Foggia - Avellino - 07/11/2022

Source : https://www.cerignolaviva.it/

An eventful match, the one played last night at the Zaccheria stadium in Foggia, counting for the Serie C championship, between the two teams of Foggia and Avellino. Due to the chaos created in the stands following the launching of firecrackers and tear gas by the Ultras, the referee decided to suspend the match for a few minutes. The suspension took place around the half hour mark, when the match was still at 1-1.

One of the tear gas launched on the ground hit the Foggia goalkeeper, fortunately without injuring him. Inside the stadium, the loudspeaker called for the order to resume the match, while the firefighters tried to put out the fires both in the stands and on the sidelines.

Even the players of their respective teams urged the fans to stop and be quiet to allow the match to proceed normally.

Speaking about yesterday's unrest, Lega Pro president Francesco Ghirelli said appropriate action will be taken in court to demand that those responsible compensate for the harm suffered by the football club as a result of these unspeakable acts. Ghirelli also pointed out that "these episodes cause incalculable damage to the image of the C-series".

Italian football investigating alleged antisemitic chants by Lazio fans - 09/11/2022

Source : AFP

Italian football authorities are investigating alleged anti-semitic chanting from Lazio fans during the weekend's Rome derby, Serie A announced on Tuesday.

In a statement, Italy's top flight said that a "follow-up investigation" would be carried out to verify the number of supporters making the offensive chants, videos of which circulated on social media after Lazio's 1-0 win over Roma on Sunday.

Serie A said the "boorish, outrageous and religiously discriminatory" chants were aimed at Roma fans "several times before the match and once during the game itself".

On Monday Lazio condemned "expressions of anti-semitism and racism which happen in almost every match at every stadium in Italy".

"They're not part of our culture and don't represent our fans," the club added in a statement.

Fascist fan groups are common across Italy, including at Roma, but Lazio's hardcore supporters have a connection to the extreme right which stretches back to at least the 1970s.

Lazio's historic ultras group, the 'Irriducibili', had friendly relations with their equally right-wing counterparts at Inter Milan and Verona.

Last season the handler of Lazio's eagle mascot praised dictators Benito Mussolini and Francisco Franco after being suspended by the club for performing a fascist salute at the end of a match.

Mussolini's great grandson Romano Floriani plays for Lazio, although he is yet to feature in a first-team match and claims to have no interest in politics.

The 19-year-old's mother is former right-wing politician Alessandra Mussolini, who was once a member of neo-Fascist party Italian Social Movement.

Source : https://www.antennasud.com/

Clashes between opposing fans took place at the end of Massafra-Ostuni, a Puglia Excellence Championship match, which the hosts won 2-0.
The clashes were immortalized in a video published by Multiradio Massafra 25, which listened to Fernando Rubino, president of Massafra, who tried to calm Ostuni fans, without succeeding, even receiving physical attacks, with belts and chains.
"There were moments of high tension, I was among the first to block them, but we were attacked with belts and chains. We moved away so that the children present at the stadium did not approach of the area. I am angry with the image of my country. I hope not to see these episodes, which only bring out the negative aspects, not the football".

Sparta Praha - FC Slovacko - 09/11/2022

Source : https://www.denik.cz/

Sparta Ultras launch firecrackers on the field.

The match of the 14th day between Sparta and Slovácko was interrupted in the first half.
The reason? Sparta Ultras protested against the club's management, who punished one of their own with a five-year stadium ban.

The reaction from the main stand to this action was very critical. "Beast!", "Leave!"

Krejčí and Priske went to parley

Captain Ladislav Krejčí Jr., absent due to injury, tried to calm the situation. Coach Brian Priske and sporting director Tomáš Sivok also came to the ultras sector. The game then resumed after a delay of several minutes.

FC Luzern - FC Basel - 09/11/2022

Brawl outside the Lucerne supporters' bar after the match against Basel: the police used a rubber bullet
The police had to intervene when groups of supporters attacked on the Bundesplatz. The situation calmed down shortly afterwards.

Unpleasant scenes occurred after FC Luzern lost 2-0 at home to FC Basel. After the match, the visiting Basel supporters first fled the stadium individually and formed a group at the Langensand bridge.
As reported by the Lucerne police, there was a fight between the two groups of supporters in front of Zone 5, the Lucerne supporters' premises. When questioned, the police confirmed that they had to separate the groups with two or three rubber bullets. The situation calmed down shortly thereafter.

