| Rapid Wien - FC Bruges - 19/10/2005
Source: forums - Bruges lad view
Austrian newspapers wrote that the police was expecting 3000 brugge fans in Wien but in total only +/- 500 fans made the trip, among them some 50 bcf. We had contact with rapid for a meet but that was impossible for us because we were under heavy police escort the whole day. (800 ob in total, 600 ob for brugge fans) So everything stayed calm before en during the game! (Certainly no fights in our stand!) After the game they contacted us again but it was the same story. We went back to the city and had a party in a pub at the Schwedenplatz. Around 1 o'clock we heard that a group of alte garde was coming to our pub. We went outside with a group of 30 lads. We saw alte garde coming from one of the streets and we charged towards them. Immediately coppers came steaming in to seperate the groups. In the small fight two of them got knocked down. One of us had to run like hell to avoid getting arrested. The rest of the group got back in the pub and had a party untill late in the night! _________________

| Hammarby Stockholm - FCK København - 22/10/2005Source : BT.dk website Around 40-50 Hammarby clash with equal amounts FCK in central Copenhagen sat night. Hammarby en route to Malmö for sunday game take a trip over to Copenhagen after a planned meet with Brondbys Firm who shit it whilst FCK (with some Helsingborg) gets contacted and turn up with a good mob. Both mobs had OB hammering their backs which makes it more of a draw but probably small victory for Hammarby who in the end back FCK off. Credits to FCK for turning up with a good mob in such a short while and for manging to completely fool the OB! Thx to KUKL ! _________________ | |

| RKC Waalwijk - Feyenoord Rotterdam - 23/10/2005
Source: dutch news
A short but violent riot broke out outside a pub in Waalwijk, opposing locals to Feyenoord fans. Everything started at 12.30am when a group of 60 visitors was drinking inside. A group of 30 locals arrived and attacked these fans. Three fans were arrested. *************************************************************** Source: mail
Yes, Feyenoord had to run, but they were a little outnumbered. Obviously, we have to many 'walkers', which make our numbers so great, but only a hardcore kept their ground. Respect for them! And yes, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, as simple as that. A great hooligan firm admits when he lost as well! This time we lost. Cheers.
admin note: it seems these Feyenoord fans weren't hooligans. _________________

| Newcastle United - Sunderland - 23/10/2005
Source: BBC
Arrests as rival supporters clash
Up to 20 arrests were made after more than 300 people were involved in mass disorder in Newcastle.
Violence flared on Sunday evening after Newcastle United beat rivals Sunderland 3-2, in a match at the city's St James' Park stadium.
Extra officers had to be drafted in to deal with the trouble, which happened several hours after the game.
Northumbria Police said it appeared "alcohol was a factor" in the violence. The match itself passed off peacefully.
Minor skirmishes
Dep Chief Con David Warcup said people had been involved in several hours of drinking before the trouble erupted.
"We will be investigating this outbreak and looking into how and why it happened," he said.
"This is the sort of behaviour which happens when a large number of people have been drinking over an extended period of time.
"Clearly some people were intent on causing problems and we will be trying to identify them as part of our inquiries."
There had been minor skirmishes after the match when rival fans goaded each other, but police said mounted officers and dog handlers successfully separated them. _________________

| Football thugs tackled - 24/10/2005
Source : Evening Gazette
A masterplan is being hatched to kick known Teesside football thugs into touch before they reach Germany for the World Cup finals. As Sven Goran Eriksson's England clinched their place in the finals with victory over Austria, detectives began plotting the best way to prevent hooligans from invading Germany next summer. Det Sgt Ian Fawcett, of Cleveland Police's football banning unit, said Durham Tees Valley Airport will be closely monitored by officers. And banned hooligans will be forced to surrender their passports and sign on at police station on England match days. "Those who fail to comply will be dealt with swiftly and decisively and put before the courts," said Det Sgt Fawcett. "Those supporters who are deemed to be a threat will be stopped at the ports and could be issued with a notice to appear before the courts within 24 hours." The operation proved effective in tackling troublemakers ahead of the European Championships in Portugal last year, with few incidents involving English fans being reported. And when hooligans did slip through the net and wreaked havoc during Middlesbrough's UEFA cup debut in Ostrava, the banning unit hunted down the instigators who were hit with tough bans. The unit has secured 110 banning orders in just two years - putting Cleveland among the best forces in the country for tackling football violence. Earlier this week, Dutch hooligan researchers said England football supporters were the most likely to cause trouble at the World Cup in Germany. Henk Groenvelt, head of Dutch research group Central Information Point for Football Hooliganism (CIV), told BBC Radio Five Live it is England fans that officers will be watching out for at the tournament in summer 2006. He claimed 20pc of England football fans are hooligans. Meanwhile, football hooliganism experts in England claimed German authorities were unwilling to learn the best ways to police England fans at the World Cup. _________________

