Two fans arrested after Man City and Lyon supporters clash in the streets outside Etihad Stadium following Champions League tie - 20/09/2018
Source : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Two fans have been arrested following a brawl between Manchester City and Lyon supporters on Wednesday night after their Champions League match at the Etihad Stadium.
A video on social media showed fans of both clubs fighting in the streets outside a shop late on Wednesday as other supporters made their way home.
The Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that two people have been arrested for affray and they are working with the club as an investigation continues.
The video posted on social media shows two groups of fans throwing objects at each other and exchanging blows in the doorway of a local shop.
One group, labelled as Lyon fans on social networking sites, stay primarily inside the shop as they throw items out toward what is thought to be home supporters.
Someone can be heard screaming 'get out' as other fans make their way home, with the video taken from across the other side of the street.
The number of fans outside the shop then seems to dramatically grow as they hurl objects at those still standing in the doorway.
One man running into the shop appeared to knock another person unconscious on his way in, prompting the commotion to calm down.
Following that incident, people can be heard repeatedly saying 'stop, stop, stop.'

Indonesia : Persib Bandung - Persija Jakarta - 23/09/2018

Indonesian footy fan killed by rival fans
A football fan has been killed in Indonesia after he was set upon by a group of supporters of an opposing team two hours before the rival top tier teams were due to play.
Haringga Sirla, a supporter of Persija Jakarta, died on Sunday after he was attacked by Persib Bandung fans in Bandung, police spokesman Yoris Maulana said.
West Java governor Ridwan Kamil condemned the killing.
"I deeply regret and deplore the barbaric action of some supporters who tarnished Persib's hard-fought victory," Ridwan, who watched the match in the stadium, wrote in an Instagram post.
Persib beat Persija 3-2 in the match.
Sirla, 23, was the sixth person to have died in clashes between Persib and Persija supporters since 2012.
Persija had warned supporters ahead of Sunday's match against travelling to Bandung over fears of clashes with rival fans.

Mexico : Tigres UANL - CF Monterrey - 24/09/2018
Source : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Police FLEE the scene as a huge street melee breaks out between rival soccer supporters in Mexico - leaving one man seriously injured
A police cruiser abandoned the scene of a violent melee when supporters from rival Mexican soccer clubs clashed on Sunday - leaving one home club fan savagely beaten in the middle of the street.
The violent clash occurred at about 6:30PM local time, a half hour before the visiting side from Monterrey played to a scoreless draw at UANL in a match between two of the Liga MX's rival clubs.
Rodolfo Manuel Palomo Gamez, 21, who was on his way to support the Tigres, was hospitalized due to the serious injuries he suffered at the hands of a group of revelers who fled the area.
Palomo Gamez was diagnosed with head trauma and a punctured lung, the result of a stabbing during the ugly incident.
As fans from Los Rayados [The Stripped Ones] inched closer to the band of local supporters, mostly wearing yellow shirts, a police cruiser stationed idly between both angry groups abruptly decided it wanted no part of the fracas and sped away.
An unidentified driver then came into the scene, moving the car erratically sideways, trying to run over a scattering crowd, mostly male Tigres supporters.
The vehicle then turned left into the same street the cop cruiser had sped off into and narrowly missed making contact with a handful of bystanders as a few stumbled to the ground out of harm's way.

'INTOLERABLE' Lyon blasts own fans as ‘ridiculous and hateful’ for branding rival city Marseille ‘AIDS-ridden hellhole’
The yobs, calling themselves the Kop Virage Nord (North End Kop), wrote: "Tonight we host one of the clubs we hate the most after our Saint Etienne neighbours.
"Everything is hateful about them. Their dirty city, their self-righteous club, their unbearable accent and their so-called anti-racist fans who are instead anti-French.
"Let's hoist the North End flag high against the Southern pox, and sink the Marseille ship.
"Marseille is a city riven by AIDS."
Fights broke out between rival fans during the game, which Lyon won 4-2.
Embarrassed Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: "The fans' leaflet is ridiculous and hateful. One per cent of our fans mark themselves out by these absurd actions.
"We could take legal action against them. The club's image is being damaged by certain supporters, and it is intolerable."
Lyon added in a statement: "We condemn the hateful leaflet distributed by some fans on the North End.

