Two law enforcement officers were injured in the riots that broke out last night in Lucca between Lucchese and Reggiana fans at the end of the Serie C championship match (which ended 1-0 for the hosts). According to the Lucca police headquarters, at the moment there are no other injuries or damages.

The investigation

The Digos of Lucca, in collaboration with that of Reggio Emilia, has already identified two fans who were protagonists of the clashes, one from home, one from Reggio: investigations are underway to establish roles and responsibilities.

Violent scenes as football fans brawl after dramatic Scottish Junior Cup tie in Largs

The ugly scenes happened at Barrfields in Largs after visitors Petershill beat Theesel 3-2 in a crunch quarter-final tie.

Seconds after both teams went into the dressing rooms, pockets of fighting broke out as dozens of rival fans congregated near the exit to the stadium.

Punches and kicks were traded and, at one point, a bottle was thrown in the melee. One scrap even spilled onto the park as officials from both clubs struggled in vain to calm the situation.

Players emerged from the dressing rooms to witness the scenes before police arrived and dispersed the crowd.

Coked-up Coleraine football thugs are intent on giving a ‘hammering’ to rival Cliftonville fans at the League Cup final showpiece today.

We can reveal the Coleraine Casual Army (CCA) – the infamous hooligan firm that have attached themselves to the club – have formed an alliance with a soccer mob connected to West Ham United.

Sources say the fans have struck up a partnership through far-right politics and are known to use cocaine to give them courage to fight.

Our exclusive picture shows empty-headed hooligans from both teams being photographed at Coleraine train station a few weeks ago when the young West Ham fans crossed the Irish Sea for a match at the Coleraine Showgrounds.

We can reveal members of the ‘Hammers Youth Squad’ turned up to the game against Linfield in which fans fought running battles outside the ground and near the train station.

It’s understood one fan needed more than 20 stitches to a head wound as bottles and stones were thrown and punches exchanged.

And we understand the East End thugs – who left their hooligan firm calling card stickers all over Coleraine when they visited – are due back in town for today’s historic cup final.

Cliftonville take on Coleraine in the final of the Bet McLean League Cup at the national stadium at Windsor Park which will be beamed live around the world on Sky Sports.

The match is the first cup final – and only the second senior soccer match – to be played on a Sunday after decades of opposition based on religious grounds and there are hopes more than 10,000 fans will turn up.

Yet while the vast majority of supporters will be there to enjoy the game, the glamorous showpiece is in danger of being ruined by hooligan firms hellbent on bother.

And it comes on the back of a series of incidents at Irish League games – many involving the CCA.

“Coleraine can’t shake their hooligan mob (the CCA) and they are forming alliances with a number of English soccer gangs,” a source told the Sunday World.

“A few years ago they teamed up with hooligans from Hartlepool United to attack Linfield fans in Belfast before a match and now they have formed a partnership with a bunch of thugs from London.

“These guys were over recently for the Linfield match at Coleraine and there was a lot of trouble after the game despite the large police presence.

“The West Ham crew apparently loved it and were telling people they can’t get away with causing trouble at games in England anymore because the stadiums are so modern and the police keep the fans apart so successfully.

“They were part of the fighting against the Linfield hooligans who call themselves Blu Unity. In fact they loved it so much they are coming back for the Cliftonville cup final.

“You can guarantee there will copious amounts of booze drank but the hardcore element prefer to take cocaine to psych themselves up for battle.

“The CCA are exclusively loyalist and far right and don’t have much love for Cliftonville fans who are mostly from the nationalist community.”

West Ham have long had a hooligan element that has followed them for years.

During the week 10,000 West Ham supporters were in Seville to see their team play in the Europa League and many were involved in clashes with German supporters who also in town for another match.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans were seen to attack Hammers fans on Wednesday night with sticks and were pelted with bottles in response as police used rubber bullets.

160 arrests, scores of police injured in Moroccan football violence

RABAT: Around 160 people, some carrying knives and stones, were arrested at a Moroccan football match on Sunday in violence which left more than 100 police officers injured, officials said.

The supporters, which included 90 teenagers, "were arrested for their alleged involvement in acts of violence, for possession of knives, drunkenness, throwing stones, causing damage and setting fire to a vehicle," said the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a statement.

The violence erupted at the end of a Throne Cup game between AS FAR, the Moroccan Armed Forces club based in Rabat, and Maghreb de Fez (MAS).

AS FAR were beaten 2-0 and their ultra fans invaded the pitch to face down rival supporters, according to local media.

Police were bombarded with projectiles as they intervened.

