Red Star win Serbian derby marred by crowd trouble
Former European Cup winners Red Star Belgrade edged closer to a record 28th Serbian league title by beating champions and bitter city foes Partizan 2-1 on Saturday in yet another derby marred by crowd trouble.
Unruly scenes broke out midway through the second half in the west tier of Red Star's Rajko Mitic stadium, when rival fans ripped up seats and hurled them at each other before riot police moved in.
Play resumed after being suspended for five minutes as the officials and players stood on the pitch and waited for the situation to be brought under control.
Plagued by a history of violence down the years, the fixture for once appeared to be headed for an incident-free climax before the clashes broke out.
Parents with young children were forced to flee as seats and flares were hurled.
“Regrettably, the Belgrade derby has once again sent an ugly picture to the audience at home and abroad,” Partizan coach Miroslav Djukic told a news conference.
Red Star coach Vladan Milojevic said: "It was a very unpleasant situation and it’s a pity that the crowd trouble took away some of the derby joy for the players because this is not what we want to see.”
A scuffle also broke out on the pitch after Ognjen Ozegovic netted a stoppage-time penalty for Partizan, with his team mate Seydouba Souma and Red Star's Mitchell Donald being sent off by referee Danilo Grujic after the melee.

Dozens of masked 'football hooligans' brawl and throw smoke canisters during sickening fight in Cheltenham
Smoke canisters were thrown during a mass brawl as dozens of suspected football hooligans descended on Cheltenham town centre today.
Concerned shopkeepers working along the Promenade and Montpellier called the police at around 10.40am amid reports around 40 men were fighting and throwing green smoke canisters.
Police believe the disorder may be linked to the football match between Forest Green Rovers and Cheltenham Town which was due to kick-off at 3pm.
Some of the group were wearing black long-sleeved shirts with a white logo on the arm, baseball caps and balaclavas, Gloucestershire Live reports.
The men then moved across the town centre.
A police spokesman said: "Police want to reassure the public that violent disorder will not be tolerated and we will ensure that we identify those responsible and make arrests.
"We do not want this type of public affray to escalate or to see anyone injured."

England: Boro hooligan banned from football for four years after trouble at Sunderland derby - 15/04/2018
Source : https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/
David F., 35, has been banned from going to football matches after a day of trouble at the January FA Cup tie
A football yob has been banned from entering grounds across the country after trouble at the Tees-Wear derby.
David F., 35, was banned for four years by magistrates after he admitted a public order offence on the day of the January 6 FA Cup tie between Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
Teesside Magistrates’ Court fined Fagan, of Cranmore Road, Pallister Park, Middlesbrough, £180 and ordered he pay £85 costs and £30 charges.
A previous hearing had heard a police officer spotted F. punching another man outside the Riverside Stadium.
That case was adjourned after his solicitor said Fagan’s guilty plea was only being entered on the basis that his version of events was taken into account.
After Wednesday’s hearing, a Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “This ban sets a strong example to those attending matches with the intent of causing disorder before during or after the game that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and will lead to a substantial banning order.
“Banning orders are there to ensure that everyone can enjoy the game without fear of violence or antisocial behaviour and we will continue to work with partner agencies to ensure that football remains a safe and pleasant environment for all.”
F. is not the only Boro fan to find himself in bother after the derby, which saw 10 arrests after a raft of trouble between the two sets of supporters.
Boro football hooligan Gareth C. claimed a Sunderland fan he struck in self defence had spat in his face after calling him a “paedo”.
But magistrates didn’t believe him and still found him guilty of a public order offence, and will sentence him on May 15.
C. was given a five year banning order in March - his third ban - after a court heard of a catalogue of disorder at Middlesbrough games during the club’s run in the Premier League.
However the 34-year-old, of Bournemouth Avenue, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, was not present on March 9 to hear those details, and indicated to the court he would be appealing that ban at the Crown Court.
Police will apply for another banning order for him when he is sentenced.
After Boro’s 2-0 win in the third round tie, there were heated scenes in the streets and at Middlesbrough Railway Station and some Sunderland fans were caught short.
Police formed a human ring to contain around 1,500 Sunderland supporters near the station, as police dogs were needed to keep fans apart.
Inside the station, police struggled to hold fans back from barging onto the platform.

PSV Eindhoven - Ajax Amsterdam - 15/04/2018
Source : http://www.foxsportsasia.com/
Ajax Amsterdam's team bus was reportedly confronted and stopped by angry supporters following Sunday's 3-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven, which secured the Eredivisie title for Boeren.
When the bus departed the Philips Stadion on Sunday for the Amsterdam Arena, a large group of Ajax fans blocked its pathway and despite police being present, supporters were able to confront the team directly about the performance.
According to Voetbal International, the action taken saw Chief Executive Officer and former Manchester United goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar, forced to step into the breach to answer questions from the irate de Godenzonen faithful.
The publication said that van der Sar was asked to resign though he answered that this was not possible. In addition, manager Erik ten Hag and some of the players spoke to fans outside of the vehicle in which they were traveling.
It is said club personnel were left shaken as certain supporters were able to enter the bus to express their frustrations, while police and security officials were unable to intervene.
De Telegraaf also reported that chants of 'Ajax is no longer Ajax' were sung out and demands issued that Morocco attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech must never play for the team again.
Ajax have yet to respond to the incident although it is thought the club will make a statement in the coming days on the matter.

Levski Sofia - CSKA Sofia - 18/04/2018

Police officer injured by explosion during derby match
A policewoman was seriously injured following an explosion at the Vasil Levski Stadium during Levski Sofia's Bulgarian league match with city rivals CSKA.
The officer was hit by broken glass after a device exploded near a stadium entrance, police officials confirmed.
"She underwent surgery but there are many pieces of glass on her face and in the eye," police chief commissioner Anton Zlatanov said.
"It's not a firework, it's a bomb."
Zlatanov added that "more than 20 Levski fans" were detained after the 2-2- draw.
The Sofia derby has a long history of crowd violence.
In 2000, a man was killed by a bomb after the game and in 2014, then CSKA coach Stoycho Mladenov said he was knocked unconscious by a snowball thrown from Levski fans.
Last year, three members of CSKA Sofia's coaching staff were hit after fans threw firecrackers and stones during a league match.
