Arsenal football supporters fight EACH OTHER inside the Emirates Stadium as fans argue over whether manager Arsene Wenger should leave the club
Arsenal fans were seen fighting among themselves at the Emirates during their 2-2 draw with Manchester City today.
It is a fractious time at the North London club over the managerial situation and it appears some fans have let their frustrations get the better of them. There is a split among supporters at the Premier League giants, with a campaign launched to get long-serving manager Arsene Wenger out of the club. Supporters in the home stands were caught brawling on bystanders' video in scenes reminiscent of Millwall's fans FA Cup semi-final shame from 2013, albeit on a far smaller scale. The group of men were seen grappling and swinging punches at each, with one even falling over his seat in the fight.
The fight, which took place during the match was broken up and the perpetrators ejected from the stadium. There is no indication over what caused the fight.

LFP says PSG must pay for stadium damage during Coupe de la Ligue final
The French Football League (LFP) has said Paris Saint-Germain will pay for the damage caused to Parc OL by their fans during Saturday's 4-1 Coupe de la Ligue final win over Monaco. Seats at Lyon's stadium, the venue for the showpiece match, were ripped up, toilets were smashed and anti-Lyon graffiti was daubed on walls. In a statement, the LFP said it "condemns the acts of vandalism committed yesterday evening by some PSG supporters at Parc OL after the Coupe de la Ligue final." The statement added: "These events have tarnished the great sporting and popular success of this first de-localised final. "In line with the regulations, Paris Saint-Germain must reimburse the cost of all of the very significant damage caused." The LFP's Disciplinary Commission will open an investigation on Thursday. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: "I cried about it last night. "There was damage just for damage's sake. It wasn't out of disappointment, but out of a desire to break what belongs to our fans. It really, really hurts." Suspicions over who caused the damage centred on the Collectif Ultra Paris (CUP) group of hardcore PSG fans.
L'Equipe reported the group did not present their banners and flags to the required security check, only arriving in Lyon late in the afternoon ahead of the evening kickoff. Around 60 flares, which would normally have been confiscated during security searches, were used in the PSG section. However, the CUP hit back in a statement to Le Parisien in which it condemned the damage caused. "These acts of vandalism are unacceptable," it said. "They don't correspond to our philosophy, nor our association's rules of behaviour. "We won't tolerate them. As a result, if we find that these actions are down to CUP members, we'll take our responsibilities and put into action the punishments laid down in our charter." The group's vice-president, known only as Mika, claimed the CUP had respected all the instructions given. "We had to do our own security -- it was a real mess," he said. "There were no searches, tickets weren't even checked, and our block was supposed to be secured by stewards. "That wasn't the case, and there were a number of intruders."

AIK Solna - BK Häcken - 02/04/2017
Source : https://www.washingtonpost.com/
Swedish soccer hooligans wear Muslim niqabs to get around newly imposed mask ban
Swedish government officials thought they had the perfect solution to curtail violent behavior by masked soccer fans — ban their face coverings. The new law, passed in January and enacted in March, was supposed to prevent extremist fans from “disguising all or part of their face so as to make it more difficult to be identified,” according to the bill’s language (via Sweden’s Local newspaper). To make sure the bill didn’t infringe on anyone’s religious rights, however, the law offers an exemption for “people who cover their face for religious reasons.” Well, it appears soccer is now a religion in Sweden. On Sunday, during the Stockholm club AIK’s season opener against BK Häcken, several dozen of AIK’s most boisterous fans — known as “ultras” — traded their masks for niqabs, the traditionally Muslim face covering that obscures the entire face except the eyes. To really rub it in, AIK’s extremists also unfurled two gigantic banners with a message for Interior Secretary Anders Ygeman, who spearheaded the legislation. “AIK’s ultras mean well. We’re now wearing masks for religious reasons,” the first banner read. “Freedom for ultras is the ultimate goal,” the second banner continued. “Thanks, Ygeman, for the loophole.” The masked ultras then lit up a bunch of flares because with their faces still obscured, it was still business per usual.
Although the law was supposed to land those who wore masks to games in jail for up to sixth months, it appears the only consequence the ultras’ antics earned on Sunday was a good laugh from Ygeman. “In all honesty I thought the banner was quite funny,” the politician told Swedish sports tabloid Sports Bladet. “It shows that AIK fans have a bit of humor.” However, the relationship between some of these extremist fans and Muslims living in Sweden hasn’t been a laughing matter. In late January, several AIK ultras, as well as ultras from rival team Djurgården, stormed a train station in Stockholm to attack anyone who looked foreign. One of the attackers who spoke to the Daily Mail under the protection of anonymity said the attack came in response to what they saw as ineffective policing in the face of growing crime perceived to be committed by migrants.
“We feel the police are not doing their job,” the ultra said. “Our wives, girlfriends and daughters cannot feel safe in the center parts of Stockholm during the night. We feel that this is shameful for a country like Sweden and wanted to make a statement that it is not okay.” Instead of attacking criminals, however, the group of about 50 people ended up targeting innocent people, many of whom were children, according to one witness. “Most of the kids who got beaten were just ordinary people born and raised in Sweden,” train station worker Johanna Brixander told the Daily Mail. “Their hair color just happened to not be blonde.” The stadium mask ban was intended to eliminate this feeling of impunity, but it may have actually complicated matters, as local police warned late last year when the bill was still being debated. “We think it will be complicated for spectators to know where the line is between what is allowed and what is not,” national police legal director Lars Tonneman said in September (via the Local). “It will make it pointlessly difficult for police on the ground to decide when a masked face is due to religious conviction or when the person is using it as a false pretext.” Police also worry about having to subject people to religious tests in the stands to figure out who might be taking advantage of the law’s “loophole.”
The chief executive of the Swedish Football League, who supported the passage of the bill earlier this year, isn’t worried the legislation will put anyone’s constitutional rights in danger. “There has never previously been a problem in identifying the difference between someone who has religious reasons to cover their face and someone who is doing so with the intent of committing criminal acts,” Mats Enquist told the Local last year. “In practice it is very clear what the purpose is.” Ygeman, meanwhile, said he doesn’t expect to see a “niqab trend” as the country’s soccer season progresses. He told Sport Bladet he thinks Sunday’s protest was a one-time event, and not one directed against migrants, Muslims or any other group, but just him in particular.
“This is just a taunt as I understand it,” the Swedish politician said. “There are still real problems in the stands. People throwing bang snaps and so on. But people poking fun at government officials in the stands? It is not a problem.”

