Italy: Cisse hits out at Twitter 'haters' - 02/12/2011
Source : ESPN
Lazio striker Djibril Cisse has reacted angrily to criticism about his recent goal drought, taking to Twitter to defend his form and launch a scathing attack on his "haters".
Cisse, 30, made an impressive start to life at the Stadio Olimpico, scoring four times in his first three games for the Biancocelesti, but has struggled for goals since then.
The former Liverpool striker's lean spell now stands at 15 matches after he once again failed to find the net in Lazio's 0-0 Europa League draw with Vaslui on Thursday and his lack of goals has drawn plenty of criticism on Twitter and elsewhere.
Cisse, though, feels insulted by the negative assessments of his recent form and used the social networking site to vent his anger.
"All of you f****** like to talk," Cisse wrote. "You will regret your words soon. Bye, you bunch of idiots. You will see who I really am. I will make all of you haters regret your words.
"For my real fans, I thank you for the support. For the real supporters - I will be back scoring soon, I promise you. Good night."
Cisse's last goal for Lazio came in a 2-2 draw with Vaslui on September 15.

Genoa - AC Milan - 02/12/2011
Source : Football.co.uk
Friday's Serie A match between Genoa and AC Milan was briefly suspended after a quarter of an hour as tear gas left people gasping for breath. The referee chose to halt the game and most Genoa players returned to the dressing rooms, although Milan's players remained on the pitch. People in the stands were seen wiping their eyes and covering their mouths and noses with scarves. Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia also appeared to be struggling with the effects of the smoke. The gas was believed to have been fired by police outside the ground in a bid to quell some crowd trouble. One policeman was injured by a brick. The game, which was goalless when the match was suspended, resumed after about 10 minutes.

Right wing hooligans and sky high prices await England fans at Euro 2012 - 03/12/2011
Source : Mirrorfootball.co.uk
England fans travelling to Ukraine for Euro 2012 have been warned they will be heading into a cauldron of neo-Nazi violence.
And the 100,000 supporters expected to follow the Three Lions in eastern Europe next summer will also face hugely inflated travel and ticket prices.
Many will have little chance of getting into games after sponsors and corporate clients have taken the lion’s share of seats, leaving fans at the mercy of black marketeers.
The grim warnings come after Friday’s draw meant supporters will have to travel hundreds of miles on poor transport into the depths of the Ukraine to watch group matches against the co-host country, France and Sweden.
Euro 2012 chiefs are desperate for police to clamp down on the Nazi thugs expected to turn up after a series of ugly incidents.
Last year a fan was stabbed to death by Dynamo Kiev extremists as others chanted “Heil Hitler”. Last December, hooligans in Lviv paraded with SS banners calling for “a white Europe”.
Fans who travelled to watch Fabio Capello’s men take on Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier in 2009 know only too well what they’ll face. Flares were thrown on to the pitch in the city of Dniproprtrovsk as England lost 1-0. Black and Asian fans had been warned by the Foreign Office to be on their guard.
Two years on, nothing has changed. Black players are routinely taunted throughout matches. Ku Klux Klan symbols are a common sight in crowds. Rafal Pankowski, author of a report by Ukraine’s Football Against Prejudices and Poland’s Never Again organisations, said: “We urge extreme vigilance by authorities over far-right groups. We believe they will be active and visible during the Euros.”
The ticket fiasco will only add fuel to the fire as thousands are forced to watch games in bars. Tournament seats allocations will mean fans of both teams are limited to 16 per cent of capacity. The FA will get just 8,000 tickets for the opener against France at Donetsk; 9,600 seats for the clash with Sweden at Kiev’s Olympic Stadium and 8,000 tickets for the match against co-hosts Ukraine in Donetsk.
Nearly 543,000 tickets were sold via UEFA’s website before the draw, fanning fears of a busy black market.
To add to fans’ misery, travel firms and airlines are cashing in. Budget carrier Whizzair has bumped up its prices to Kiev from £133 in February to £464 in June. Once there fans will then need to get to and from Donetsk twice, which takes 12 hours by train or a flight costing an extra £278.
Supporters at England’s base in Krakow, Poland, will have even worse journeys to games.
It makes watching the matches at home or down the pub a very attractive, and safer, option.

We were obliged to have recourse to tear gases to their aggressive behavior”, explained a police source. “About thirty were not allowed in the stadium for safety reasons, and remained outside, under police surveillance”, a member of safety added.

