Eight arrests, seven badly hurt in Mexican crowd violence
Eight hooligans were arrested and five supporters and two policemen badly injured as Guadalajara fans fought with police near the end of their 1-1 derby draw with bitter rivals Atlas, Mexican media reported on Sunday.
The Guadalajara Chivas took an early lead through striker Aldo De Nigris but Paraguayan Jose Ortigoza equalised in the 72nd minute for home side Atlas at the Jalisco stadium on Saturday.
In a running battle on Jalisco's upper-south terraces lasting about 15 minutes, police were hugely outnumbered and came off worse with two officers taken to hospital, the Sports paper Record (www.record.com.mx) said.
Television footage showed police helmets and truncheons flying through the air and officers pushed down the terraces by fans wearing shirts with Guadalajara's red and white stripes, who had earlier lit dozens of flares.

England: Lancaster City - Ramsbottom United - 22/03/2014
Source : http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Mass brawl at non-league football match puts three in hospital
Three people needed hospital treatment after a mass brawl erupted at a non-league football match.
It is understood the violence started when a group of Lancaster fans clashed with spectators from Ramsbottom.
Trouble flared in the stands during a match at Radcliffe Borough on Saturday afternoon.
Radcliffe were playing Lancaster City but the game was also attended by players, officials and fans from Ramsbottom United after their game was called off.
Witnesses saw punches being thrown as desperate pleas were made for the violence to stop over the PA system at Radcliffe’s Stainton Park ground.
In a video, an announcer can be heard saying: “Please stop it. You’re making a right spectacle of yourselves.
“It’s becoming embarrassing – grown men. The game is going to be abandoned if you carry on this behaviour.”
“Please Lancaster fans come back into the main stand. Can all Ramsbottom players and officials leave the ground.”
The match was halted as police and paramedics were called.
Police confirmed three people required hospital treatment. They also confirmed that the supporters involved were not Radcliffe Borough fans.
One of those taken to hospital was said to be 54-year-old James Morley, father of Ramsbottom co-manager Bernard, and a picture of his injuries was posted on Twitter.
The M.E.N understands he suffered a broken nose and fractured cheekbone as well as other injuries.
Ramsbottom declined to comment but joint manager Anthony Johnson insisted on Twitter that no-one from the club instigated the trouble.
He said: “Ripped out seat amongst other weapons used.”
Lancaster went on to win the Evo-Stik Premier League First Division North game 4-1 after it resumed.
No-one was available to comment at Lancaster City or Radcliffe Borough.

Czech federation wants tougher rules for hooligans - 23/03/2014
Source : http://www.sfgate.com
The head of the Czech football federation wants tougher rules to tackle football hooliganism.
Miroslav Pelta's appeal was released Sunday, a day after fans of Banik Ostrava and Sparta Prague clashed violently with police during the 1-1 draw in Ostrava.
Police arrested 30 fans and the start of the second half between the fierce rivals had to be delayed by 30 minutes.
Pelta wants to immediately open talks with the government and clubs to get new rules to make it easier to prevent hooligans from entering stadiums. He did not give details.
Pelta says "it would be irresponsible to wait for a deadly tragedy to happen."
