Four men arrested during Liverpool - Manchester United match
Merseyside Police also ejected one man for making an offensive gesture in the direction of the Red Devils supporters, but commended the behaviour of the vast majority of fans
Four men were arrested during the match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, Merseyside Police have confirmed.
Following the release of the Hillsborough Independent Panel's findings, both clubs paid tribute to the 96 victims of the tragedy 23 years ago on a poignant day in the north-west, which passed largely without incident.
However, a 22-year-old man from Manchester was arrested inside the stadium on suspicion of breach of the peace and later bound over.
In addition, a 31-year-old man from Knutsford, a 22-year-old man from Doncaster and a 19-year-old man from Manchester were also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft and ticket touting and theft respectively. The latter two arrests were made outside the stadium and all three men were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Following the match, there were reports of unsavoury behaviour and chanting between the two sets of supporters while the Manchester United fans were waiting to be allowed to leave the stadium.
Merseyside Police have subsequently confirmed that a man was ejected from the ground for making an offensive gesture in the direction of the away supporters after the final whistle.
The police also announced, however, that "no arrests were made for chanting and the game passed peacefully with the vast majority of the fans behaving impeccably throughout the game."

Twenty-six arrests, swarms of riot police, dense smoke obscuring locals' vision. It's not an anti-austerity protest in Athens – it’s Russian football fans rallying at a home match in Moscow, ultimately forcing the game to be canceled. The 80-year rivalry between the Dynamo and Torpedo clubs routinely broke out before the match even started. Some 90 hooligans clashed outside Streltsov Stadium in Central Moscow before riot police forced the mobs apart. No injuries were reported that time, but around 20 arrests were made. It was just a warm-up for what sports commentators later called one of “the most appalling” and “unprecedented” matches in Russia’s modern-day derby. Torpedo fans started small: hundreds of voices joined in lobbing a litany of insults well beyond Russia's limits of publicly acceptable speech at the police cordoning them off the rest of the stadium.
Barely 30 minutes into the game, a firebomb landed on the pitch rim sent from the same section. This was followed by a volley of smoke grenades and firecrackers, as well as a torrent of verbal abuse hurled at both Dynamo fans and the home team’s management. “Torpedo management – out!” the fans were shouting. Club President Aleksandr Tukmanov has long been out of favor with the fans. For the match, which took place Wednesday, Tukmanov ordered banners and flags be confiscated from fans' tribunes to prevent unrest. At the same time, guest tribunes were allowed free admission. The referee let the match, which was part of the Russian Cup series, resume just once more as team captains tried to call the fans to order. As the game was announced to be canceled, the pitch was barely visible through clouds of smoke with sporadic fires burning.
The stadium remained packed for around an hour more, with police not revealing much enthusiasm to start removing people. Regular spectators, unassociated with the fan movement, witnessed a local apocalypse: smoke, fires, frustration, disorientation – and no football. At least six more people were detained. But while the worst the arrested fans faced were a 500 ruble (less than $20) fine for inciting a fight, the Russian Football Federation is weighing harsher penalties for the Torpedo and Dynamo teams. The harshest sanction to punish the clubs for fan misconduct would likely be a cancelation of the results of the match, players said. When the game was prematurely ended, Dynamo was leading 2:1.

Fans Released After Russian Cup Match Called Off
More than 25 football supporters have been released from custody following scuffles at a Russian Cup match that was called off, a police source told RIA Novosti on Thursday. Wednesday's Moscow derby between Torpedo and Dynamo was stopped after 51 minutes with fans throwing projectiles including firecrackers onto the pitch at the Eduard Streltsov stadium. Dynamo had been leading 2-1 on a brace from defender Vladimir Rykov. The match had already been interrupted for 10 minutes in the first half due to the pyrotechnics, but was restarted after the team captains pleaded with the fans to behave. Police had earlier told RIA Novosti that 20 arrests had been made outside the stadium in the run-up to the match. "After the game police detained six more and took them to the police station, where they underwent administrative procedures," the source said.