| Violence lands Bucharest clubs behind closed doors - 25/10/2005Source : REÜTERS Steaua and Rapid Bucharest have been ordered to play their next two home matches behind closed doors following crowd trouble at last weekend's derby, the Romanian Professional Soccer League (LPF) said on Tuesday. Sunday's 0-0 draw was marred by violence on and off the pitch after Steaua had midfielder Banel Nicolota sent off in the 31st minute. Referee Alexandru Tudor had to continually halt the match in the second half for foul play, adding on a total of 13 minutes at the end. The teams' fans, considered the most violent in Romania, showered the pitch with plastic seats, coins, mobile phones, stones and lighters throughout the match. "The League's Disciplinary Commission decided that Steaua and Rapid will play their next two home matches behind closed doors and fined both clubs 2,600 euros each because of their supporters' violent behaviour," an LPF statement said. The Referees Central Commission (CCA) responded by slapping an indefinite ban on Tudor, after holding the official partially responsible for the violence by reacting too slowly to trouble on the pitch, prompting similar actions in the stands. "Tudor failed to maintain control of the contest and will therefore be suspended for a few first division matches," CCA head Ion Craciunescu said. _________________ | |

| AS Roma - SS Lazio - 22/10/2005Source : REÜTERS + NEWSPAPERS Referee hit by object during Rome derbyThe Rome derby between AS Roma and Lazio lived up to its reputation as Italy's most volatile fixture on Sunday when referee Gianluca Paparesta was hit by an object thrown from the stands during the 1-1 draw. The 74th-minute incident, which left Paparesta with a small cut on the side of his face, briefly interrupted the game and served as a reminder that Italian football is still to rid itself of the violence that frequently mars matches. In recent years the country's capital has seen some of the worst excesses of fan behaviour. In March 2004 the city derby was abandoned after a false rumour spread that a young boy had been killed by a police car outside the stadium. In November 2004 Swedish referee Anders Frisk left the pitch with blood pouring from a gash in his head after he was hit by an object thrown by a spectator during Roma's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev. Roma were ordered by UEFA to play their next two European matches behind closed doors. They could face more disciplinary action -- this time from the Italian Football League -- as a result of Sunday's incident. The problem of violence, however, is not confined to the Olympic Stadium. Last season Inter Milan and AC Milan abandoned the second leg of their Champions League semi-final after Inter fans launched a barrage of flares on to the pitch at the San Siro. This season the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has tried to clamp down on the problem, introducing new security measures, including numbered tickets, turnstiles and more rigorous searches as spectators enter the grounds. It has only been a partial success. Last Sunday a female Sampdoria fan had to be taken to hospital after being hit by a flare launched from the opposition stand during a game against Ascoli. Thx to Anti-biotikA big fight errupted between 400 from both side. Ultras used weapons such as bats, hammers, fireworks, stones, flick-knifnes,... A lot of ultras were injured. 1 crossbow was confiscated by the police. Source : asromaultras website _________________ | |

| Roma fined after referee hit by coin during derby - 25/10/2005Source : REÜTERS AS Roma were fined 25,000 euros by the Italian Football League on Tuesday after a referee was hit by a coin thrown from the stands during the city derby against Lazio on Sunday. The incident happened when Lazio won a free kick close to Roma's area in the 74th minute. As referee Gianluca Paparesta positioned the ball he came under a hail of plastic bottles and coins, one of which hit him on the side of the face. He suffered only a minor cut and the match resumed, eventually finishing 1-1, but the episode served as a reminder of other recent violence at the Olympic Stadium. The same fixture was abandoned in March 2004 and rioting broke out after a false rumour spread that a young boy had been killed by a police car outside the ground. In September 2004 Swedish referee Anders Frisk left the pitch with blood pouring from his head after he was hit by a coin thrown from the stands during Roma's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev. _________________ | |

| Boro fans warned over UEFA tie - 27/10/2005
Source : BBC NEWS
Police in Teesside and Holland have taken steps to prevent a repeat the of violence which marred Middlesbrough's last Uefa Cup tie, in Switzerland.
Plastic bullets were used when violent clashes erupted ahead of Boro's game with Grasshoppers on 21 October.
Cleveland Police said after consulting Dutch colleagues it had advised Middlesbrough to offer tickets only to fans who travel with the club.
Middlesbrough travel to face AZ Alkmaar on 24 November.
Middlesbrough has received an allocation of just 408 tickets for the away tie.
Travel package
Supt Steve Swales of Cleveland Police said: "My colleagues in Holland have expressed their wish to deal with the Middlesbrough contingent as a whole group and moving our fans en masse from the airport to Alkmaar town and subsequently to the stadium.
"Our joint advice to Middlesbrough Football Club is to sell the match tickets as part of a complete travel package only.
"The disorder we witnessed in Zurich reinforced our concerns and this option will go a big way to ensuring the safety of our supporters."
A spokesman for Middlesbrough Football Club added: "On the advice of police in Cleveland and in Holland, as well as the football authorities, our ticket allocation will only be made available to those travelling with the trip organised on our behalf by TravelCare Sports.
"We understand that, despite our earlier advice not to do so, many fans have already made their travel arrangements, but we trust supporters will understand that we must follow the advice we have been given on safety grounds."
Around 800 Boro fans travelled to Zurich, and police said the vast majority showed restraint in the face of provocation by local hooligans. _________________
