UEFA, police probe Juventus soccer fans’ alleged racist, Nazi acts
UEFA and French authorities open investigations into claims that some Juventus fans made Nazi salutes and monkey noises during the team’s Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain last night.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said an investigation was launched into alleged public provocation of racial hatred after police reviewed surveillance video and detained four fans.

Four Juventus fans arrested in Paris
On Tuesday evening, football fans rejoiced for the return of their favorite competition as the Champions League kicked off with a bang. The highlight of the day was the top clash between Paris Saint Germain and Juventus at le Parc des Princes.
The Ligue 1 champions emerged victorious with two goals from their star Kylian Mbappe, although the Bianconeri saved face with a consolation goal courtesy of Weston McKennie.
But unfortunately for the Beautiful Game, the sport is often marred by unnecessary yet inevitable off the field incidents.
Apparently, a small group of Juventus supporters were hellbent on making mischief in the French capital, and four people got arrested.
“Four people were identified by video and arrested last night by the police for public incitement to racial hatred in a sports facility, during the PSG-Juventus football match,” reads a press release from the Parisian Prefecture.
According to le Parisien via ilBianconero, a small group of Juventus supporters who were in the away section were caught on tape while making fascist salutes and monkey noises.
Juve FC say
Sadly, every fanbase has its notorious section, and Juventus in not an exception. But on the plus side, the club has adopted an unforgiving policy with such incidents.
Last season, a supporter was banned for life after directing racial insults towards Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
So Let’s hope for a similar action towards these troublemakers if they were to be found guilty of the charges.

Some home supporters retaliated by throwing objects over a line of stewards before riot police intervened to prevent further trouble.

Helsinki hooligans, social security reform and drug use rooms On Monday night, 35 people were arrested following trouble among football fans at the Helsinki Derby.
Tabloid Iltalehti(siirryt toiseen palveluun) carries a story on football hooliganism in Helsinki.
Helsinki police arrested 11 people during Monday night's Helsinki Derby — a match between capital-based rivals HIFK and HJK. After the game, 24 more people were arrested.
During the first half of the match, a group of HJK supporters invaded the pitch, forcing the game to stop. According to police, the individuals who tried to get onto the pitch were incensed by HIFK supporters setting fire to a HJK banner.
Police said they had to intervene even before the game started. Ticket queues were slowed down because about 20 people were disrupting the line.
Banned flares were found in the possession of those arrested at the arena. In total, around 100 pyrotechnic items were seized. In addition, the police arrested one person with an object capable of causing harm. The police did not specify the object.
After the match, a group of about 30 to 40 people were seen moving around the stadium in Töölö. According to Helsinki police, they were trying to find the opposing team's supporters and provoke a dispute.
Single Kela payment? Helsingin Sanomat(siirryt toiseen palveluun) writes that a proposed reform of Finland's social security started moving through Parliament on Monday.
Speaking with Pasi Moisio,a research professor from Finnish health agency THL, Helsingin Sanomat explained that changes in parliament had made headway.
"It has long been bubbling over that a common vision could be found for a single model for basic security benefits. A narrow corridor was found, and perhaps we can now move forward," Moisio told HS.
The daily further clarified that the reforms would seek to consolidate Kela's payments into a single social security benefit.
"The most talked about issue has been the merger of Kela's minimum daily allowance benefits," Moisio explained to HS.
While the parties cannot agree on changing the size of benefits, consolidating social security benefits into a single benefit has been the main focus of the reform.
More in favour of drug use rooms After a citizens' initiative to institute government-funded drug use rooms this past summer collected 50,000 signatures, a new poll from Uutissuomalainen(siirryt toiseen palveluun) found that more are in favour than opposed to the suggestion.
Support for the establishment of supervised drug use facilities was at 40 percent amongst people living in Finland, while 30 percent opposed such a move, according to the poll.
The poll also showed discrepancies between age and geography. Those under 30 years old were more likely to support the initiative, with 60 percent responding so. Those over 70 years of age were the most critical, with almost half opposing drug use rooms.
Additionally, respondents in Uusimaa skewed in favour of the proposal as half supported drug use rooms, with only 20 percent opposing them.
The Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Aki Lindén (SDP) has expressed his support for a trial of supervised drug consumption facilities in an effort to prevent overdoses. The governing Greens, Left Alliance and Swedish People's Party (SPP) have also officially expressed their intention to back such a scheme.

Napoli - Liverpool, clashes between supporters and violence by hooligans: two drunken Englishmen arrested
The Napoli-Liverpool game had not yet started, when two England fans, both drunk, showed up at the gates of the curva A of the Diego Armando Maradona stadium demanding to enter even if they had a ticket for the reserved sector visiting supporters. When the stewards refused, they began to fume and the carabinieri blocked them, they immediately intervened, but it was not enough.
Accompanied to the San Paolo police station, supporters aged 52 and 54 attacked two police officers and damaged a printer. Therefore, they were arrested for injuries, resistance to a public official and aggravated damage to public administration property. In addition, during pre-screening sessions for access to the stadium, the operators penalized 15 people, aged 18 to 45, for possession of drugs and violation of a stadium ban. 10 illegal parking attendants reported, 62 prohibited vehicles removed and 15 property confiscated. Other checks were carried out by the municipal police.
