Football hooligans are alleged to have unleashed an “organised” attack on Scarborough fans while they were sat in a Bridlington pub.
Families and other bystanders struggled to escape an indiscriminate barrage of “chairs and glasses” allegedly thrown by “Darlington fans” at Scarborough supporters.
The pub’s manager said the “Scarborough lads” were enjoying a pint before Monday’s match, and had never been a problem before.
“One man who had nothing to do with it was hit in the head,” according to manager Sonja Olsen-Kjolnes.
“The Scarborough fans were sat in the pub and then a gang of Darlo’ fans came through the door and started attacking them. They weren’t even doing anything.
“There were families with babies and young children. There were a lot of glasses being thrown.”
In the video obtained by the Bridlington Free Press, around 40 Darlington supporters enter the family pub, one after another, before attacking Scarborough fans who retaliate.
One of the Scarborough supporters can also be seen throwing a pint glass.
A cautious father can be seen escaping the carnage with his infant child clutched in his arms.
“We have never ever had problems with the Scarborough lads before.” Sonja added. “I have been here 15 years and that was the first time I have ever seen anything on that scale. We have had scuffles in the bar before, but nothing like that.”
Sonja said she believes Darlington supporters followed the Scarborough fans before calling for reinforcements to join in the attack at the Harbour Tavern.
“They were older men as well, so they should’ve known better,” she added. “They have brought shame on their club.”
Staff were quick to call the police who arrived at the scene in minutes.
But the fracas did not end in the pub and disorder spilled out on to near the grounds at Bridlington Football Club.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Travelling Darlington fans were alleged to have been involved in a disturbance inside the Harbour Tavern on Queen Street in Bridlington before the Scarborough v Darlington match on Bank Holiday Monday 6 April 2015. One man received minor injuries in the disturbance and was treated by ambulance staff at the scene. Further minor incidents both inside and outside the ground were dealt with by police, resulting in a number of Section 35 dispersal orders being issued. Two men were arrested. A 46 year-old Mansfield man was arrested for breaching a Section 35 dispersal order, a caution was issued for this offence.
“A 57 year-old Darlington man was arrested for a suspected public order offence, he was issued with a penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly.”
A spokesperson for Darlington Football Club’s Official Supporters’ Club added: “We did not know of any trouble involving our fans during our time in Bridlington. I know there was no trouble involving the fans that came on the official supporters’ travel. Obviously we do not condone any violence or bad behaviour from our fans. If any Darlington fans were involved then it will be down to the football club to potentially ban them from future games.”

Earlier that day, Oldham had beaten Crewe 1-0 in their League One clash.
As the train pulled away towards Manchester Piccadilly at around 6.40pm, the fans started brawling amongst themselves and some also racially abused other passengers.

British Transport Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which took place on the Virgin Trains London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service.
Investigating officer Sgt David Cawley said: “The fans were seated in coaches A and B. Their subsequent rowdy and unruly behaviour became so serious that the train manager took the decision to hold the train at Stockport.

Cardiff City back fans' boycott of trip to Leeds United in protest after Yorkshire club offer just 500 tickets to travelling supporters - 09/04/2015
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Cardiff City have joined their fans in protest against Leeds United tickets
Cardiff City will have no supporters present at Saturday's Championship game against Leeds United at Elland Road after the Welsh club backed their fans in handing back their allocation of 500 tickets. Both clubs have a history of fan trouble but Leeds have not confirmed whether the decision for such a low number of tickets was down to the club, council or police, when they would usually offer in excess of 2,500 tickets to away fans. And now Cardiff have thrown their support behind a fan-run campaign to boycott the trip to Elland Road by handing back their tickets 'as a matter of principle'.
Cardiff welcomed 2,200 Leeds fans to the Cardiff City Stadium in the reverse fixture back in November's game, which ended a 3-1 win for the home side, and have been angered by the decision not to reciprocate. Leeds have not spoken on the matter but it is believed that they offered 2,000 tickets with restrictions on those travelling to Yorkshire before offering an allocation of 500 without restrictions. Supporters groups had already spoken about boycotting the game and now a full shut-out of away fans has been confirmed by the news that Cardiff will not take up any of their seats at Elland Road.
'Our preference was for Cardiff City fans to be granted the same respect and freedom of travel as provided to over 2,000 Leeds supporters for the corresponding fixture this season, and we are frustrated that this could not be permitted,' Cardiff CEO Ken Choo said in a statement. 'With the intelligence and information available however, we consider the event to be routine and manageable and that that the travel and ticket restrictions in place are substantially out of proportion to any perceived risk. 'As stated by our Supporter Groups, we also believe that West Yorkshire Police could manage the event without issue or restrictions, if they chose to do so.'
West Yorkshire Police were criticised by Millwall manager Ian Holloway earlier this year for their treatment of his club's supporters after they were offered an allocation of just 200 restricted tickets. WYP are yet to comment on Cardiff's statement. Leeds have also rejected Cardiff's request to hold a 'beam back' at the Cardiff City Stadium, with the 3pm kick-off being shown at the away side's ground in Wales, a decision that Khoo says has left his club frustrated. 'For the game on Saturday we are frustrated at not being able to support our players in what we consider to be fair numbers and also question the rationale in denying our request to show the fixture via beam back at Cardiff City Stadium,' he added.
'Doing so would at least allow our supporters to experience the match, albeit to a lesser degree than preferred.' Cardiff City Supporters Club Chairman Clive Francis said, 'Cardiff City Supporters Club fully endorses this decision and is grateful to the Football Club for supporting the stance taken by the various travel groups. 'The "bad old days" of unacceptable behaviour by a small number of "fans" have thankfully been left far behind us now. This is now reflected in the respectful treatment received from the majority of clubs we visit. Let’s hope that this message hits home loud and clear to Leeds United Football Club.'

