Source : https://www.rtlnieuws.nl/
Although the match does not take place until tomorrow, Sunday, the police got wind of the organisation of a fight in a car park between hooligans from the two clubs. Six men from Utrecht, aged between 22 and 30, were arrested.
Utrecht News:
It wasn't a free fight. They told us they were coming 2 hours before. All the arrests were made on our side. The PSV guys were there; it's a shame we didn't get to meet them. You can't be convicted for weapons, but having a screwdriver in your boot is considered a weapon. It's a real shame... that's how the old method disappears.

Tension between the Kop and the players, after the elimination against Laval
At the end of the match, Nicolas Pallois, Marcus Coco and Tino Kadewere went directly to the bottom of the Loire stand where the Loire Brigade appears, but around 30 minutes after the match. whistle, Pallois and all his teammates come out of the locker room and come to face their KOP again to talk with the latter. Apart from the heated exchanges between players and supporters, scenes of violence were observed around the Nantes enclosure. Some supporters tried to force a gate, which provoked the intervention of the police using tear gas. These incidents forced the Laval players to stay a little longer in the stadium, without being able to reach their bus. A few minutes later the situation finally calmed down.

France : At Olympique Lyonnais, a nationalist atmosphere persists in the stands - 21/01/2024
Source : https://www.lemonde.fr/
In both of OL's kops, a far-right minority has marked its territory. Some feel confident enough to express their racism, openly or more covertly, especially during away matches.
Two Olympique Lyonnais (OL) supporters went on trial in Marseille on Tuesday, January 16, as part of an investigation into incitement to racial hatred and racial abuse. Aged 33 and 34, the two men were arrested in early December in connection with events dating back to October 29, 2023. That evening, Olympique de Marseille (OM) was hosting OL in a clash between two of Ligue 1's biggest clubs, but the match was eventually postponed after the Lyon players' bus was attacked and their coach, Fabio Grosso, was injured on the way to the Stade Vélodrome.
In the area of the stadium where some 600 supporters of the visiting team had traveled to Marseille, a group of around 10 people had clung to the fence. Among them were "Lyon supporters who made Nazi salutes and monkey chants to Marseille supporters," explained Marseille prosecutor Nicolas Bessone. The court's decision on the two supporters will be handed down on March 12.
In the days after the incidents, OL "firmly condemned the unacceptable racist behavior of individuals in the stadium" and "requested the videos [of the stadium] to identify the perpetrators." Although most of them concealed their faces with balaclavas, not all had acted with caution, agitated by the incidents that had taken place prior to their arrival at the Vélodrome.
The images of Nazi salutes and monkey imitations have further tarnished the reputation of Lyon's supporters. "I regularly read on social media, 'OL, fascist club.' It breaks my heart," deplored Moulaye, a Lyon supporter met at another away match this season.
The 20-something from the Paris region fell in love with the club during the heyday of Brazilian midfielder Juninho in the 2000s. He is also one of the few Black OL fans to travel to matches. He shares many similarities with Mike Tanzey, who has decided to express his frustration. Because he felt "taken hostage" on the evening of October 29, Tanzey posted a "heartfelt cry from a Black OL supporter" on the social network X. In a series of widely shared messages, Tanzey described the racism he repeatedly experienced in his own stand.

Officers are hunting for a group of football hooligans after fans were seen brawling outside a pub in Airdrie before a Scottish Cup match.
Police Scotland were alerted to a disturbance between Airdrieonians and St Johnstone football fans within The West End pub on Alexander Street at around 1:30pm on Saturday, January 20.

Udinese ultras: ‘No proof’ Milan star Maignan was racially abused
A group of Udinese ultras awkwardly claims there is ‘no proof’ Milan star Mike Maignan was racially abused on Saturday night.
The France international left the pitch in the first half of Milan’s away game at Udinese on Sunday after hearing racial slurs from Udinese’s Curva.
The incident was condemned across the footballing world, but a group of Udinese supporters insist Maignan was never insulted.
A statement released by Udinese Amarcord on Instagram on Sunday claims: “Fifty security cameras, microphones, officials, and the only one to have heard this mysterious racist abuse was Maignan?
“A FIFA President who is still under investigation for having made money with football and a CONI President who condemns a gesture that was proved by no police force or sports judge.
“Like sheep, they say something on TV or social media, and everyone believes it? Before defaming a fanbase and our people, at least show the proof.”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino does not appear to be under investigation and a criminal case over an alleged secret meeting with Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber was closed in October 2023.
Udine Mayor Alberto Felice De Toni was among those backing Maignan and his decision to leave the pitch for a few minutes on Saturday.
De Toni has even proposed the idea of offering Maignan honorary citizenship after the incident, while Udinese will ban those responsible for life.
Milan eventually beat Udinese 3-2 on Sunday seeing Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor score in the final ten minutes at the Blue Energy Stadium in Udine.
Despite claims from Udinese ultras, a video that proves racist insults against Maignan has emerged online.

