Pub trashed by football hooligans
The Luckwell Hotel pub in Luckwell Road, Bedminster, was set upon by a group of people on Saturday (December 1) evening.
The attack, which is understood to be football-related, took place around 6.20pm and reportedly involved fans of both Bristol City and Millwall football teams.
The two sides play each other at Ashton Gate on Sunday (December 2), with kick-off scheduled for 1.30pm.
Police have confirmed they are “actively” searching for those involved while the landlord of the pub - which has now re-opened - described the incident as “f***ing disgusting”.
Pictures taken from inside the trashed pub have since surfaced, showing a number of smashed windows, broken chairs and shattered glass strewn across the floor.
Initial reports suggested the attack was carried out by Millwall fans, though this has since been contested by eyewitnesses who say Bristol City fans were responsible.
One witness, who asked not to be named but saw the incident happen, said: “I saw it all from outside.
“Pretty sure the people who smashed up the pub were Bristolians, not Millwall fans.
“The Millwall fans were inside the pub and a group of 50 plus people came from the Three Lions pub (heard someone shouting to go back to the Three Lions) via Palmyra Road and started smashing up the pub and trying to get into it.
“I spoke to some people who had been inside the pub. In total, I’d say around 100 people were involved.”
All of those involved in the attack, however, had dispersed by the time police arrived at the scene.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police revealed at least one man was injured during the incident.
The force spokesperson said there would also be an increased police presence in the Bedminster area ahead of tomorrow’s football match.
In a statement, the spokesperson told Bristol Live : “We were called at 6.20pm to reports of a disorder involving a number of people at The Luckwell Hotel on Luckwell Road.
“Those involved had dispersed by the time officers arrived at the scene. One man has suffered a head injury while the pub has also been damaged.
“We will continue to have a police presence in the Bedminster area. We are actively looking for those involved and if required will make arrests.”

Port Vale vs Stoke marred as police are attacked and stadium vandalised
The first Potteries derby for a generation saw yobs wreck Vale Park and attack police as Stoke City's visit to Port Vale in the Check-a-Trade Trophy was marred by violence.
Mindless hooligan reportedly pelted officers with coins and flares as clashes marred the match played in front of nearly 8,000.
Staffordshire police are scouring CCTV footage after toilets were destroyed, stadium windows smashes and bottles and seats were hurled.
Over 4,000 Stoke fans made up half the crowd and they watched their under-21 side lose the tie 4-0.
The first derby for 16 years won't be remembered for the football after crowd violence erupted before, during and after the match.
Port Vale Supporters' Club chairman Mark Porter told StokeOnTrentLive : "It was absolutely appalling. Some of the away fans clearly came simply to cause trouble. They were throwing bottles, lighters, coins, seats - you name it.
"Dozens of seats have been wrecked. They are an absolute disgrace to their club and should be banned."
Stoke are yet to release a statement regarding the unrest.
During half-time the away end toilets were smashed up and officers were attacked, it is claimed.
Prior to the game, police arrested six people on suspicion of offences including affray, assaulting a police officer and violent disorder.
They will now study the CCTV and more arrests could be made.

Supporters from both sides are believed to have clashed with police close to Brighton train station
VIOLENCE has broken out between Crystal Palace and Brighton fans ahead of their Premier League derby clash.
Supporters of both clubs clashed with police close to Brighton train station.
The Argus is reporting that Palace fans chanted homophobic abuse towards the Brighton fans, and this sparked the violence.
The visiting supporters were being given a police escort to the station to catch the train to the Amex Stadium.
But a few supporters are believed to have broken free and confronted Brighton fans drinking at a pub close by.
SunSport has reported how there was an ugly altercation INSIDE the Amex Stadium.
Wilfried Zaha was involved in an ugly confrontation with a Brighton fan before he has even kicked a ball for Crystal Palace.
And as the jet-heeled wideman was heading down the tunnel before kick-off tonight, a Brighton fan leant over and offered him his hand.
But that was soon withdrawn, and the home supporter proceeded to deliver a torrent of abuse at the Ivory Coast international.
Zaha managed to keep his cool, and just delivered an icy stare, before the man was moved away by security at the Amex Stadium.

England : Police arrest 14 Millwall & Brentford football hooligans after pre-organised brawl - 10/12/2018
Source : https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/
Police have arrested 14 football hooligans after a pre-organised brawl was filmed and posted online.
The homes of Brentford and Millwall ultra-fans were raided as part of probe into the fight, which cops believe was planned.
Ultras TV posted the footage on YouTube, where about 20 men, half of them topless, can be seen walking toward each other menacingly.
The fans then began punching, kicking and pulling at each other, before taking a break after about one minute.
After the break, the men seemed less energetic but continued with sporadic jabs for about 90 seconds.
The whole incident, which was filmed in Houslow on August 25, lasted just under four minutes.
The men arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in the series of dawn raids on Thursday, were aged between 18 and 24, with one 37-year-old.
They have all been released under investigation.
Inspector Matt Ashmead from the Met’s Football Unit said: “This sends out a clear message that any form of violence, whether football related or not, will not be tolerated and we will actively target those involved in this type of behaviour.
“We will work with our partners, including the relevant clubs, to ensure those responsible are kept away from football matches so genuine supporters can attend in safety.”

Liverpool FC - SSC Napoli - 11/12/2018
Source : https://www.msn.com/
This was the moment Napoli fans descended on Liverpool Lime Street station ahead of tonight's much-anticipated Champions League clash.
Some of the black-clad supporters were making offensive chants of "fuck you Liverpool" as they arrived under the watchful eye of police officers.
Another crowd of Napoli fans was waiting at Williamson Square before being escorted to Anfield by police.
A large pre-planned police presence was visible at Liverpool John Lennon Airport as fans arrived earlier today.
Specialist dogs will be deployed to root anybody who uses illegal flares.
And on the back of some pockets of violence and disorder at previous matches, senior officers promised all supporters their policing would be "firm, fair and friendly."
The use of flares either inside or outside the stadium could result in lengthy bans from the criminal courts, cops say.
