GLASGOW RANGERS FANS CAUGHT UP IN VIOLENCE ON STREETS OUTSIDE IBROX AHEAD OF EUROPA LEAGUE MATCH VERSUS OSIJEK



Fighting has broken out in the streets outside Ibrox ahead of Rangers' Europa League clash against Osijek.

Footage shows one man being punched and kicked while on the ground multiple times as another person throws a flare.

Tweets in response to the footage suggested Croatian fans were attacking home supporters prior to the match.

Two men have been rushed to hospital after being stabbed prior to Rangers' Europa League clash against Osijek.

There were brawls in the streets of Glasgow outside Ibrox before kick-off including what was described as a 'large scale disturbance'.

Two men, aged 24 and 40, were taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, report Glasgow Live.

Their condition is described as stable.

Serbian police arrest Croatian hooligans

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday that more than 400 Croatian football fans had been stopped and searched on a highway, and that a large quantity of metal and wood bars, several axes and flares, and a small quantity of narcotics was found in the process.

According to him, 32 fans were brought in the police stations in Nis and Grocka and will be taken before prosecutors and misdemeanor judges.

"The police found the goods stolen from the gas station near Vrcin in possession of some of the fans, specifically, cigarettes, beverages, and toys with excise stamps of the Republic of Serbia," Stefanovic said, and added:

"Because of the rioting at the gas station, 28 fans will be brought before a misdemeanor judge, and could face from 30 to 60 days in prison if found guilty."

STURM GRAZ have hit out at the fan that left an assistant referee needing stitches after he was hit with a missile thrown from the stands.

The Austrian outfit had been playing Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in the Europa League when the match was stopped with Swedish official, Fredrik Klyver, on the ground.

In a statement on their website, Sturm Graz said: "This behaviour of a fan in today's Uefa Europa League game is by no means acceptable. This damages the reputation of football and us as a club.

"We always try to see football as a positive celebration and to tackle these things. Fair play is our top priority.

"We are sorry that today we have disappointed many football fans."

Stefan Johannesson, head of the Swedish FA, revealed to the Swedish press that Klyver was taken to hospital and needed stitches.

Children and police injured in brawl at Middlesbrough-Sheffield United football match



Children as young as 10 have been injured as more than 200 football fans fought in a coach park, police said.

Officers arrested five people as fighting broke out following the Middlesbrough v Sheffield United game on Saturday, which left one officer in hospital.

Disorder began just before the final whistle when Blades fans thought their team had nabbed a last-minut equaliser, only for it to be disallowed.

Those arrested are currently in custody, with Cleveland Police saying they expect to make more arrests as the investigation continues.

Dozens of police and stewards tried to keep the clash under control as it continued in the coach park.

One police officer was injured and taken to hospital.

Assistant Chief Constable Jason Harwin said: "We will absolutely not tolerate violence of this nature and we will work to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.
