went ahead as planned. But the aggression continued throughout the 90 minutes, with fans throwing firecrackers onto the pitch. Worse still, one picture appeared to show a knife being picked up on the pitch after being thrown from the stands, as the atmosphere descended into madness. It has been reported MORE altercations continued after the final whistle. Amedspor have claimed they were assaulted by “private security supervisor, club security officer, club staff, and police officers" in the dressing room corridors. [/b] | |
