On the road to the stadium, the ultras of both teams clashed before the game.
A group of about 50 Reggio fans, some masked, charged their rivals from Modena. Smoke was thrown on both sides and some cars parked nearby were damaged. After the quick arrival of the police, the ultras quickly left the scene.

Bad Blue Boys and Torcida fought hard before the game. Dinamo supporter Zagrebački Ivan C. (30) was lynched on the ground. He was hospitalized with broken jaw and nose, as well as hematomas on the entire body.

A group of Derby County fans including children were left 'terrified' after Aston Villa fans smashed windows of the coach they were travelling to Wembley in.
Shocking footage sent to Derbyshire Live shows the moment a young child cried with alarm when the window beside him was smashed by a thug wearing an Aston Villa shirt.
The thug had apparently thrown an object towards the vehicle which, at the time, was stuck in traffic just yards away from Wembley Stadium.

Due to the hatred between both sides, it was forbidden for Feyenoord fans to travel. Only families of players were accepted to watch the game. But, Ajax hooligans have provoked them after 30 minutes. John Heitinga (Ajax) and Dirk Kuijt (Feyenoord) tried to calm them down but finally the game was abandonned for safety.

About a hundred Schalke fans was present at the entrance and people feared troubles. It seems they have an appointment with Dortmund rivals, said Thomas Sparler, speaking for Dortmund police.
Police forces pushed them back using pepper sprays and their truncheons. One policeman was slightly injured. Schalke supporters stayed for one hour inside the stadium after the game and then we escorted by police.