Police arrest 26 after Universidad de Chile supporters throw seats in Copa Sudamericana clash with Corinthians
Brazilian police have arrested 26 people after fans ripped off seats at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo and charged officers. Police say at least four people were wounded and taken to hospitals after Wednesday's incident during the Copa Sudamericana play-off match between Corinthians and Universidad de Chile. According to Sao Paulo police, five leaders of a Universidad de Chile fan group removed seats before the match began.
Those five were detained during half-time, but other fans then reacted against police and were also arrested. In a short video posted on Twitter by FOX Sports Brazil, the police can be seen being heavy-handed with the away section, who in turn threw seat into the home crowd as they were ejected at the interval.
Corinthians says it will charge Universidad de Chile for the damages, with the visitors eventually defeated 2-0 in the Copa Sudamericana play-off. While a minority of the away supporters were of little credit to the club, the players failed gave a good account of themselves on the pitch until Rodrigo Marinho broke the deadlock for the hosts against the run of play.

FC Twente - PSV Eindhoven - 06/04/2017

Incredible moment police storm the stands in a DRUGS RAID during a Dutch top division football match
Violence reigned when Dutch police decided to carry out a drugs raid in the middle of a crunch match between Eredivisie sides FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven. Officers with riot shields and batons were filmed fighting hardcore FC Twente fans as they searched for drugs in the stadium in the eastern Netherlands. But even as chaos reigned the match continued.
Players were seen glancing up in amazement as loudspeakers ordered that all supporters leave the Grolsch Veste stadium. The wild scenes continued outside the stadium, with riot police fighting pitched battles against furious FC Twente supporters.
Hooligans threw stones at police, who used horse charges to help disperse the crowd. Local Dutch media reported that one female office was pulled from her horse and brutally assaulted by several supporters.
Three Twente fans were arrested for their part in the altercations and two more also taken into custody outside the stadium. The arrests were in connection with a large-scale narcotics operation. Police reported seizing a large quantity of drugs and some fake weapons in the home of some of the supporters.
A police spokesman said: 'Intelligence showed that the biggest chance to find drugs was during a match. We understand that the timing of the action raises lots of questions, but the momentum was crucial. 'The raid around the home of Section P has been extensively prepared. We also thought through the flow of people leaving the stadium.' A police spokeswoman said to Fox Sports: 'We have to do this during the match, because only during the match are many drugs present'.
The Twente board however said they were completely unaware of the police raid. In a statement on their website they said: 'During the match between Twente and PSV police searched the home of Block P following signs of possible drug trafficking. 'FC Twente is completely surprised by this action.' The mayor of Enschede, Onno van Veldhuizen, said Section P was a bastion of 'organised crime' and that biker gangs had infiltrated the Twente supporters home.
Section P is notorious as one of the most fanatical group of supporters in the Eredivisie. In a match in 2013 Twente bragged about their drug with banner that read: 'Hashish, coke and pills, this way we hit the road on Sunday.' The supporters may have had the last laugh thought. With the stadium half-empty, FC Twente grabbed a decisive equaliser and all-but-ended PSV's title chances for another season.

Gillingham FC - Millwall FC - 08/04/2017

Extra police for Gillingham’s League 1 match against Millwall
A major security operation was today underway amid fears of violence surrounding Gillingham’s League 1 match against Millwall. Police were out in force inside and outside the Priestfield Stadium for the 3pm game to prevent clashes between rival fans. Reporter Luke Cawdell was at the match and reported an incident in the 19th minute where, "Gillingham's Lee Martin was delayed taking a corner kick as coins were thrown onto pitch."
He said: "They didn't hit him but did pass a coin to the referee". Later in the second half Millwall equalised making the score 1-1 and the ref had to pick up a bottle thrown at Gills keeper Tomas Holy in the 72nd minute.
Trouble flared when the sides last met in the town, with eight fans arrested for a variety of offences, including one for assaulting a police officer.
A number of people were also ejected from the ground and several moved from the home section.
The game is crucial for both teams as the Gills are fighting to avoid relegation and Millwall are chasing a place in the play-offs. The visitors have been allocated 2,395 tickets for the game, in the Brian Moore Stand, but there could be others in home areas of the ground.
