Following RSC Charleroi - KV Mechelen - 14/11/2022
Source : https://www.newsobserver.com/
Belgium to reinforce soccer stadium security after violence
Belgium's Interior minister met with league and club officials Monday to present them with details of a draft law aimed at reinforcing the fight against soccer hooliganism following repeated incidents this season. The meeting took place after a first-division match between Charleroi and Mechelen was stopped over the weekend due to the fans' behavior. The game was abandoned after Charleroi fans threw flares onto the pitch. A few weeks ago, the “Classico” between Standard Liege and Anderlecht was also marred by fan disorder and had to be abandoned after 63 minutes. Last season, the repetition of incidents led to visiting fans being banned by the league for a month in the two top divisions. “A few fans endanger the safety of many people and thus damage the image of soccer," Interior minister Annelies Verlinden said after the meeting. “The previously announced strengthening of the soccer law is therefore absolutely necessary."
As part of the plan devised earlier this year, the Belgian government wants to impose tougher penalties and tighten access to stadiums to keep hooligans away. Under the new law, which should be approved by the federal government, clubs will be punished more severely if, for instance, they don't comply with the regulations on ticket sales or if they do not take sufficient precautions to ban the use of flares. In addition, offences such as physical violence, racism or the use of fireworks would be punishable by stadium bans of up to ten years, instead of the current five.

The Loire stand of FC Nantes will have to remain closed against Juventus - 15/11/2022
Source : https://www.paudal.com/
The disappointment is likely to be immense for the Nantes supporters. Summoned by the Disciplinary Committee of l’UEFA, FC Nantes was sanctioned with a partial closure of its stadium for the highly anticipated reception of Juventus Turin on February 23 in the Europa League, announcement this tuesday evening the management of the FCN.
The stand forced to close will be the Loire stand, with a capacity of around 6,500 spectators, the same one which hosts the famous Nantes kop. This sanction follows the many fireworks launched from this same platform during the match against Qarabag (2-1) on October 27 at the Beaujoire stadium.
Also heavy fines
For the same facts, FC Nantes was also sentenced by UEFA to a fine of 42,000 euros. The club has decided to appeal these two sanctions, he said.

Feyenoord fans banned from European games after crowd trouble - 16/11/2022
Source : https://www.dutchnews.nl/
Feyenoord has been banned from taking fans to the club’s first away game in the next round of the Europa league, following disturbances at two matches in the group stages. European football body Uefa has fined the Rotterdammers €50,000 for ‘crowd disturbances, lighting of fireworks, throwing of objects and acts of damage’ during the Sturm Graz game. The Rotterdammers have also been banned from selling tickets to its away supporters for two games, although the second ban is probationary for two years.
The club has been fined a further €56,000 after its fans blocked public passageways and threw fireworks and other objects on the pitch during a home game against Lazio. In addition, Uefa ordered the partial closure of Feyenoord’s stadium during its next European home game. The North stand is where the club’s die hard fans congregate. Last season Feyenoord faced similar sanctions for problems with its supporters on and off the pitch.

Feyenoord: 7 supporters arrested - 16/11/2022

Seven Feyenoord hooligans arrested for assaulting a fan who wore FC Groningen pants in De Kuip
A group of seven Feyenoord hooligans attacked a Rotterdam club fan last summer because he was wearing the "wrong" pants, namely those of FC Groningen. Reason enough for the hooligans to abuse the man and let him watch the game in his underpants.
The attack dates back a few months, but the police have only just announced that seven suspects have been arrested. The friendly match of Feyenoord against Olympique Lyonnais is played on July 24 at De Kuip. Two real Feyenoord fans are looking forward to the game. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was able to buy two tickets for the game after saving for a long time.
Fan for years Together with his 21-year-old brother, he travels from Groningen to Rotterdam. Both have been supporters of the Rotterdam club for years, but attending a game was not often an option. The older of the two is wearing sports pants with the FC Groningen logo on them that day.
While the match has been going on for half an hour, suddenly seven people arrive on the two brothers. They are clearly not charmed by the sports pants. The group beats the man and scolds him. They also push him, so that he falls between the seats in the bleachers. One of the authors takes off the sports pants and takes them with him. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old brother feels extremely intimidated.
Declaration But the humiliation isn't over yet, because once the match is over, it continues. When the 21-year-old leaves the stadium, he is again yelled at and pushed around. After police investigation, the identity of the seven suspects is discovered. The men from Rotterdam, Barendrecht, Krimpen aan den IJssel, Oud Gastel and Ouderkerk aan den IJssel, who are between 22 and 39 years old, are all arrested. For the moment, the case is still under investigation and later the prosecutor will determine who will have to answer to the judge.

France : In Saint-Étienne, eleven violent supporters in court - 16/11/2022
Source : https://newsinfrance.com/
The trial of the violence that followed the last match of the L1 championship played at Geoffroy-Guichard last May opened on Wednesday in the presence of the eleven defendants at the Saint-Étienne courthouse. After the call of the defendants, aged 21 to 34, and a brief reminder of the facts, the president of the court, Stéphanie Perrin, broadcast several videos showing the scenes of chaos which immediately followed the penalty session won by the ‘AJA against ASSE (5-4) on May 29, synonymous with relegation to L2 from the Saint-Etienne club.
We see, from different angles, an invasion of the lawn by several hundred people, the firing of several dozen smoke bombs in the direction of the official platform, causing the start of fires. A cordon of mobile gendarmes protected by their shields forms a cordon to prevent violent supporters from entering this stand, before tear gas canisters fire the lawn. A police officer from the Saint-Étienne police station, who came to the bar to explain the work that preceded the arrests of 27 supporters on September 19, showed, with supporting images, “the forced entry of two backpacks containing pyrotechnic devices before the match, the violence in the sports arena and that committed against the police outside the stadium“.
The Professional Football League, ASSE and the metropolis of Saint-Étienne, which filed a civil action, then filed a complaint for 80,000 euros in damage caused to the stadium’s facilities and 6,000 euros in damage to the public space, at outside of Geoffroy-Guichard. The first defendant to be questioned on Wednesday morning, aged 34, spoke of a “madness provoked by anger“, admitting however that he will have to “stop going to the stadium“. Responsible for a team of 25 people in a transport company, he had already been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and violence in a sports arena. The following are members of ultra groups like the Green Angels or the Magic Fans. Among them, the president of the Magic Fans, a 27-year-old professional firefighter. He denied having thrown a projectile, a fact for which he is accused, and denounced “the unspeakable use of certain pyrotechnic devices” who “could have been dangerous“, refusing to touch the smoke since he is president of the group.
