Chelsea and Tottenham fans clash yards from Stamford Bridge as heated London derby turns nasty
CHELSEA and Tottenham fans had to be separated by police as trouble brewed just yards from Stamford Bridge.
The atmosphere quickly turned sour when a large group of Tottenham fans were being escorted away from the stadium.
Outnumbering a section of home supporters, they started throwing insults at each other as a handful of police attempted to cool the situation.
Bottles and a traffic cone were launched in the trouble with one supporter attempting to goad their rivals by standing on a car.
The incident happened outside La Reserve Hotel on Fulham Road, just yards from Stamford Bridge.
Joe Forrester, who captured it all on camera, told the Daily Mail: "Chelsea fans all came running out of the hotel bar when Spurs fans came past and it went from there.
"I filmed from the roof of La Reserve Hotel on Fulham Road and it all kicked off."
Police horses were called into action but the crowd soon dispersed.

Crewe and Port Vale fans fight on pitch during League Two match as police confirm two arrests
AT least two fans were arrested as rival supporters brawled on the pitch during Monday’s derby clash between Crewe and Port Vale.
Over 100 officers were on duty for the League Two showdown but the extra presence failed to stop hooligans from causing trouble both in and out of the ground.
And the bad blood between the two sets of fans spilled onto the pitch as footage shows a number of stewards battling to separate Crewe and Vale followers from fighting each other near the corner flag.
The clip finishes with what appears to be an elderly fan gingerly being led out of the ground by medics.
Cheshire Police confirmed after the clash that two men were arrested after the disturbing scenes at Alexandra Stadium.
Cops say the two individuals were banged up for public disorder and assault
Trouble began before the two sides fought out a 2-2 draw as a young woman was left needing medical attention.
Paramedics were called after the female suffered an asthma attack due to two smoke bombs being let off in Bar 7 on Nantwich Road close to the ground.
As part of the planned police operation to cut out trouble, pubs in the town centre were closed at 3pm in an attempt to stop ticketless fans congregating with the risk of a potential flare-up.
The attendance was just over 6,800 for the game, with 2,250 travelling supporters.

Man City bus has windows smashed by Liverpool fans throwing missiles ahead of Champions League match
Liverpool issued an unreserved apology after condemning supporters for attacking the Manchester City team bus with bottles, cans, flares and firecrackers as it arrived at Anfield ahead of their Champions League tie.
City were forced to source a new coach to take Pep Guardiola and his squad home to Manchester after the original bus was no longer deemed roadworthy as a result of the damage caused.
In disgraceful scenes that were also deplored by Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, the front window of the bus was smashed as well as the driver’s door after being peppered by missiles. No one inside the bus was hurt.
The incident raised questions about Liverpool and Merseyside Police’s decision to issue a tweet broadcasting changes to the route the buses were taking to the ground.
Liverpool vowed to work with Merseyside Police and the authorities to root out the culprits, with City hoping those responsible will be prosecuted. Uefa, who took pictures of the damaged bus, could also launch an investigation.
Klopp condemned the behaviour. “We tried everything to avoid a situation like that. When we came through it was obviously very positive. From Liverpool FC all I can do is say sorry.”
In a statement, Liverpool said: “The club condemns in the strongest possible terms the scenes which preceded our Champions League quarter-final, which resulted in damage being inflicted on the Manchester City team bus during their arrival at Anfield.
“We apologise unreservedly to Pep Guardiola, his players, staff and officials caught up in the incident. The behaviour of a number of individuals was completely unacceptable and the club will cooperate fully with the authorities to identify those responsible.

Mass brawl involving 50 football fans in Ancoats ahead of Manchester derby
Trouble erupted on the streets of Manchester city centre ahead of this afternoon’s derby day clash at the Etihad.
Dramatic pictures and footage show a gang of around 40-50 men wearing black storming their way down Bengal Street in Ancoats.
One man was viciously beaten to the ground and stamped on. Traffic cones and road signs from a nearby building site were hurled across the road.
The gang chanted Manchester City songs and set off a blue flare.
They fled in different directions as police arrived.
Greater Manchester Police say two men have been arrested.
Images taken just afterwards show officers with batons drawn facing off against the yobs.
Some men were pinned to the ground by police, others handcuffed and led away with bloodied faces.
Police dogs and the mounted unit were also drafted in.
At least two dozen men were kettled on a nearby street by around 30 officers.
One witness, who lives on Bengal Street, described what happened. He said: “It was completely quiet one minute, then the next there was all this shouting. I looked out of the window and people were fighting and throwing signs and setting off flares.
“Some had cuts and were bleeding.
“Then police came and they all ran off.”
It’s understood that shops in the area around Piccadilly have been told by police to stop selling alcohol.
Shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday 7 April 2018, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Jersey Street in the city centre.
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to a disturbance on Jersey Street at around 3.30pm.
A spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of public order and a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
"Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing."

30 football supporters arrested after fights in Utrecht, on the A12
Some 30 football supporters were arrested on Saturday night after fights broke out between supporters from various teams in both Utrecht city and alongside the nearby A12 motorway.
RTL Nieuws reports that the trouble broke out in Utrecht between fans from ADO Den Haag, Utrecht and Feyenoord and then shifted to a motorway services station. The A12 had to be closed for a time after supporters ran onto the road itself when the police arrived.
ADO Den Haag has now issued an urgent appeal for supporters not to travel to Utrecht for Sunday’s key league match.
The city’s mayor Jan van Zanen has also said that supporters from The Hague are not welcome ‘because of fights, the dangerous situation on the A12 and the risk of a repeat on Sunday’.
‘Football violence will not be tolerated,’ the mayor said.