Disorders before and after the game
The small number of Genoani, less than four hundred, did not prevent supporters from both sides from attempting to clash.
There were moments of tension near the Piazza della Concordia, but the large police presence prevented any clashes. What's more, even when the Genoani arrived in the area reserved for them, a group of local fans again tried to attack them.
All that remained was for the two factions to throw pyrotechnics at each other. It was the same story after the triple whistle, with a third attempt at confrontation confirmed by the mobilisation of a number of Salerno ultras towards the Curva Nord.
The attention of the police then turned to the city centre, where other troublemakers attempted to set up an ambush against the Ligurians as they were escorted to the station. However, despite a number of tense moments, no clashes occurred.

Things did not go well at all at the game between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos on Sunday night. Outside the stadium, hooligans were fighting with police. The officers used tear gas to stop the riots, but the gas blew into the stadium. Spectators then fled from the stands, for example onto the pitch.
German referee Marco Fritz first stopped the game, but then decided to stop it for safety reasons. In the first half, the referee had also stopped the game for about 10 minutes because hooligans had come from the stands and attacked people on the Olympiakos bench.

Match between RWDM and Eupen definitively called off after repeated incidents in the stands
The match between RWDM and Eupen was finally called off by the referee after 84 minutes when pyrotechnic objects were thrown onto the pitch at the Edmond Machtens stadium on Sunday evening to round off matchday 21 of the Belgian league.
With Eupen leading 0-1 after Renaud Emond (58th) scored in his first game for the Pandas, referee Nathan Verboomen interrupted play in the 84th minute after firecrackers were thrown from the stands. The referee first asked the captains to calm down the fans, before sending everyone back to the changing rooms.
The 22 players returned to the pitch after around 20 minutes, but were soon sent back to the changing rooms as more objects were thrown onto the pitch.

Hundreds of ultras unable to attend derby because of firecrackers ZSC Lions fans set off fireworks on their way to the ice rink on Sunday. They were denied access to the site by the police.
The Zurich authorities intervened to quell the ardour of the hockey fans on Sunday. Around fifty flares, firecrackers and two edged weapons were confiscated before the derby between EHC Kloten and ZSC Lions. The police were dispatched to the scene to deal with the material damage. They then arrested around a hundred men aged between 16 and 38.
The authorities then proceeded to check the individuals, "most of whom were masked", according to a police statement. Removal orders were issued against them. They then had to leave the ice rink. The police report that the match went off without a hitch.
Similar incidents occurred during the Ticino derby between Ambri and Lugano last September. Violence broke out between supporters before the security service and the Ticino cantonal police intervened.

Rioting at a handball match in the Saxony League Football ultras started a brawl at a handball match in the Saxony League. A 17-year-old was seriously injured and the match ended without spectators
Riot by football ultras overshadowed the Saxon men's handball match between HSV Weinböhla and Zwönitzer HSV on Saturday (38:28).
According to police reports on Sunday, 16 guest fans from the ultra-circle of third division football team FC Erzgebirge Aue beat up a 17-year-old boy outside the Nassauhalle for wearing a Dynamo Dresden scarf.
The victim is currently still in hospital. According to DPA reports published on Monday, the 17-year-old's condition will continue to be monitored. Initial reports that he had lost teeth in the attack have not been confirmed. The game was then interrupted.
The police, who arrived on the scene with a large contingent, identified six suspects aged between 17 and 22. They are now being investigated for public order offences and grievous bodily harm.
For safety reasons, the hall was cleared in the second half, so the match had to end without spectators. The directors and players of Zwönitzer HSV distanced themselves from the rioters.

Italiy : Udinese to play one game without fans after racist abuse of Maignan - 23/01/2024
Source : https://www.france24.com/
Udinese have been ordered to play a match behind closed doors after AC Milan and France goalkeeper Mike Maignan was subjected to racist abuse last weekend, the Italian league's disciplinary committee announced Tuesday.
Maignan, 28, was abused during Milan's 3-2 win at Udinese on Saturday, a game which was halted for five minutes in the first half after repeated offensive remarks from behind the goal he was defending.
Serie A said it had "decided to sanction Udinese with the obligation to play a match behind closed doors".
On Monday, Udinese said they will ban a supporter for a life after identifying the first individual responsible.
"This person will face a lifetime ban from attending any Udinese Calcio matches," the club said.
"This ban is effective immediately."
Earlier on Monday, Italian media reported a 46-year-old man from near Udine in north-eastern Italy had been identified, and he is believed to be the same man in a video which circulated widely on social media.
In that video someone off camera can clearly be heard shouting the same racist insult at Maignan multiple times after Lazar Samardzic scored Udinese's first-half equaliser, netted after play had resumed.
Maignan challenged Italy's football authorities on Sunday by saying: "If you do nothing, you will also be complicit."
Saturday was not the first time that Maignan has been racially abused by supporters in Italy after he was targeted by a Juventus fan in September 2021.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino called for worldwide stadium bans for fans and "automatic forfeits" for teams whose supporters hurl "abhorrent" abuse.