Five football fans arrested for violence, including police officer
Portugal’s public security police (PSP) on Wednesday arrested five men belonging to a Boavista football fan club, including a police officer, for crimes related to physical assault in the Azores islands.
The arrested men, aged between 31 and 43, belonging to the “Black Panthers” fan club, had travelled to the Azores a few days before a game between local side Santa Clara and Boavista football club on Saturday, according to a statement from the PSP.
The suspects “provoked disputes and violent physical assaults on five restaurant employees”, the PSP said, as well as causing material damage in the establishment.
According to the PSP, on Monday it was not possible to locate and arrest the five suspects. Four of them were prevented from leaving Ponta Delgada airport and another was prevented from leaving the Terceira island airport.

Salford City - Hartlepool United - 25/09/2018

Police called to Salford City ground after 'mass brawl' mars dramatic win over Hartlepool United
A brawl reported to involve 'up to 40 fans' kicked off at Salford City's ground after the team's dramatic win over Hartlepool United.
Police, who were called to a clash at Moor Lane in Kersall at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, said they were able to quickly disperse the troublemakers.
There have been no reported injuries from the incident, although a door is understood to have been broken in the ruckus.
At 10.20pm, a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said away fans were boarding buses to leave the ground and that the scene had been controlled.
There had not been a police presence at the game.
He added: "It looks like there was some disorder after the game, with reports of 40 people fighting. Police attended and the crowd was dispersed.
"There was some disorder with away fans. We were there within seven minutes and there was a degree of separation.
"There is no indication of any arrests or of any crimes being committed other than possible damage to a door."
Chris Ogden, who was at the game, said: "By the time I left the ground there were already around ten police cars and vans on Moor Lane.
"Apparently the stadium's main door was smashed and groups of fans were mouthing off and throwing stones at one another.
"It was quite a tense game up until the first goal so I understand why tempers were frayed.
"I've been going to Salford City games for over ten years and have never experienced any trouble at Moor Lane before. Hopefully it will just be a one-off."

Hockey : DVTK - Zvolen - 21/09/2018

Zvolen Ultras Riot at Ice Hockey Game in Hungary
An ice hockey game between DVTK Jegesmedvek Miskolc and HKM Zvolen (0-5) in Slovakia’s ice-hockey premier league Tipsport Liga, which for the first time ever also features two Hungarian teams, was disrupted in Miskolc, Hungary on Friday by riots involving masked hooligans present in the Zvolen fan sector.
Members of the Ultras Zvolen group, who had masked their faces with scarves, tore down a barrier separating them from the home fans and began beating them. The police were called to intervene and the start of the third period of the game had to be postponed.
“There were some 200 fans aged around 20 wearing black shirts in the Zvolen sector. Some 10 or 15 of them began brawling with the security service, they invaded the neighbouring zone, where children, women and the elderly were also present, and began kicking them. The security service didn’t react properly, as it hadn’t dealt with such a situation before. We had to wait for the police to intervene. Until their arrival, the away-side fans kept kicking and punching everyone who happened to be nearby. The police cleared out the away-side sector before long. They’re now asking people to provide video recordings of the incident in order to be able to launch investigation,” a home fan, Oliver Ban, wrote on a social network.
“I was at the stadium with my three-year old daughter, so you can imagine how I’m feeling now. I’m finally at home, but there were people who got kicked to their heads, there was blood, everything … This wasn’t a hockey game, but a war. This happened when the away-side had a 4-0 lead. I don’t understand this,” he added.
Zvolen coach Andrej Podkonicky apologised for the incident at a press conference following the match and the HKM Zvolen leadership held an extraordinary meeting on Saturday. In an official release, it condemned the riots, pointing out that they were perpetrated by a group that isn’t the team’s official fan club.
“Our club distances itself and strongly condemns the hooligan behaviour and riots by this group, which has shamed not only our club, but also all decent fans in Slovakia. We apologise to Miskolc fans and we ensure everyone that we’ll introduce stricter entrance conditions for such persons at events organised by HKM, which has zero tolerance for violence and discrimination,” stated HKM Zvolen, adding that the ultras group will be banned from Zvolen matches with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, HKM Zvolen stated that it will fully cooperate with the Hungarian police in identifying and punishing the rioters.

