Rival football hooligans clash at Malaga Airport - 21/03/2022
Source : https://www.surinenglish.com/
Those involved threw chairs and anything else that they found in their way, causing some panic among arriving tourists
It all happened in a matter of minutes and in front of fellow travellers who silently witnessed the chaos. On Friday night, several hooligans were involved in a brawl where insults were hurled and objects were thrown at the Malaga Airport arrivals area, which created some panic among the recently arrived tourists.
Those involved in the commotion were members of radical football fan groups Frente Bokerón, from Malaga, and Sevilla's Biris Norte, sources told SUR. The clashes came after the arrival of a London flight, on which some Sevilla fans were travelling back after the Europa League game the previous day.
The incident caused alarm among onlookers, who recorded the fight on their phones. In one of the videos SUR has had access to, dozens of young males can be seen acting aggresively at one of the terminal's exits, as they waited for the travelling football fans who were still inside.
In that tense moment, some took advantage of the objects that were in their immediate surroundings, such as railings, chairs or fences, which they threw at members of the opposing group before dashing away.
Emergency services received several calls about the fight, as witnesses warned of the presence of a violent groups of men with the intention of injuring others. According to the callers, they had seen the hooligans running around the area and picking up stones to throw.
The Guardia Civil and the National Police were called, but the hooligans had disappeared and the fight had dissipated by the time the authorities arrived. However, an investigation into the incident has been opened.

'Overwhelming majority' of fans at Barrow AFC v Carlisle United match behaved
POLICE have thanked the 'overwhelming majority' of fans who behaved themselves during Barrow's match against Carlisle despite small pockets of disorder.
Five people were arrested in connection with the game on suspicion of offences including drug possession and assault of a police officer.
And Barrow AFC bosses apologised after the match, saying stewarding at Holker Street was not up to standard.
The club has promised to review its matchday procedures.
A large police presence could be seen in Barrow as the Bluebirds hosted Carlisle in front of fans in the Football League for the first time since 1964.
Fearing possible disorder, officers were stationed in the town centre before the match and also monitored the transport network.
They also policed Barrow's Holker Street ground and the area surrounding it.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and a public order offence and subsequently bailed, police said.
Officers also arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of a public order offence. He was subsequently bailed.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and a public order offence and bailed.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug and bailed.
And a man in his 30s arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug and being drunk and disorderly.
A sixth man – aged in his 20s – was reported for possession of Class A drug and a public order offence.
Supt Andy Wilkinson said: "Cumbria Police would like to thank the overwhelming majority of fans of both clubs for the positive manner in which they supported their team on Saturday.
"Cumbria Police would like to also thank both clubs for their support in the policing of the fixture.
"The police and both clubs are united in working to ensure people intent on causing trouble are not welcome at football matches.
"Anyone who is convicted of offences including violence and/or public order offences relating to football, may also find themselves being made subject to a football banning order."
Barrow AFC said 'certain aspects' of the safety and stewarding operation were not up to standard and would be rectified going forward.

Spain: Real Avilès - UP Langreo - 20/03/2022
Source : https://www.elcomercio.es/
National Police prevent a fight
The security device designed by the national police prevented, at the end of the match between Avilés and Langreo, incidents between the supporters of the two teams, which pushes the sporting rivalry further.
With the Langreo supporters, about thirty, confined to the Juan Ochoa district where they were until the total expulsion from the stadium, a group of Avilès supporters went to the nearest area to exchange insults with rival supporters. Eyewitnesses tell newspaper that members of the National Riot Police tried to disperse the group of Aviles ultras, which sparked an altercation.
Chases took place in the surrounding streets and, although some witnesses assure that there were throwing of objects by the supporters and a police response even with rubber bullets, police sources assure that "a minimal use of weapons was made, only with security deployment" and the incident was left as an "attempt to fight". Further, it is denied that the detachment needed to use rubber bullets or the rest of the means available to the riot units, which for a few minutes sounded the sirens of their vehicles to disperse the "young people", many of them minors, who had moved towards the area through which the supporters of Langreo had to leave, escorted by the police.

Rosario Central - Newell's Old Boys - 20/03/2022
Source : https://www.booska-p.com/
Smoke bomb thrown into the pitch
Always very tense, the match between Rosario Central and Newell's Old Boys this time descended into madness even before kick-off. Some-bombs were indeed thrown on the pitch before kick off.
A few weeks ago, a terrible fight left dozens injured on the sidelines of a football match in Mexico. At the same time, we learned that a supporter had lost his life on the sidelines of a derby in Brazil. Sunday, Rosario Central received Newell's Old Boys in this meeting which is a classic of the Argentine championship. However, the situation quickly degenerated.
We thus learn that many clashes took place between supporters of the two teams. Grenades were even thrown on the lawn before the start of the meeting. Fortunately, there were no injuries. However, this created holes in the ground, which did not prevent Newell's Old Boys from winning away (1-0).

