Football fan, 18, reveals shocking injuries after accusing police of slamming him headfirst into car before derby matchA teenage football fan has revealed his shocking injuries after claiming police slammed him headfirst into a car, leaving him bloodied and bruised.
Fleetwood Town supporter Rob Lanyon, 18, says he was manhandled by officers before the Cod Army's derby against Blackpool on Saturday.
He says the incident happened as he and several other fans were being given a police escort through the Lancashire town.
Footage appears to show Rob being grabbed by the neck and dragged towards a passing car by at least four officers in hi-vis jackets who can be heard shouting, "Stop resisting".
He appears to be slammed headfirst into the side of the car before he was allegedly kicked and stamped on.
In the footage, officers can be seen pinning Rob, from St Annes, Lancs, to the ground face-first before he is handcuffed.
The camera picks up blood pouring from a head wound, an injury which he says required hospital treatment.
Rob insists he has no idea why police singled him out from the Fleetwood fans who were chanting, "We hate Blackpool," on the approach to the Highbury stadium.
But he had been in a pub ahead of a match and is understood to have been verbally abusive towards officers.
He said: "I have no idea why they arrested me.
"We were just chanting a few songs about Blackpool and the police wouldn't have it.
"Then I've been grabbed and it was frightening."
Rob says he has been left with cuts and bruises to his face and body following the incident, which happened at around 1.20pm on Saturday.
Despite his alleged injuries, he claims he was taken to a police station, where a sergeant said he had to go to hospital.
Lancashire Police did not comment on the complaint.
A spokesman said: "Around 1.45pm on Saturday, November 26, a man was arrested by police in Warrenhurst Road, Fleetwood, on suspicion of a public order offence."