Even before the match, around 600 FC Basel supporters ran individually from the station to the stadium. As the police write, they had not submitted a request for a fan march. However, there were no significant incidents.

Cyprus: Football clubs punished for incidents between fans - 09/11/2022

Source : Cyprus Mail

The Cyprus Football Association on Wednesday punished Apollon and Apoel in response to last weekend’s violent incidents before, during and after a match between the two teams.

According to sports judge Aristotelis Vryonides, both clubs were handed fines for their fans’ behaviour, and will also be playing behind closed doors until the end of the season.

The fines were due to the use of lasers by fans of both teams during the game, which is in violation of the association’s disciplinary code. Specifically, reports said Apollon fans were pointing lasers towards Apoel’s fans and players.

The second punishment, playing behind closed doors for the probationary period until the end of the season, came about as a result of several violations of the disciplinary code by fans.

These included bringing into the stadium dangerous items like torches and flares, throwing items towards the stands before the game and into the field during the game, and consuming alcoholic drinks during the game.

This was also due to several disruptions that took place during the match, such as the entry of fans into the pitch on the 23rd minute of the game and the subsequent 15-minute disruption it caused.

“The result was serious disturbance on the pitch, which caused injuries and further the temporary stoppage of the match in progress for 15 minutes which caused injuries and required police intervention for order to be restored”.

So far, five men have been arrested in connection with the incidents, three of whom were remanded for five days.

Trouble first broke out before the match when Apollon fans attacked Limassol traffic police outside the stadium on Sunday. One officer required first aid for cuts and abrasions while one fan stole the officer’s cap and others spray-painted patrol cars.

Thereafter, a large group of Apoel fans attempted to force their way into the stadium bypassing the entry guards. Police came to the aid of the guards and the fans were slowed and checked as required by law.

Soon after the match began, an estimated 30 fans from both teams got into a fight inside the football pitch, throwing stones, flares and advertising plaques. Anti-riot police, who had been stationed outside the stadium, entered and broke up the brawls, arresting three people, aged 17, 23 and 25.

All three suspects were taken into custody, while the 25-year-old was taken by ambulance to a private hospital in Limassol to be treated for a broken nose.

Following the end of the match, fans of both teams gathered and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at police.

The water-cannon Aiantas was employed by police to break up the crowd and some of the attackers were forcibly removed from the scene.

Earlier this week, police and football stakeholders held a joint meeting to improve things within football teams and fan clubs and prevent future incidents.

Aberdeen fans warned about behaviour ahead of 'New Firm' derby after shameful Hibs scenes - 11/11/2022

Source : https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/

The warning from police and Aberdeen's chief inspector comes following football hooligan chaos at the Aberdeen v Hibs match last Friday. Fans have been warned that 'anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.'

Season 22/23 - November - Page 3 352n

Police have put out a warning to fans ahead of the Aberdeen v Dundee United fixture this weekend following shameful scenes in the city last week. Aberdeen city centre's Chief Inspector says anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

The news comes in response to the chaos that unfolded when officers responded to disturbances in the George Street and Seaforth Road area prior to the Aberdeen v Hibernian match on Friday, November 4.

So far 10 men have been arrested in connection with a number of offences and enquiries are ongoing. Police Scotland have worked alongside the football club who they confirm will impose their own sanctions on fans identified following the incident.

Nine of the men - aged between 15 and 40 – will appear in court, while one was issued with a fixed penalty notice. Another 15-year-old male was arrested in connection with being in possession of a pyrotechnic.

Additonal police resources are to be put in place to the Pittodrie area this Saturday, November 12 to support the Aberdeen v Dundee United fixture - known as the 'New Firm' due to both side's 1980s success - which kicks-off at 6pm.

Officers have been liaising with both clubs and licensees this week to ensure appropriate measures are in place to help keep people safe and have asked for the support and respect of fans attending.

Video footage from outside the Butcher's Arms pub on George Street last week showed around 50-100 rowdy fans in the area as cops attempt to restore order.

Football fans could be seen clashing on the busy road and at least one car turned around and drove away in the opposite direction.

A number of police vans attended and the video ends as a police van moves into the middle of the road with its blue lights flashing, before the group disperses. Police Scotland said a large group of Hibs supporters were escorted to the stadium after the incident.