Following Cagliari-Naples riots, 5 Sconvolts denounced - 20/03/2022
Source : https://www.unionesarda.it/
Five ultras members of "Sconvolts 1987" (Cagliari) group have been denounced by the Digos for having participated in the clashes with the police at the end of the match between Cagliari and Naples.
They are all between 21 and 55 years old and are already Daspo: the youngest with a ban that expires in 2027.
Investigators have arrived at their identification through capillary investigation activity, but further checks are underway to name other alleged perpetrators, also in collaboration with the Digos of Naples, who participated in the escort that took place before the game in the center of Cagliari.
The complaints relate to crimes of criminal association, violence against a public official, resistance to a public official, seditious gathering, throwing of dangerous equipment, carrying objects likely to injure.
For the five suspects, at the end of the planned procedure, the Prefect of Police of Cagliari will issue the Daspo, the preventive measure prohibiting access to places where sporting events take place.

Morocco: Hassania Agadir - FUS Rabat - Cup - 20/03/2022

Morocco: More than 80 people arrested over violence
More than 80 people, including 56 minors, were arrested after violence between groups of supporters during a Moroccan Football Cup match in Agadir (south), local media reported Monday, a week after similar clashes in Rabat.
The 84 suspects are suspected of "committing violence, possession of bladed weapons, drunkenness on the public highway and causing material damage to public property," the Goud news site said.
They were arrested following a Throne Cup match on Sunday between Hassania of Agadir (HUSA) and FUS of Rabat, which won three goals to one at the Grand Stade of Agadir. Seven members of the police force were injured during the fights, the Arabic-language site said.
In Rabat, a week earlier, another cup match was marred by unprecedented violence that led to the arrest of 70 fans, including 18 minors, according to the prosecutor's office. Some 18 defendants (including eight minors) have been detained and are being prosecuted for, among other charges, "participation in acts of violence" and "damage to public property", the same source said.
In addition, the Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to open an investigation into 42 suspects, also in detention and accused of serious charges such as "forming a criminal gang, sabotaging equipment by means of force, robbery and attempted rape". Finally, another investigation is also underway against 10 minors for the same charges.
For years, Moroccan stadiums have been the scene of violence between groups of supporters. Clashes between the ultras of the two major Casablanca clubs, Wydad and Raja, are frequent, including outside the stadiums.
After the death of two supporters in early 2016, the authorities disbanded ultras groups to fight hooliganism, even banning all distinctive signs (slogans and banners) in the stadiums. However, the authorities have allowed ultras to be present again since March 2018.

Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men star 'One Eyed Baz' dies aged 56: Ex football hooligan and kickboxer Barrington Patterson who was blinded in one eye when his sister threw a can at him passes away after heart attack
* Ex-football hooligan Barrington Patterson has died of a heart attack aged 56 * He was in Birmingham's Zulu Warriors firm and was nicknamed One-Eyed Baz * He was on Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men but later became an anti-crime activist
Former football hooligan and kickboxer Barrington 'Baz' Patterson has died of a heart attack aged just 56.
The ex-thug, nicknamed One-Eyed Baz because he was blind in his left eye, was part of Birmingham City's hooligan firm the Zulu Warriors in the 1980s.
He starred on Danny Dyer's TV show Deadliest Men, with the EastEnders regular calling Barrington one of the most terrifying people he had ever encountered.
The hooligan-turned-activist from Handsworth, Birmingham, died after a heart attack at around 6am today.
His partner Tracey said: 'Paramedics worked for over an hour to save him. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Our hearts are broken.'
He was blinded when he was a child after his sister threw a can at him. However, he still managed to fight in kickboxing bouts across the globe when he grew up.
He also made an appearance in 2006 documentary The Real Football Factories and acted in 2014 crime film The Guvnors.
Although his early life was marred with violence, Barrington turned his life around.
He became a community figure who helped people fight knife crime and homelessness.
His last tweet before he died was promoting his activism after he visited a school in London to warn children not to join crime gangs.
Tributes poured in from the former hooligans as well as from the footballing community.
Former Zulu Warrior Tyson Leon, said: 'He was a Birmingham legend.
'He lived for his family, he lived for the Blues.
'He did things no other black bloke had done.'
Meanwhile, Birmingham City FC said: 'The Club are saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong Bluenose, Barrington Patterson.
'All of our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. May you rest in peace, Baz.'