A football fan let off a smoke bomb during a tie between Ayr United and Airdrie United.
James Doolan was jailed for six months and banned from attending football matches for seven years on Wednesday.
He set off the pyrotechnic during the First Division play off game between the teams on May 9 at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium.
Doolan, 40, had been arrested at his home in Troon in July over the incident.
He was sentenced for the offence at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
Airdrie won the match 3-1, which consigned Ayr United to Division Two for this season.

PSG withdraws travel for Zagreb match - 27/09/2012
Source : http://msn.foxsports.com
Paris Saint-Germain says it will not provide club travel for its supporters ahead of next month's Champions League match at Dinamo Zagreb because of security concerns.
Though it normally makes such arrangements for away games, PSG said Thursday it took the decision after consulting with UEFA and Croatian authorities, citing ''preventative reasons of security.''
PSG also advised fans not to travel to the match in the hope of buying a ticket in Croatia.
PSG has gone to significant lengths to combat problems of hooliganism and racism that were rife among a section of its hardcore supporters from 1985-2010. Two PSG supporters have been killed in the past six years in separate hooliganism-related incidents.
Dinamo Zagreb has a notorious hooligan element among its support known as ''BBB'' (Bad Blue Boys).

The referee in Wednesday night’s Dutch Cup match between Ajax and Utrecht was forced to halt the game for a time after Utrecht supporters threw fireworks on the pitch and sang racist songs.
The match was stopped for some 15 minutes after Ajax scored a third goal, news agency ANP reported. There was no more trouble after the match resumed. Last year a league match between Utrecht and FC Twente was disrupted by fans and eight police officers were injured in rioting after the game.
Stadium ban
Utrecht’s director Wilco van Schaik said he also heard the racist chanting. ‘Unfortunately it is not just one or two people,’ he is quoted as saying by Nu.nl. ‘It is difficult to ban everyone from the stadium but we are preparing measures.’ He dismissed suggestions that pre-match entertainment, including loud house music, fireworks and a laser show had helped create an intimidating atmosphere. The referee is now making a full report to the Dutch football association which will decide what, if any, action to take. According to the Telegraaf, police made nine arrests after the game when trouble broke out between rival fans.

Seven arrests at Leeds United vs Everton FC game
SEVEN people were arrested at Everton FC’s away game in the Capital One Cup against Leeds United last night.
West Yorkshire Police and some fans clashed with supporters chanting “Police Murderers” and “Justice for the 96”.
Fans said batons and truncheons were used against them by police.
The police claimed that “what trouble occurred was isolated and attributable to the actions of a small minority of visiting supporters numbering no more than 50”.
West Yorkshire Police released a statement this morning.
It said a white double decker bus had originally been booked by a group “purporting to be visiting the Dewsbury Rams Rugby League ground”.
“When the fans got on the bus, the driver was then directed to Elland Road but the fans alighted before reaching the stadium.”
The police said about a dozen from this group are believed to have gone to the Peacock pub opposite Elland Road Stadium and “chanted provocatively before being ejected from the premises”.
One man was the arrested for public order offences.
“During the match, a number of smoke bombs were let off in the West stand, which following the use of the stadium CCTV, led to the identification and arrest of one man.
“Following the match, the same group who had entered the Peacock public house gathered in the West stand car park and again chanted provocatively amongst a congested crowd that were dispersing in an orderly manner.
“They were dispersed by officers assisted by stewards of the club.”
In total seven people were arrested. West Yorkshire Police said they were now looking a footage to see if they could bring football banning orders.