The DGSN reported 103 police injured while 57 supporters were also hurt.

"At this stage of the investigation, a lot of damage to the facilities at the Moulay-Abdallah stadium has been recorded. A motorcycle was set on fire and 33 police and private vehicles were also damaged," added the DGSN.

The Moroccan football federation will meet next week to discuss the violence and sanctions are expected.

Sunday's outbreak of trouble was the first since fans were allowed to return to sports grounds at the end of February after two years of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Moroccan stadiums have been the scene of violence between supporters in recent years.

Fights frequently break out between fans of the country's two top Casablanca clubs, Wydad and Raja, including on the streets outside the stadiums.

After the death of two supporters in early 2016, the authorities disbanded groups of ultras and even banned slogans and banners on the terraces.

However, ultras were permitted to return to the grounds in March 2018.

'This war is real... it's not a game': Fury in Italy as Hellas Verona ultras reveal shocking banner before Napoli match showing coordinates of Naples with flags of Russia and Ukraine - appearing to suggest the Italian city should be targeted

There has been public fury in Italy over a shocking banner from Hellas Verona ultras referencing Napoli and Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Napoli beat Verona 2-1 on Sunday thanks to a brace from Nigerian striker Victor Osimehn.

However the night before the fixture, ultras hung up a banner in the immediate vicinity of Verona's Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.


It contained coordinates of Napoli as well as the national flags of both Russia and Ukraine.

The banner appeared to suggest that Naples should be the target of a similar attack to the current events in Ukraine.

It has led to public condemnation over the actions of the ultras who created the banner, with Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti demanding that 'these people never set foot in a stadium again.'

A statement from Hellas Verona promoted a 'message of peace' and 'condemned any act, gesture and expression that can generate - in any form and measure - incitement to hatred, violence and discrimination.'

Public figures in Italy have spoken out about the banner including Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

In a tweet, Di Maio wrote: 'A disgusting message. The banner against #Napoli and the Neapolitans displayed by supporters, or presumed as such, of Hellas Verona is serious and must be condemned by all, without distinction and without justification. This war is real, it is not fiction, it is not a game.'

Luca Zaia, governor of the Veneto region which includes Verona, slammed the 'shameful' banner which 'has nothing to do with football', according to RAI News.

'Verona and the Veronese are always a symbol of welcome and solidarity', Zaia said, underlining the work of 'associations, local institutions, families or health authorities which are doing their utmost in these days to host, help and care for those fleeing this crazy war.'

Luigi De Magistris, ex-mayor of Naples, told Italian publication Tuttosport: 'It is the demonstration of the racist, violent, inhuman and barbaric thinking of certain people. Don't call them beasts because animals are better.'

Serie A boss Luigi De Siervo also commented on the matter as he said: 'Serie A condemns the banner that popped up in Verona. In a tragic time like this, only idiots could imagine such a thing.'

Verona ultras are known for often being at the centre of controversy due to their behaviour.

RC Genk lost 0-1 in the derby to STVV. Around 100 hooligans attempted to attack supporter buses afterwards – there was a combined arrangement in effect.
The police were bombarded with torches and smoke bombs and even Molotov cocktails.

The hard core of KRC Genk met at the Italo Belga clubhouse in Zwartberg after the derby, report Het Belang van Limburg. Genk hooligans were often masked and had iron bars, bottles, wooden beams and concrete pieces ready to attack fan buses.

This group was able to be broken up by cavalry and the use of a water cannon, but it was not without difficulty.
The police were bombarded with all kinds of projectiles. It even included Molotov cocktails!

A police commissioner was taken to hospital. He has suffered hearing damage and has been unable to work for some time.

15-year-old boy arrested after brick launched at window of away fans coach

A teenager was arrested after video footage circulated on social media showing a brick being thrown at a coach window full of football fans.

The incident is alleged to have happened following a football match between Southport FC and Chorley FC at Chorley on Saturday.

The footage, which was shared widely, showed a brick being launched at the rear window of the Southport FC away fans coach.

Luckily no-one was injured but following enquiries, a 15-year-old boy was arrested and later released under investigation.

Sgt Paul Harrison from Chorley police said on Monday: "We are aware of video footage which has been circulating where the Southport FC away fans coach had a brick thrown at the rear window.

"We have today been in touch with Don Fraser Coaches to progress the matter.

"As a result a 15-year-old boy has been arrested and released under investigation.

"Luckily no one was hurt during the incident.

"We are working closely with Chorley FC to identify and ban any individuals who are involved in any football related disorder."