A Spartak Moscow supporter broke both arms after falling from the roof of the stadium during a Premier League match at Arsenal Tula on Thursday. The fan was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition, said the TASS news agency after the home side scored a 1-0 win. About 30 Spartak supporters climbed on to the roof in the second half and watched the match until they were told the game would be stopped unless they came down. A total of 5,000 visiting fans made the trip and Tula police said there were 14 arrests. Tula are second from bottom while Spartak occupy seventh place, 18 points behind leaders Zenit St Petersburg. Thursday's incident came four days after Torpedo Moscow supporters fought running battles with the police and Tula fans.

Bayer Leverkusen defender facing police investigation after appearing to headbutt a steward after defeat to Bayern
Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Emir Spahic will be investigated by German police after being involved in a confrontation with stewards after their cup defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
The Bosnian international, 34, appeared to headbutt one of the stewards after getting involved in an incident at the BayArena after losing 5-3 on penalties in the DFB-Pokal Cup.
Video captured by a fan was acquired by newspaper Bild showing the defender having to be restrained by pitchside staff - it is reported that the stewards stopped his friends walking from one side of the stadium to the other.
Bayer confirmed they have passed their findings of the incident to the public prosecutor in Cologne, and an investigation is pending. The club confirmed that Spahic is set to issue an apology for the incident.
A Bayer spokesman said: "It is clear that there has been a physical dispute after the final whistle. We will review the incident and try to clarify now who was there and why they were there."
In the video Spahic is seen being restrained by a staff as other people - believed to be part of his entourage - clash with stewards, throwing punches.
After breaking free, the defender marches towards another steward and then throws his head forward and pushes him.
Bayer were also fined €20,000 for unsporting behaviour for a banner the fans displayed against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Nice to play Ligue 1 game behind closed doors after fan trouble
Nice have been ordered to play a Ligue 1 game behind closed doors after their fans again stepped out of line.
The Tribune Populaire Sud of Nice's Allianz Riviera stadium had already been threatened with closure following unsavoury incidents following the club's Ligue 1 meeting with Bastia in October.
After the "use of very many flares" by the same section of the ground during the derby with Marseille in mid-January, the French Football League's (LFP) Disciplinary Commission decided on Thursday that Nice would have to close their entire stadium for one league match.
That encounter is likely to be Nice's game with Guingamp on March 13.
The sanction comes just a month after Le Monde reported the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH) had witnessed a significant increase in arrests around or in stadia in France's two professional leagues this season.
Some 351 people have been taken into police custody, largely due to offences relating to the use of flares, which is an increase of 100 arrests at the same stage of last season.

