Iemmello had to be protected by stewards from the fury of his former fans.
The match ended 2-6 for the Calabrians against their Puglian rivals.
Iemmello's partner said "the violence was absurd, my little daughter was forced to see her dad attacked".
Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) prosecutors are weighing a probe into the fan violence.

RIOT POLICE were forced to break up ugly scenes as West Ham trounced Lyon in France to reach the semi-final of the Europa League.

And cops even had to use PEPPER SPRAY on some home fans to restore order after the final whistle.
