Four Paris Saint-Germain players could be sanctioned for an offensive chant towards Marseille fans after their Classique win on Sunday evening.

Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa allegedly shouted "Marseillais, go f*ck your mothers" as they celebrated the 4-0 victory. A clip posted on social media by Free Ligue 1 shows the four players jumping and chanting, while the rest of the PSG squad refuse to get involved.

PSG fans also face sanctions for alleged homophobic chants directed at the visiting side during the game. According to L'Equipe, their song lasted for nearly 15 minutes, and falls under the French FA's definition of discrimination.

Both PSG and the FA were criticised by Olivier Klein, the inter-ministerial delegate for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred (DILCRAH). In a social media post, Klein said he was "Very shocked by the unbearable homophobic chants heard at the Parc des Princes during [the game]".

The government official said he will enter discussions with the club and French FA, and plans to take legal action, if possible.

The minister of sports and Olympics, Amelie Oudea-Castea, later revealed that she has coordinated France football's discriminatory commission, who are expected to open an investigation into the chants. She called on the club to identify specific perpetrators within the group, and 'remove them from the stadiums'.

PSG released a statement in response, pledging to "step up its prevention work in the fight against homophobia, and will be meeting all its partners on this vital issue in the coming days".

Abandoned Ajax v Feyenoord match set to resume on Wednesday - 25/09/2023

The abandoned match between Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord will resume on Wednesday without spectators, the Dutch football Association (KNVB) said on Monday.

Ajax's home Eredivisie match against champions Feyenoord was abandoned on Sunday as fans threw flares onto the pitch, and mounted police used tear gas to disperse rioting fans outside the stadium.

Ajax were trailing 3-0 in the second half when the game was initially suspended in the 56th minute before being abandoned. The remaining minutes will now be played behind closed doors.

Ajax voiced disagreement with the KNVB's decision, citing scheduling concerns, and adding they were considering taking legal steps.

"The competition and Dutch Cup program is being adjusted for four clubs by the KNVB to play the remainder of a suspended match," the club said in a statement.

"Not only the clubs but also the supporters suffer the consequences of this."

The KNVB defended their decision in their own statement.

"The basic principle is that the competition must be as fair as possible and that a match should therefore preferably be decided on the field. The match must then be resumed as quickly as possible."

The Eredivisie match between Ajax and FC Volendam, initially scheduled for Wednesday, will be postponed to a later date.

Four football fans have been issued with banning orders following disorder at West Ham's Europa Conference League semi-final with AZ Alkmaar last season.

Phil S., 37, from Newham, Billy S., 27, from Benfleet, Jacob R., 30, from Sidcup and Blue G., 29, from Colchester have been banned from all West Ham matches.

They will also have to surrender passports during European game weeks to prevent them travelling abroad.

AZ Alkmaar banned 43 fans in May.

The Metropolitan Police said it worked with colleagues from Netherlands Police to identify fans fighting on footage which was circulating on social media.

PC Jack Muscatt from the MPS Football Unit said: "These cases show the collaborative work between police in different countries to deal with supporters committing offences.

"Following your club in Europe should be a great experience and we ask supporters to be respectful while visiting other countries.

"Passion is what makes football great but there is a line, don't overstep it and regret missing memorable trips with your mates."

The Dutch club were fined £68,670 for the behaviour of their fans at the AFAS stadium and were ordered to play one Uefa match behind closed doors, although that sanction has been suspended for two years.

West Ham players confronted a group of AZ Alkmaar fans who attacked an area in which their friends and family were watching the match.

More than 100 Croatian fans are already under arrest in Greece over riots in August in which one Greek fan died.

Croatia says it has begun rounding up 10 football fans wanted in Greece on charges stemming from riots in August in which a Greek fan was killed before a Champions League qualifying match between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb.

Four of the 10 were brought to court by police over the weekend; two were remanded in custody and the other two were ordered to remain in their place of residence and hand over their passports.

It was unclear on Monday whether the other six had yet been arrested.

AEK fan Michalis Katsouris, 29, was killed on August 7 during violent clashes between fans of the two clubs; 102 Dinamo Zagreb fans were arrested at the time and remain in Greek custody.

“A few days ago, we received notification from the Police Directorate that information had arrived from the Greek authorities, i.e. a European Arrest Warrant,” Croatian Justice Minister Ivan Malenica told Croatia’s public broadcaster on Sunday evening.

“These warrants were sent to the State Attorney’s Office, which is acting on them. Yesterday and today, certain arrests and proceedings were held before county courts. This is actually the first phase, the preliminary phase before deciding on the actual handover to the Greek authorities.”

Croatian lawyer Ljubo Pavasovic Viskovic said that if any of the 10 already faces criminal proceedings in Croatia, “they have a chance of not being extradited to Greece” given that the domestic judiciary has priority, but he said it was highly unlikely that Zagreb would refuse a European Arrest Warrant.

Fireworks, emergency braking: hooligans go wild on train

ARNHEM - Arnhem police had their work cut out on Saturday afternoon with Go Ahead Eagles football fans travelling from Deventer to the match against Feyenoord in Rotterdam. Police were out in force at Arnhem Central.
According to a police spokesman, hundreds of fans are travelling through Arnhem on their way to Rotterdam. Things have already gone wrong when fireworks were set off at Deventer station. The emergency brake was then pulled on the train at Dieren.

Arnhem police got wind of the travelling hooligans and went to Arnhem Central to avoid problems. Platforms 10 and 11 at the station are completely closed. Footage shows officers walking with dogs on the platform.