England : Cambridge United 1980s football hooligans 'out of retirement' - 10/04/2015
Source : http://www.bbc.com/
Football hooligans from the 1980s are out of retirement and encouraging the next generation to join their "gangs", Cambridge United's chairman has said.
In programme notes being released before the U's match on Saturday, Dave Doggett said problems had occurred since promotion to the Football League. He said the club had identified 10 troublemakers, some aged in their 50s and 60s, and was working with police. Cambridgeshire Police said it had seen a rise in football-related violence. 'Many are grandparents' The concerns were raised as the club launches its campaign under the national Kick it Out umbrella to stop violence and antisocial behaviour. Recent fights include a man suffering serious head injuries outside a pub in Southend. In the match-day programme to be released at the home tie with Accrington Stanley, Mr Doggett says: "Unfortunately football clubs still attract an undesirable element of society that appear determined to ruin the enjoyment of real supporters of football clubs. "Our promotion to the Football League appears to have encouraged our 'risk' from the 1980s to come out of retirement. "Many of them are grandparents trying to encourage the next generation to join their 'gangs'. "It sounds pathetic but unfortunately it is reality. We are working closely with police."
He said problems had mostly occurred at pubs and not at the Abbey Stadium, which he stressed was still safe for families. Many fans who caused problems in the 1980s are still banned from Cambridge's ground and others internationally. Insp Steve Kerridge said disorder had risen among a small minority of people, adding events such as that in Southend were "sickening". "The club is working hard with us to ensure that those who use football as a vehicle for violence and disorder have no place in the terraces or association with Cambridge United," he said.

Scotland : Fan banned after setting off flare at Rangers game - 10/04/2015
Source : http://www.scotsman.com/
A FOOTBALL supporter has been banned from attending football matches for 12 months after admitting setting off a flare during Rangers’ 3-0 loss against Queen of the South.
Liam Bernard, from Coalburn in South Lanarkshire, admitted culpably and recklessly igniting a smoke-emitting flare, putting others supporters at risk of injury during the Scottish Championship clash at Palmerston Park in Dumfries.
Bernard, 17, was also hit with a £350 fine at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
The incident happened late in the first half of the match on Thursday evening.
Stephen Ferguson, football liaison prosecutor for the west of Scotland, welcomed the banning order.
He said: “Liam Bernard acted with complete disregard for the safety of other fans.
“Thanks to the swift action of the security staff, police and prosecutors, he has been brought to justice and less than 24 hours since the incident has found himself banned from all UK football matches for the next year.”

England : Attacked Watford fan, Nic Cruwys, making dream progress after attack - 10/04/2015
Source : http://www.expressandstar.com/
He was left fighting for his life after being attacked by a mob as he left Molineux.
Now, four weeks on from the vicious assault Nic Cruwys is making progress his family say they could ‘only have dreamt about’.
The 44-year-old Watford fan was attacked in Little’s Lane after the Wolves v Hornets clash last month.
The father-of-two is now conscious and able to walk with some assistance. He had been in a coma in an intensive care unit after the brutal March 7 assault, before being moved to a high dependency ward.
And over the past week he has continued to make ‘steady’ progress.
Mr Cruwys’ family revealed the latest developments in a lengthy statement, in which they thanked everyone for their ‘astounding’ support.
Messages have come from all over the world, with thousands donating to an online fund which has now raised £37,000.
In the emotional statement, Mr Cruwys’ family expressed their ‘heartfelt gratitude’ to everyone who has supported him.
They added: “He is able to walk with some assistance, though still has a long road ahead in terms of getting back to full fitness, it is fair to say he is making the kind of progress which four weeks ago we could only have dreamt about.
“Clearly Nic is in the early stages of a recovery which at this stage, no one knows exactly where that will lead to or how long that will take.
“At some point in the future it will of course be touching for him to know at first hand of the outpouring of genuine human emotion towards him, although that will naturally have to come later.”

Croatia ordered to play Euro qualifier in empty stadium for racism - 09/04/2015
Source : http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/
UEFA has announced under its disciplinary decisions that Croatia must play its next home Euro 2016 qualifier behind closed doors for fan behavior in the team’s 5-1 thumping of Norway in Zagreb last month.
The decision could have major implications. Croatia’s next home match is against Italy on June 12, whom Croatia has a two-point lead over in Group H play. Now, the Blazers will be without their home support for what could be their biggest match of qualifying and just three total games to play in the group stage.
The UEFA disciplinary release listed “racist behavior of fans” and “setting off/throwing of missiles and fireworks” as the punishable offenses. The Croatian federation was also forced to pay a €55,000 fine ($58,700).
Local television broadcasts reportedly showed fans and riot police squaring off, though no injuries or violence was publicized.
The incident is troubling for Croatia, as the match against Norway was already played in a partially closed stadium stemming from their game against Italy at the San Siro back in November, where away fans twice caused the match to be stopped by throwing flares onto the field. The European governing body has looked to crack down on racism and rowdy fan behavior recently, with its leader Michel Platini foreshadowing a “return to the dark days” of racism as incidents increase. Russia has repeatedly struggled with a high volume of racism incidents, a sour point ahead of the 2018 World Cup to be held there.

