Huddersfield Town fans fighting after QPR match warned they can expect a visit from police
Huddersfield Town fans involved in fighting at the Queens Park Rangers fixture on Saturday have been warned they may face a knock on the door by police.
Metropolitan Police tweeted this after the 1-1 draw at the Loftus Road stadium in London attended by hundreds of Town fans and say they are receiving help from West Yorkshire Police and Huddersfield Town Football Club.
Three ejections, two arrests and one refused entry.
"Not happy to have received reports of fighting outside the stadium. CCTV will be viewed. You may be getting a visit if and when you are identified.
One Town fan said: "All I could see from where I was is someone in the upper tier punching one of the stewards.
"I had an escort out of QPR due to violence within the ground from people from Huddersfield, not sure I'd call them fans, most of them not in HTFC colours.
"Forty years a Town fan and my away games might be coming to an end, the QPR stewards didn't steward our fans when we got the penalty. I certainly didn't feel safe.
"And towards end of the game some of our so-called senior fans, blokes old enough to know better, beckoning the QPR fans with some awful actions."
And one QPR fan tweeted: "Huddersfield fans up there with the worst I’ve ever seen to be honest, even by northerners' standards" though it was unclear what had sparked his ire.
Huddersfield Town Football Club has been approached for comment.

Wednesday Plzen did a hit ‘n run on normal Antwerp fans. We went looking for them, no succes. The next day we had their number from another firm, contacted them for a confro but all they did was apologies. After the match we lost the police with 35 Antwerp lads, went to a park en send Plzen location. After 10/15 minutes 1 guy came, walks to us and throws a glass in our group, runs into the street. We went after him, in the street 25 Plzen lads waited with weapons...we attacked them! Although with weapons still on the run, police very quick on location, couple lads arrested. Antwerp on tour! To be continued...

Homophobic chanting halts Ligue 2 match between Nancy and Le Mans
Referee Mehdi Mokhtari brought the game to a halt in the first half as part of new regulations aimed at decreasing discrimination in French football.
Supporters had been warned to stop their chanting over the stadium's loudspeaker system and Mokhtari stopped play when the songs continued.
RMC Sport reports the chants were aimed at the French Football League (LFP) and local rivals FC Metz.
Play resumed after Nancy players pleaded with fans to stop and they went on to win 2-1 despite having two players sent off, scoring the winner from the penalty spot five minutes into added time.
A tweet from Secretary of State for Gender Equality & Anti Discrimination Marlene Schiappa read: "Congratulations to referee Mehdi Mokhtari for having bravely interrupted the match against homophobic songs sung at Nancy - Le Mans, as allowed by the rules. Football is an exciting sport. It must remain so for all."

Old grudge between Honduras football fans sparks riot that kills three
Three people were killed and at least 10 injured in riots Saturday night before a football match between rival teams after suspected fans attacked a bus carrying one of the two teams to the game, wounding three players, officials and the team said.
Fans of the Olimpia and Motagua football teams, bitter local opponents, rioted outside Tegucigalpa’s National Stadium after a crowd of people believed to be rival supporters intercepted and vandalized a bus transporting Motagua players, police said.
“Three people died and seven were shot and stabbed. One of them is a boy. Three of the injured adults are in critical condition,” Laura Schoenherr, a spokeswoman for the state University School Hospital, told Reuters.
The riot broke out after crowds threw stones at the bus carrying members of the Motagua team, sending shards of window glass at the players inside, according to the Motagua club, which blamed members of the Ultra-Faithful Olimpia fan club.
“This has to be severely sanctioned by the corresponding authorities,” the Motagua club said in a tweet. “Reprehensible and lamentable,” it added in another tweet.
Three of the players - Emilio Izaguirre, Roberto Moreira and Jonathan Rougier - were transferred to hospital with facial wounds, the Motagua club said.
Accompanying video purported to show players in blue uniforms standing in the still-moving bus beside smashed windows and a glass bottle rolling on a seat. “A rock! A rock! There! There!” someone shouts as a siren blares.
A statement from the Ministry of Security confirmed the bus attack and said its perpetrators wore the uniforms of the rival Olimpia team. The ministry added in the statement that it had set up “five rings of security” ahead of the game.
The National Football League suspended the game after the incident. It had expected some 20,000 fans to attend.
The president of Olympia club, Rafael Villeda, told local press that he would meet with the leadership of the National League and Motagua to decide on the future of the game.
