Serbian fan killed in Istanbul Euroleague violence
A 25-year old Red Star Belgrade fan was stabbed to death in fan violence before the team's Euroleague basketball match at Galatasaray in Istanbul on Friday, the Serbian consul in the Turkish capital told Serbia's state television (RTS).
"It was an act of hostility and a terrible tragedy ... I am distraught," Zoran Markovic told RTS.
"We had been warning the Turkish authorities for two days prior to the game that it was going to be a high-risk match and we are now trying to make sure that all Red Star fans leave Turkey safely as soon as possible.
"I also wish to stress that the doctors fought like lions for the young man's life after he was rushed to hospital, the resuscitation attempts lasted five hours but he died because he had lost too much blood."
Trouble flared up outside the Abdi Ikpeci Arena in Istanbul before the match when around 400 Red Star fans arrived but were banned from entering, according to RTS.
Rival fans then clashed before riot police moved in with tear gas to quell the violence, the channel said while adding that Turkish media had reported that Red Star fans demolished several cars and shop windows in the area as they retreated.

Arsenal fan arrested for throwing object towards Manchester United bench
Arsenal have confirmed that a fan was arrested after throwing an object towards Manchester United's bench after the visitors' opening goal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
United moved back into the top four following their 2-1 win in north London after an Antonio Valencia shot deflected in off Kieran Gibbs and a Wayne Rooney strike, before Olivier Giroud got one back late on.
Arsenal have promised stiff action against the fan if he is found guilty.
An Arsenal spokesman said "A male was arrested at the stadium for throwing an object towards the Manchester United bench after the first Manchester United goal.
"There will be full co-operation between Arsenal and the Met Police - we do not tolerate anti-social behaviour. If found guilty, individual will also be banned by club."

Fatal stabbing of Serbian fan turns into diplomatic crisis - 23/11/2014
Source : http://www.todayszaman.com
The fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old Red Star Belgrade fan before the team's Euroleague basketball match with Galatasaray Liv Hospital in İstanbul on Friday has been met with "outrage" by the Serbian government.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic voiced "outrage over the monstrous murder," in a government statement published on Nov. 22. The statement read, “Serbia demands that the perpetrator be urgently found, arrested and most severely punished.” According to the Serbian government's statement Prime Minister Vucic said Galatasaray coach Ergin Ataman would not be welcome in Serbia after he "accused the young man who was killed and all other Red Star fans of terrorism." Trouble flared up outside the Abdi İpekçi Arena in İstanbul before the match when around 400 Red Star fans arrived but were not allowed to enter. In the ensuing clash Marko Ivkovic was stabbed in the heart by an assailant who has not yet been identified. Turkish media reported that Red Star fans attacked several cars and shop windows in the area as they retreated. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu called Prime Minister Vucic to express his regret over the killing of Serbian fan Ivkovic and pledged that Turkish authorities would do everything in their power to find the culprit. Also Minister of Youth and Sports Akif Çağatay Kılıç called his Serbian counterpart, Vanja Udovicic, to convey his condolences. Turkey's ambassador to Serbia, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, was summoned to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bozay said after the meeting that he had given authorities information regarding developments after the incident. Serbian Consul General in İstanbul Zoran Markovic talked to Serbia's state television (RTS) after the incident, saying: “It was an act of hostility and a terrible tragedy. ... I am distraught." Markovic added that the incident was “an act of terrorism by Turkish hooligans towards Serbian fans,” calling Ataman, Galatasaray's head coach, a “terrorist.” Ataman had said that 300-400 Serbian madcaps were throwing stones and attacking Turkish fans and police, calling the Serbian fans “terrorists.” On Nov. 22 Ataman wrote on his Twitter account: “During the press conference after yesterday's game I did not know about the loss of a person. All my remarks were made before learning this.” Galatasaray issued a statement on their website expressing their condolences over the death of Ivkovic. Ataman also delivered a statement on the club's website, underlining his heartfelt sorrow over the incident. The İstanbul Police Department also issued a statement regarding the incident saying that an investigation into the murder of Ivkovic is ongoing. In a match between Serbia's Vojvodina and Rad Beograd teams on Saturday, a banner was unfurled saying “Who will hurry, who will be first to spill Turkish blood,” Şubuohaber.com, a Turkish news portal, reported.

French police arrest 95 Ajax supporters ahead of Paris Saint Germain match
French police have picked up 95 supporters of Amsterdam football club Ajax ahead of Tuesday night’s key Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. According to French media reports, some of the supporters were carrying iron bars, knuckle dusters and balaclavas and were intending to fight French football fans. They were arrested in a bar in central Paris on Monday night. None had tickets for the match. France’s home affairs minister had already banned Ajax supporters from coming to Paris without a ticket ‘There is a strong rivalry between French and Dutch hooligans,’ a ministry spokesman told news agency Reuters. Police released 41 supporters overnight while 54 remained in custody. Only 850 Ajax fans have been authorised to travel to Paris and will be under police supervision while in the city.

Argentina: River Plate hooligans attack rivals, wound three - 26/11/2014
Source : http://www.eurosport.com
About 100 hooligans armed with sticks and knives wounded three men and caused mayhem when they charged into the coffee bar at River Plate's Monumental stadium in a frenzied attack on members of a rival gang.
Some shouted "Where is he? We're going to kill him" as they charged through the bar hitting people, knocking over chairs and tables, local media reported. "Club Atletico River Plate was victim of an organised attack by a horde of more than 100 people," a club statement said after Tuesday's incident. "The actions -- lasting exactly seven minutes -- were clearly organised, premeditated and planned as proved by footage recorded on security cameras handed over to the law," said the statement posted on the club website (www.cariverplate.com.ar). The attack by barrabrava (hooligan) River fans against members of a rival gang was about the sale of match tickets, the sports daily Ole said. It occurred two days before the second leg of River's Copa Sudamericana semi-final at home to arch-rivals Boca Juniors. Argentine clubs have for years suffered from fighting between rival gangs of fans over turf rights, including ticket touting, parking and food outlets around stadiums.