Fans and police clash before French League Cup final
Fifteen policemen suffered minor injuries in skirmishes in Paris between police and fans of Bastia on Saturday, ahead of the French League Cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and the Corsican side. About 200 fans threw chairs and launched flares in Les Halles district in central Paris, shop owners explained, showing pictures of the fight that broke out in the afternoon. The police used teargas to disperse troublemakers. "One of them (the police) got hit on the head by a can, two other by stones on their legs and the others are suffering from noise trauma," a source told AFP. No arrests were made, the same source said. Around 25,000 Bastia fans are expected at the Stade de France for the Corsican side's first League Cup final since 1995, when they lost to PSG.

Match Commander Chief Superintendent James Andronov said police will now be reviewing CCTV around the ground and in Birmingham city centre, in a bid to identify those responsible. "We had a strong police presence in and around the ground. Our officers escorted a large group of fans identified as being a potential disorder risk away from the ground to their transport, while other officers were placed at strategic locations to monitor the situation and deter trouble".

Italy : Atalanta players lectured by angry supporters during training session - 11/04/2015
Source : http://www.theguardian.com/
Atalanta players broke off a training session for 10 minutes on Saturday to be lectured by fans who are furious at the team’s poor recent performances.
The players were taking part in an open training session at their Stadio Azzurri d’Italia when around 1,500 fans, who were watching from one of the stands, began protesting. The session was interrupted and a video posted on Gazzetta dello Sport’s website showed the players standing in line in front of the stand, listening to an angry rant by one of the fans’ leaders, named by the newspaper as Claudio Galimberti. Other fans applauded as Galimberti vented his wrath at the players, who remained in front of the stand without flinching.
“We’re fed up with losing face,” Galimberti was reported to have said. “We do not want to see the opposition controlling the game on our pitch, we have become a home for other teams.”
Galimberti also told the players to act as professionals and that he did not want to see them in nightclubs.
The Bergamo-based team, who host Sassuolo in Serie A on Sunday, have dropped to 17th in the 20-team table, four points and one place clear of the relegation zone.

The action followed the 5-1 loss of the team to FC Basel in a Swiss Super League match at St. Jakob Park marred by Zurich fans throwing fire crackers onto the pitch.
The referee was forced to stop the match for ten minutes late in the second half.
Things got worse after FC Zurich fans took a special train from the Basel train station, which was forced to stop after the emergency brake was pulled, the SDA news agency reported.
Trains between Basel and Zurich and Zurich Airport were among nine regional and inter-city trains affected, a Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) spokesman told SDA.
SBB temporarily closed the Pratteln station for safety reasons after the train carrying Zurich supporters halted at around 7.15pm.
Citing witnesses, 20 Minuten newspaper said the fans vandalized cars and smashed shop windows before police returned them to the train, which resumed its journey to Zurich an hour late.

QPR criticise fans as FA launch investigation into missile incident during Chelsea game
QPR have vowed to take a 'zero tolerance' approach after acknowledging their fans threw missiles at Chelsea players during yesterday's west London derby.
Cesc Fabregas netted the only goal of the game as Jose Mourinho's side won 1-0 but the Blues stars were pelted with objects.
The FA will reportedly get in touch with both clubs after Branislav Ivanovic was struck on the head by a coin.
It is unclear what action the FA will take, however it is expected that the CCTV footage will be reviewed before they make a decision.
QPR, who will conduct their own investigation into the incident, have since released a statement, promising to take strong action should the culprit be identified.
A statement read: "The club is aware that objects were thrown by a small section of supporters towards the pitch following Chelsea's 88th minute goal.
"The club takes the safety of all supporters and players very seriously and are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the aftermath of the goal in an attempt to identify those responsible.
"Whilst we understand that passions run high during derby fixtures, this is not the kind of behaviour the club condones in any way, shape or form.
"We take a zero tolerance approach to this sort of behaviour and, if the perpetrators are identified, they will be banned indefinitely from the stadium and, where appropriate, we will liaise with the Metropolitan Police.
"The club are awaiting communication from the FA following the referee's report and will work closely with them in ensuring something like this does not happen again.
"We would also appeal to fans with any information regarding yesterday's incident to contact the club, as we feel it's important to identify the perpetrators as soon as possible, as we believe they are not a true representation of the QPR fan-base."