City Centre Chief Inspector David Paterson said: “The behaviour we witnessed on the streets pre-match last week was utterly unacceptable. Fear and alarm was caused to the local community, fireworks were thrown and a minority tainted the safe reputation our city has. I am extremely grateful for the efforts of officers to de-escalate the situation, and would like to thank the members of the public who have assisted with our enquiries so far. I am only grateful that no one was seriously hurt.

“As Event Police Lead for the Dundee United match, let me be clear - we will not tolerate any anti-social behaviour on Saturday, nor at any football match for that matter. We know the vast majority of fans turn up at games to support their team and enjoy themselves and we do not want that experience to be ruined by the selfishness of others. Extra officers will be in the area to support the match and I can only hope there is no repeat of last week’s inexcusable events.”

Enquiries are still ongoing into the Hibs match disorder and anyone with information or mobile phone footage is asked to contact the police.

A spokesman from Aberdeen Football Club added: “We are also aware of an unacceptable level of damage caused by fans to seats in the ‘Red Shed’ at Pittodrie during last week’s match. I would take this opportunity to remind fans that this cannot continue and the Club security and stewarding team, working with Police, will be keeping a close eye on this during Saturday’s game.”

'Violent disorder' breaks out between Banbury United FC and Chester FC fans
Police have now launched an investigation after stewards had to step-in

An investigation is underway after police say 'violent disorder' broke out between supporters from Banbury United FC and Chester FC during a National League North clash. Officers believe pyrotechnics were also let off during the fixture.

And officers say the disorder continued on Tramway near the ground after the 2-2 draw on Tuesday. Police say the clash, involving both sets of fans, was broken up by officers.

Police are also continuing to investigate reports of disorder at other Banbury FC matches. Officers say one person was arrested after disorder at the game against Hereford United on August 27.

They were subsequently 'de-arrested'. Officers also continue to investigate reports of an alleged racially aggravated assault and public order offence at the Bracknell Town FC and Banbury United FA Cup fourth qualifying round fixture on October 15.

No arrests were made after Tuesday's match against Chester. Officers are now appealing for information after disorder at the three games saying a 'small group' of the clubs fans have been causing issues.

Dedicated football officer from Thames Valley Police, PC Jon Evans said: “We have started an investigation into violent disorder and pyrotechnic offences which took place at the Banbury United FC and Chester FC National League North fixture at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium on Tuesday, involving both sets of supporters.

“Resources have had to be diverted from their regular duties to deal with these incidents, and this may have had some impact on the service we are able to provide to the wider public. However, we will always maintain our ability to respond to incidents where threat, harm and risk is at its greatest.

“We are appealing to anyone with information about these offences to contact us by calling 101 or making a report on our website, quoting reference number 43220505142. This comes after other investigations were launched into alleged offences at two other Banbury United fixtures this season.

“There is an investigation under way due to disorder before, during and after the Banbury United and Hereford United FC fixture on 27 August this year, involving both sets of supporters. We are still appealing for any witnesses of this to get in touch by quoting reference number 43220385947.

“We are also still investigating an alleged racially aggravated assault and public order offence at the Bracknell Town FC and Banbury United FA Cup fourth qualifying round fixture on the 15 October. Again any witnesses should call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference number 43220466819.

“Unfortunately, a small group who have been attending Banbury United matches this season seem intent on causing problems and behaving in an inconsiderate and anti-social way. We are working with Banbury United and partner agencies to deal with these issues but we are also appealing to the majority of genuine Puritans supporters to help with this.

“If you are at a game and see or hear something which shouldn’t be happening at a football match, then make the club aware. If you have any information relating to our ongoing investigations, then please contact us.

“Together we hope to put a stop to these issues by working with the club, fans, the local authority and other partner agencies to significantly reduce the impact it is having on the match day experience for genuine fans attending games.”

'Small minority tarnishing the reputation of the club'

A Banbury United spokesman said: "We would like to apologise to supporters at last night game who were impacted or affected by the issues at the game. Banbury United takes its responsibilities for spectator safety and enjoyment very seriously. We consult with all relevant parties and assess the risk before every game to try to put in place the right match day procedures. It’s clear from what happened last night, which saw the game unsegregated, the information we had was inaccurate,.