Germany : Hamburg derby could bring huge trouble - 29/09/2018
Source : https://www.besoccer.com/
Police in Germany are expecting more than a thousand hooligans to clash with trouble already brewing ahead of Sunday's league match when Hamburg and St Pauli meet in the city's first derby for seven years.
After 55 years in the Bundesliga, Hamburg's relegation last May means there will be a league derby in the Hanseatic city for the first time since 2011, when St Pauli last played in Germany's top flight.
Hamburg's Volksparkstadion ground, which will host the second-division match with a sellout crowd of 57,000 expected, is just 6.5 kilometres (4 miles) from St Pauli's more modest Millerntor stadium.
Police are on high alert with the match to kick off at 1330 local time (1130 GMT).
"We anticipate a much higher than average police mobilisation," said Hamburg police spokesman Timo Zill.
"We will be very present and will monitor the situation."
Trouble was brewing in the city long before kick-off.
Last week, 20 hardcore St Pauli fans attacked a group of six Hamburg supporters, leaving two in hospital.
In return, life-sized dolls, in the brown and white colours of St Pauli, were hanged from eight bridges across Hamburg on Tuesday.
There is no love lost between the rival fans.
Supporters of Hamburg, back-to-back German champions in the early 1980s and European champions in 1983, regard themselves as the city's main club.
St Pauli, whose ground is situated near the Reeperbahn, Hamburg's red-light district, was adopted by local squatters and punks.
The two clubs' ideological differences came to a head in the 1980s and 1990s, when neo-Nazi hooligans controlled the terraces at Hamburg and opposed the ultra-left St Pauli fans.
"Today, some people stir the political argument to justify clashes, but they are in the minority," political scientist Jonas Gabler, a specialist in fan culture, told AFP.
"Hamburg, and the majority of its fan clubs, have adopted the values of tolerance, openness and rejection of any discrimination."
The politics has changed, but hatred still runs deep.
"It's not politics, it's a question of supremacy over the city, but there is a rivalry, and even a hatred, between the two groups of Ultras," said St Pauli board member Michael Pahl.
Three flags fly from Millerntor's stands, the club emblem, the LGBT rainbow flag and the Jolly Roger - the adopted logo of a white skull-and-crossbones on a black background.
Fittingly for the pirate theme, the club prides itself on taking an 'anti' stance - anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-homophobic and anti-sexist.
"We are the only fans who do not wear the colours of their team," laughs one fan 'Jens', who did not want to give his second name, dressed in a black T-shirt bearing the Jolly Roger emblem.
"The pirate flag symbolizes the struggle of underdogs against the rich, small against big."
St Pauli's appeal reaches much further than Germany's borders with 400 fan groups registered as far away as Canada, Barcelona, New York and even Jakarta.
The return of the derby meant the 15,000 tickets to see the 'away' match on giant screens for the public viewing at St Pauli's ground were snapped up within minutes of going on sale.
The club has long since aligned itself with the values of its supporters.
When violent scenes swept Hamburg in July 2017 during protests against the G20 summit held in the city, the club opened the stadium to allow 200 anti-globalisation activists to camp in the main stand.
"For me, politics plays a very important role in my passion for FC St Pauli, I share 100 percent of all its values," says Pahl.
"St Pauli's fans have been the precursors of a new fan culture in Germany.
"Squatters and punks of the local neighborhood gradually took control of the stands.
"The media coverage of this particular culture brought us more and more supporters, in Germany and abroad.
"It all came from the fans, not from the club.
"Even the Jolly Roger was initially an idea of the fans, who have printed t-shirts to collect money."
