Union St Gilloise - Beerschot - 10/04/2022
Source : RTBF
The game between Union and Beerschot stopped after troubles, three points in sight for the Union
Union Saint-Gilloise received Beerschot for a clash of extremes. Already assured of going down, the Antwerpers played a voluntary game to hang on the Brussels leader. With the score still 0-0, Beerschot hooligans created scuffles in their turn. Some tried to enter the pitch by throwing firecrackers and smoke bombs on the pitch of of Duden Park. The police intervened by securing the ground. Alexandre Boucaut, the referee of the game, followed the protocol concerning the stoppages of the meeting. After about fifteen minutes of hesitation, he decided to send the 22 players back to the changing room permanently.
Union Saint-Gilloise should, logically, inherit the three points of the package that will be inflicted on Beerschot. The inhabitants of Brussels should thus finish the classic phase with 5 points ahead of Club Brugge, who beat Mechelen 3-0 for their last match of the classic phase.
"We had an exciting night of football and then you see this," Lorin Parys, the new Pro League chairman, wrote on Twitter. "It's totally unacceptable to see a few hotheads spoil everyone's fun. Such acts have no place in our stadiums. I phoned the two clubs and we will examine the file on Monday", punctuated Lorin Parys .
For Beerschot, it is the sad end of a poor season which saw the Beerschot club finish far in last place in the standings.

Clashes opposing Newport and Cardiff supporters at Swindon train station. Police intervention.

Swindon Town and Newport County fans kept apart by police before and after match
Swindon Town's promotion clash against Newport County ended in a devastating 1-0 defeat this afternoon.
But a huge number of police officers were on hand to prevent any trouble and keep the home and away supporters apart both before and after the match.
Horseback riders, police dogs and Devon and Cornwall officers joined forces with Wiltshire Police's officers to keep any potential disruption to a minimum. Some were armed with batons.
Police, including four mounted officers, surrounded the Newport fans and guided the crowd from the train station and the Great Western Hotel pub through town, down Fleming Way and safely to the County Ground.
At least ten police vans and two police cars were part of the effort to escort the supporters to the stadium.
Fleming Way was temporarily shut off to drivers to allow the group to walk from the train station to the County Ground.
Newport fans were in high spirits as they repeatedly sang 'Swindon gets battered everywhere they go' and other football chants.
Bemused Swindon residents took their phones out to film the spectacle along Fleming Way.
On arrival, five police vans were lined up along the Magic Roundabout by the Shrivenham Road entrance. About seven other vans were distributed between County Road and Shrivenham Road.
There was a brief chanting match between the two groups of fans but police successfully guided both sides along in time for the start of the match.
After an upsetting game for Swindon, there was a moment of tension outside The County Ground Hotel.
The Newport crowd chanted a rather insulting song about Swindon at a group of Town fans and this resulted in some jeering from both sides.
It was at this point that police decided to move the Newport fans on, back to the station.
There was heavy police presence throughout the day after Town fans have clashed with Newport in the past on a number of occasions.
In 2017, Newport visited the County Ground and four Town fans were sentenced after a brawl erupted at a Fleet Street pub.
And in 2019, police claimed up to 30 Town fans confronted Newport supporters on Fleming Way.
The official attendance records show that 11,408 home fans and 1,202 away fans watched today's match.

Port Vale yobs warned of 'repercussions' as trouble flares at match
Staffordshire Police are expecting to make a number of arrests after disorder broke out among a 'minority' of Vale and Oldham supporters.
Football fans involved in trouble as promotion-chasing Port Vale took on Oldham have been warned they will face 'repercussions'. Police are expecting to make a number of arrests after clashes at Vale Park yesterday (April 9).
They say a 'small minority' of supporters from both the home and away teams became involved in 'appalling' scenes after being 'intent on spoiling things'.
As a result, around 30 police officers and PSCOs escorted 100 travelling fans for around a mile along Newcastle Street in Burslem to Longport Station to avoid any further disorder following the game. The procession temporarily caused traffic mayhem in Burslem with Vale fans struggling to leave the ground.

Legia Warsaw ultras hang Vladimir Putin
On Saturday when their team moved to the lawn of Lech Poznan (1-1), the Ultras of Legia Warsaw deployed a tifo on which they had represented Russian President Vladimir Putin with a rope around his neck and wearing a Spartak Moscow jersey .
Recall that the Moscow club had been excluded from the Europa League by UEFA because of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. This ultras tifo from the Polish capital was intended for Poznan supporters who maintain a friendship with Spartak Moscow supporters.

France : Four months suspended sentence for two PSG fans after violence during Paris FC Lyon game - 10/04/2022
Source : https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/
As reported by L’Équipe, two PSG fans have received a suspended prison sentence of four months for their roles in inciting the violence seen in the stands during the Coupe de France game between Lyon and Paris FC in Paris earlier this season.
Both OL and PFC were ejected from the competition following the game’s abandonment at halftime due to the violence seen at Stade Charléty in Paris last December. Projectiles and flares were thrown and various mass fights broke out in the stands, forcing some onto the pitch.
A police investigation determined that the violence had started due to scuffles between OL ultras and some unidentified others, which turned out to be a small group linked to a section of PSG’s ultra base, which included the two men.
