CSKA Sofia fans break out a Nazi flag and assault their own players after another loss
Before the game, members of Sector G, a CSKA ultra group, voiced their displeasure with a tifo that said, “Let us play this game.” The tifo featured a hooded man controlling a foosball table with CSKA players in place of the usual figurines. A Nazi flag was also on display, visible through the assorted banners and pyro smoke.
After the match, Sector G decided that tifo wasn’t enough to get its point across. The group called players over to their section, telling them they were undeserving of wearing the club’s shirt. Fans broke through stadium fences and police barriers to physically confront CSKA players, stripping some of them of their club colors. Police eventually intervened and escorted the players to the locker room.
In the midst of the altercations, CSKA’s Portuguese winger Toni Silva was reportedly called a monkey by his own fans. On Monday, Silva issued a public statement in response to the incident. He didn’t condemn Sector G. He didn’t call for a change in Bulgarian soccer culture. Instead, he rationalized the fans’ behavior.
“I love CSKA and its fans. What happened after the match with Lokomotiv Sofia was not pleasant. But nevertheless I can understand the emotion of our fans. I’m disappointed and I’m not happy with the loss, but this is football. What happened between me and some supporters was not racist and there are no serious arguments to be called that way. I will forgive those fans who screaming at me and insulted me”

Partizan hold Red Star in derby marred by crowd trouble
Serbian league leaders Partizan Belgrade held champions and bitter city foes Red Star to a 0-0 draw in a derby match marred by bad crowd trouble before kickoff on Saturday. The start was delayed for 45 minutes after home Red Star supporters pelted riot police with seats and flares, forcing officers to retreat from the north tier that houses the club's diehard fans. When reinforcements arrived the police went back on to the terraces and pushed the supporters back. One area of the north tier was emptied and when the match, which has a long history of crowd violence, finally got underway it produced a tepid first half with Darko Lazovic going close for Red Star and Stefan Babovic missing a good chance for Partizan. Most of the fireworks were confined to the terraces where both sets of fans lit dozens of flares and hurled several stun grenades on to the athletics track, keeping fire officers busy as they dashed around with buckets of water. Play was again held up for several minutes midway through the second half for billowing smoke to clear after visiting supporters set off fireworks on a warm evening in central Belgrade.

Thirty-five police officers were hurt and 41 fans arrested in a violent Belgrade derby between Red Star and Partizan on Saturday.
"Hooligan behaviour has led to slight injuries to 35 police officers," the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
"Police reacted professionally and efficiently, quelling a conflict started by fans which could have led to calling the game off and other serious consequences.
"Before, during and after the game, 41 individuals were arrested and police also turned back a van from (the northern city of) Zrenjanin loaded with rocks and bricks."
The match ended in a 0-0 draw that left league leaders Partizan five points clear of second-placed Red Star with six matches remaining.

Western Sydney Wanderers fans pepper sprayed during match
Ugly scenes at Parramatta Stadium marred the Western Sydney Wanderers' final game of the season, with fans of the club being pepper sprayed by NSW Police.
The incident occurred in the active supporters area, the Red and Black Bloc, after a flare was lit during the first half of the 2-1 loss to Perth Glory.
A NSW Police Media spokesman said after a flare was lit in the Wanderers' fan section and the alleged culprit was identified on CCTV, "police went in to get him and unfortunately as they did the crowd sort of turned on them and some capsicum spray had to be used."
But an RBB source, who did not wish to be identified, gave a different version of events.
"When he [the man who lit the flare] turned his back, the cops pulled out the pepper spray and went at him," he said.
"Other people surrounded him saying 'stop' and then other cops started spraying too.
"Some kids were getting pulled out of the bays to go and get water put in their eyes."
He said the RBB then left the stadium in protest at half time, where clashes then continued.
"At half time it was decided that we would leave the stadium - once we were outside, the RBB were in one group chanting - the police were lined up and then suddenly almost simultaneously 5 or 6 of them pulled out cans of pepper spray again and began spraying the front row of people. "
The Police Media spokesman said police had not heard of any incidents outside the stadium.
"We understand that nobody was injured as a result, aside from some secondary contamination."
A spokeswoman for Westmead Hospital said that there we no admissions in relation to capsicum spray and that those cases are usually treated on the scene.
She said there were also no admissions for any other injuries to people who attended the game.
