LFC fans complain about Barcelona police as they "swoop in" with batons
LFC fans complained of heavy-handed policing after an incident in Barcelona tonight.
The Spanish city is playing host to thousands of Reds fans ahead of the first leg of the Champions League semi-final tomorrow night.
Fans took to social media to complain of policing tactics, accusing them of "hugely over-reacting" to an incident in the city's historic Plaça Reial between an LFC fan and local man, which provoked a violent reaction from local police.

Four Ajax fans are found guilty of assaulting police officers and Spurs fans after ‘throwing pieces of PAVEMENT’ at them ahead of Champions League semi - 03/05/2019
Source : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Four Ajax fans have admitted their role in violence which saw pieces of pavement and wall hurled at police before the club's Champions League match with Tottenham.
Marvin Kerkhof, 29, Stefan Tromp, 34, Fahd Amri, 23, and Boy Patrick Calvin Fuchs, 28, pleaded guilty to affray at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Thursday, police said.
The men, who are all from Amsterdam, have been remanded in custody until they are sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court, north London, on a date to be set.
Scotland Yard said they were arrested after Ajax fans began breaking up pieces of pavement and wall and throwing them at police and Spurs fans on Brereton Road before Tuesday night's game.
Three police officers were assaulted as they tried to intervene but they did not suffer serious injuries.
Four other men were charged in connection with separate incidents before Ajax's 1-0 victory in the first leg of the semi-final.
Tommie Arjen Van Der Woude, 26, of Amsterdam, was jailed for 10 weeks and handed a six-year football banning order after pleading guilty to affray at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.
Samuel Greenaway, 52, of Enfield, is charged with a racially aggravated public order offence and Mohammed Hassan Mohamoud, 40, of Amsterdam, is charged with possession of a Class B drug.
The pair have been bailed to appear at the same court on May 15.
Diego Van Der Leeuw, 30, of Amsterdam, received a caution for a public order offence and has been released under investigation after he was arrested for common assault.

MK Dons and Mansfield fans clash on pitch after nervy League 2 promotion battle
MK Dons face an FA probe after their promotion party was scarred by post-match crowd trouble.
Rival fans exchanged punches, kicks and flying bottles on the pitch after the Dons' tense 1-0 win earned took them back to League One and condemned Mansfield to the play-offs.
Home supporters celebrating David Wheeler's winner ran towards the 5,400 visiting Stags fans, some of whom broke through a flimsy cordon of stewards.
Police appeared slow to react, and although the ugly scenes did not become a full-scale pitched battle, Mansfield boss David Flitcroft raged: “I was asking some of their fans, 'Please celebrate with your own players and don't goad our supporters.'
“I don't think that was very respectful. Go and celebrate with your own team. This was a difficult after-game experience.”

Sick Valencia fan makes monkey gestures and Nazi salutes at Arsenal supporters in shocking racist abuse at Europa League clash
Shocking video footage shows a hooligan beating his chest before raising his right hand and putting his left towards his mouth.
While it looks to be just one supporter racially abusing the Arsenal home crowd, no other Valencia fans are seen trying to stop him.
Journalist Tome Morrissy-Swan shared the video and urged police to act.
He added: "To the Nazi-saluting, monkey-gesturing Valencia fan. You're a disgrace to your club and country."
According to the reporter, the fan continued making the vile taunts throughout the first half and was seen by stewards.
Arsenal have condemned the supporter's actions and vowed to work with Valencia to suitably punish the offender.
A statement read: "We are working with Valencia on this.
"We utterly condemn such behaviour.
"We continue to encourage fans to report incidents and to provide witness statements so effective action can be taken."

Ugly scenes as Newcastle United and Liverpool fans fight in the streets in violent skirmishes after the Reds' last-gasp winner
Liverpool fans were whipped up into a frenzy at Newcastle United's St James' Park last night as their team clinched a last-gasp winner to keep their Premier League title dreams alive.
But the build-up of raw emotion during a nail-biting finale turned ugly as clashes between Magpies and Reds supporters broke out after the match.
Dramatic video footage shows Toon fans brawling with Liverpool supporters as they try to board their coach.
Cries of 'come on then!' are heard shortly before baton-wielding police are seen trying to split up the scuffles.
The violence which spilled out on to the streets after the game came after skirmishes erupted during the match itself.
Fired-up Newcastle fans squared up to jubilant Reds supporters in the Milburn End as they celebrated Divock Origi nodding in an 86th-minute winner.
And several supporters were removed from the ground with violence breaking out in the Gallowgate End in the second half.
One supporter was seen tripping over the railing and tumbling down the stairs and another fan was seen jumping down after him.
Northumbria Police confirmed there were five away arrests and two home arrests, with seven home supporters and 15 away fans ejected from St James' Park.
Prior to the game, the club had warned Newcastle fans about selling tickets to away supporters desperate to see their team continue their title challenge.
One Newcastle fan said: 'I was right next to [the Liverpool fans] and when their first goal went in it was shocking.
'There must have been about 40 fans there and no way could our fans have sold them their tickets because they were all in same area, which was strange.
'When their second goal went in it was even worse.
'The Liverpool fans were taunting the Newcastle fans big time and about 20 home supporters ran from the Gallowgate End up to the area unchallenged and all hell broke loose.'
The fan added: 'One poor steward had to deal with Liverpool fans but they all should have been ejected like the club said they would be.'
Liverpool's 3-2 win over United puts the pressure on League leaders Manchester City who need to beat Leicester City on Monday to lift the trophy.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: 'We are working with the club to identify those involved in any disorder.

Tottenham fans warned by Dutch police as 10,000 descend on Amsterdam for crunch Ajax tie - 07/05/2019
Source : https://www.standard.co.uk/
Dutch police have warned Tottenham supporters about their behaviour, as about 10,000 travelling fans are expected to arrive here ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final, second-leg tie against Ajax.
Spurs’s allocation at the 54,990- capacity Johan Cruyff Arena is just 2,600, but around three times that number are expected to travel without tickets as the club bid to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg to reach their first Champions League Final.
Police have warned fans that drinking alcohol in public is banned and advised against buying recreational drugs, some of which can be purchased legally.
Spurs supporters have an impeccable record in Europe this season but the behaviour of travelling English supporters and European police is under scrutiny after six Liverpool fans were detained in Barcelona ahead of last week’s other semi-final, with many accusing the Spanish authorities of employing heavy-handed tactics.
The Dutch authorities will deploy more police on the streets today and tomorrow, while Spurs stewards will travel with their official contingent. There were more than 140 arrests when Ajax met Juventus last month in the first leg of their quarter-final.
Spurs fans are expected to gather in Dam Square and they will be escorted to the stadium on dedicated metro trains, with ticketless supporters urged to remain in the city centre to watch the match in tourist-friendly bars. At the stadium, an electronic ticket-check will be followed by additional checks by police and stewards, including body searches.