Holland’s football crowds can send the hooligans off - 06/12/2011
Source : RNW.nl
How do you put a stop to football hooliganism? Banning notorious troublemakers from their club’s home ground doesn’t appear to work. And stopping a team’s supporters from attending away matches punishes both good and bad football fans. The latest idea is for the trouble makers to be quickly tracked down – with the help of the crowd at football matches.
The Netherlands still hasn’t cracked the problem of supporters’ violence in professional football – unlike the cradle of football hooliganism, Great Britain. There peace has returned to the stands, thanks to years of consistently tough action from the police and courts.
This Sunday, things went badly wrong in the Dutch city of Utrecht where FC Twente were playing away against FC Utrecht in the Premier League. There were clashes between the rival fans during the match. After the final whistle, angry FC Utrecht supporters, unable to reach their rivals, turned against the police. Some officers felt so threatened that they fired warning shots.
Violence against police
A one-off incident? Unfortunately not. There has been serious trouble between marauding fans and police at several Dutch matches over the last year. Not all the games were considered ‘high-risk’ - with clubs considered arch-rivals meeting on the pitch.
The fewer police deployed at a match, the higher the chance of officers becoming the target of violence. Fights between fans tend to be dismissed with a "let them bash each others’ brains out", but when the violence is aimed against police, the story is "enough is enough".
That’s definitely how the ACP police union felt after the trouble in Utrecht on Sunday. It condemned the violence faced by officers and demanded that supporters shouldn’t be allowed to attend away matches any more. ACP chair Gerrit van de Kamp:
“If no one - the Dutch FA, clubs or supporters’ groups - can solve the problem, you’ve got to think of measures such as banning fans from away matches.”
An away-games ban has been in force for matches between arch-rivals Amsterdam’s Ajax and Rotterdam’s Feyenoord for a number of years. Before the ban, Ajax-Feyenoord matches were guaranteed to be marred by trouble.
Hard core
Another police union, the NPB, points out that new legislation provides for notorious troublemakers having to report to the police when games are taking place. The NPB complains that clubs aren’t taking proper advantage of this possibility of barring hooligans from matches. Their failure to do so means the hard core of violent fans can carry on attending games.
It has to be pointed out though that soccer hooliganism sometimes comes from unexpected quarters: the hangers-on and the newcomers. They have to have misbehaved at least once to ‘earn’ the name hooligan. They are not yet known to the police or courts and in general they don’t hang around long enough for officers to note down their details. How can these apprentice hooligans be identified?
Mobile-telephone films
The answer? By using members of the crowd at matches. The ordinary people in the crowd want to watch the game in peace and can help make this possible by filming troublemakers on their mobile phones and passing the footage on to the authorities. The day after the problems at the Utrecht match, the police had already received a number of films. The problem remains however that, although they have been caught on film, the hooligans still haven’t been identified.
They have the answer in Rotterdam. After September’s trouble, the police published photographs of suspects on the internet and on billboards around the city. Many hooligans turned themselves in, preferring to face the courts rather than to face public identification.
It remains to be seen whether the authorities in Utrecht will follow Rotterdam’s example. What’s certain is that ordinary people have the power to help identify the hooligans, although finally dealing with them has in the end got to be left to the authorities.

Germany: Rostock ordered to play behind closed doors - 07/12/2011
Source : Football.co.uk
Hansa Rostock have been ordered to play their German second division game against Dynamo Dresden behind closed doors after rioting by their fans, the German Football Federation (DFB) said Wednesday. Rostock are set to face Dresden on December 18 in front of empty terraces after violent scenes marred Hansa's 3-1 home defeat to St Pauli on November 19 when eight police officers and two fans were injured during rioting. More than 30 arrests were made and the game had to be halted for 10 minutes to clear fireworks off the pitch. Hansa can appeal the DFB's decision.

On our way back from away match Veendam we contacted Zwolle who played Cambuur at home. We asked them if they had a firm left.
We had 15 youngsters , they 25-30 they said. Spoke with them and 2 of them came to us and drove with us to a place were they waited.
A good fight of 2 minutes went on and at the end Zwolle won . Most of us got a good beating but no shame for that because they had double numbers. After they won they helped us in our vans to get away from police who rushed in and nobody was arrested.
Nice evening and fair fight .

Paraguay derby abandoned after firecracker thrown at line
A Paraguayan derby match was abandoned at halftime on Sunday evening after a linesman was injured by a firecracker thrown from the crowd, the latest bout of soccer violence to hit the country.
The match official, Dario Gaona, needed hospital treatment after the incident in the Cerro Porteno-Libertad game at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asuncion.
Hospital officials told the ABC Color newspaper that the official had suffered an acoustic trauma, but there was no long-term damage and he was discharged after treatment.
The Paraguayan FA held an emergency meeting and ruled that the second half of the match would be played on Tuesday. Cerro Porteno supporters were also banned from the club's remaining three matches of the season.
The Clausura championship has been plagued by violence, which included two successive abandoned matches at the Feliciano Caceres stadium on the outskirts of the capital.
Sportivo Luqueno's game against Rubiu Nu was suspended by rioting home fans in the 58th minute in late October and their following match, against Independiente Campo Grande, was called off in the 86th minute.
Cerro Porteno, leading 1-0 at the time, protested the decision in Sunday's match.
"The responsibility belongs to the police who did not control the supporters efficiently," club president Juan Jose Zapag told reporters.
"We repudiate violence in the stadiums and this season we have not given any free tickets to the Cerro fans," he added, referring to a practice common in South America and often blamed for encouraging violence.
The club said on its website (www.clubcerro.com) that the aggressor had been identified and that the match should have continued.