Everton FC supporters’ group lodges official complaint after Leeds United match clashes - 27/09/2012
Source : http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk
AN EVERTON FC supporters’ group lodged an official complaint with Leeds United after seven people were arrested at the Blues’ away game this week.
West Yorkshire police clashed with some fans chanting “police murderers” and “justice for the 96” after Everton’s 2-1 defeat to Leeds in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Supporters claimed batons and truncheons were used against them by police and many have made official complaints to Leeds United FC over poor crowd management after the game.
James Lyon, of Rice Lane Supporters’ Club, said the group as a whole had lodged a complaint and many of its members had raised individual grievances.
He told the ECHO: “Many fans were not happy with the way things were managed. We have lodged a complaint with Leeds, who I believe will also have to inform the relevant police force.”
Police claimed that “what trouble occurred was isolated and attributable to the actions of a small minority of visiting supporters numbering no more than 50” who “chanted provocatively” at officers.
In a statement the force claimed a number of smoke bombs were let off in the West stand during the match, which led to the arrest of a man for public order offences.
It said a small group of fans gathered in the West Stand car park after the match and “chanted provocatively” among “a congested crowd that were dispersing in an orderly manner”.
But one fan, who asked not to be named, said trouble arose when police tried to usher Everton supporters up a flight of steps after the match.
He said: “It was a bottleneck and there was not enough room for everyone to go up, so people started turning back.
“Officers than started shouting at people to move and some of the fans started shouting back, saying ‘you killed our mates’.
“It was just really poor management on the part of the police.”
In total seven people were arrested. West Yorkshire police said they were now looking at footage to see if they could bring football banning orders.

Partizan Belgrade supporters claim they were assaulted - 18/09/2012
Source : http://www.independent.com.mt
Eight supporters of Partizan Belgrade claim that while nothing had happened to the police, who were not assaulted at any moment, there were those among the supporters who were injured and when they were taken into the police van, they were assaulted and pepper spray was used on them.
The supporters appeared before Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit. They are represented by Dr Giannella de Marco and Dr Gianluca Caruana Curran. Eight Serbs, a Greek and a Bulgarian, whose ages range between 24 and 36, are charged with creating trouble and with trying to jump into the Hibs ground at Kordin during the Valletta–Partizan Belgrade match, which was valid for the Champions League competition, last July.
Inspector Jurgen Vella said some had paid €40 for tickets bought from Valletta club. He said the accused tried to go into the ground without tickets, and even tried to force their way in. One of the accused, however, displayed what appeared to be a ticket.
The accused, who live in Malta, are pleading not guilty to resisting the police, disturbing the peace and assaulting the police. One of them is also accused with slightly injuring Constable Aaron Bugeja.
Apparently, more tickets were issued than the ground accommodates. Witnesses from the MFA are to testify.

Ukraine : FC Metalist - Chernomorets - 29/09/2012
Source : http://sports.yahoo.com
A crazed pitch invader attacked a linesman during a stoppage in play at a match between Chernomorets Odessa and Metalist in Ukraine. The man, a Chernomorets fan, lunged at the linesman while the officials conversed with the Chernomorets manager about a corner kick awarded to Matelist and grabbed him by the throat while pushing him backwards. When the police jumped on the purple shirted lunatic, he seemed to calm down and almost immediately surrendered as Chernomorets players tried to talk him down. The officers were even nice enough to give him his hat back, but when he decided he was tired of being man-handled, he started to resist and it ended up taking five guys to keep him restrained. They finally got him into the tunnel so the match could carry on.

Serbia : Vojvodina Novi Sad - Partizan Belgrade - 29/09/2012
Serbian league leaders Partizan Belgrade stayed two points clear at the top with a 3-0 victory at Vojvodina Novi Sad on Saturday but the match was marred by serious crowd trouble.
The violence erupted midway through the first half, when rival supporters clashed in one of the stands and littered the pitch with flares, forcing riot police to move in and officials to suspend play for several minutes.
A handful of Vojvodina fans also invaded the pitch in chaotic scenes that again highlighted the need for better policing on the terraces and a tougher implementation of anti-hooliganism laws after 20 years of soccer violence in Serbia.
