Sydney and Adelaide football fans clash outside Hindmarsh Stadium ahead of A-League match
POLICE dispersed a brawl between more than 20 soccer fans attending Friday evening’s A-League match at Hindmarsh Stadium between Adelaide United and Sydney FC. The fans became involved in the fracas near a tram stop at the Entertainment Centre. Bottles, as well as insults, were hurled during the brief confrontation which came to an end when police intervened. There have been no reported injuries or arrests. The confrontation comes two weeks after Sydney beat Adelaide 2-1 in Sydney, claiming the Football Federation Australia Cup for the third time. The match became heated when Adelaide’s Michael Marrone careened into a ball boy, knocking him to the ground and igniting a bench clearing shoving match on the side line which ended with Marrone being booted from the game.

England fans warned they could face up to 15 years in Russian jail if they take part in hooliganism or mass disorder at 2018 World Cup - 01/12/2017
Source: Daily Mail
English football fans face up to 15 years in a Russian jail if they engage in hooliganism or mass disorder at next summer's Russia World Cup, Sportsmail can reveal.
Senior British police officers, who are urging English fans to desist from provocative nationalistic singing, have been made aware of the penalties the Russian authorities are likely to deal out.
Though the deportation of fans is also possible, jail terms of between eight and 15 years could be handed down for the kind of violence which marred England's appearance at the European Championship in France last year.
The Russians are also ready to deal out heavy fines for ticket touting. Fines will go up according to the scale of the game but penalties will be anything from £3,000 to £20,000 per ticket. That means a tout caught trying to sell five tickets for the final could potentially face a £100,000 fine.
There are also likely to be fines for drinking in a public place, which is banned, as the Russian authorities seek to steer supporters into Fan Fest areas. Moscow deputy police chief Andrey Zakharov told Sportsmail in October that he had 'enough' police officers to deploy' and that he expected supporters to be contained in those designated areas.
Deputy Chief Constable Mark Roberts, head of the Football Policing Unit, told Sportsmail on Thursday night: 'We expect English fans to go to fan zones and make sure they do not behave in any way that might make them a target. We are aware of the possible penalties now. We are urging fans to think about the consequences of their actions.
'Any singing indicative of an imperialistic mind-set can provoke a hostile reaction. Visiting fans need to put themselves in Russian shoes and consider how they would feel. We urge fans to learn from some of the experiences they have had in France last summer. The French found some of the chants very offensive.'
Russian gang members have told Sportsmail that the singing of unflattering songs about Russian president Vladimir Putin by England fans in Marseilles was highly provocative. There seems little doubt that a repeat of such insults could be even more inflammatory in Russia.
Putin has nurtured a strong nationalistic sentiment in the country and ridiculing him in any way risks a backlash. Putin, who wants to put on a positive show to the world, has also instructed authorities to crack down on any Russian hooliganism.
British police, who expect between 10,000 and 20,000 English fans to travel, will host World Cup talks with their Russian counterparts next week when Liverpool and Manchester United play Spartak Moscow and CSKA Moscow respectively. Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate believes Harry Kane will come to Russia next summer looking to prove he's the best striker in world football.
The England manager, who is in Moscow for Friday's World Cup draw, said: 'I'm certain that is Harry's ambition, and there's no question if that is his ambition, then this is the stage to go and show it.
'As a player you are judged a lot by what happens with your club, but in the end the world stars are ultimately judged by what they do with their country and in major tournaments.'
Southgate also defended his medical staff after Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho claimed Phil Jones was given six injections in an injured calf while with England earlier this month.
'Manchester United are incredibly supportive of everything we do,' said Southgate.
'We have got ongoing dialogue over this situation. It's a complex one and we want to make sure we get these things right.'

Australia: Calls for violent soccer fans to be banned after wild brawl between rival groups of hooligans at A-League match - 02/12/2017
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
There have been renewed calls to ban violent fans from stadiums after rival groups of soccer hooligans brawled on the streets before a match. Supporters of Sydney FC and Adelaide United were filmed hurling insults at each other before Friday's A-League game between the two clubs at Hindmarsh Stadium. Flares and bottles were thrown as the groups squared off, swearing at each other as passersby scrambled to avoid the melee.
Violence erupted within minutes, and more than 20 fans wearing hoods or caps to hide their faces could be seen trading blows. Bystanders ran for cover or looked on in horror as the men punched and kicked each other, some of the combatants blocking traffic as the fight spilled onto a road.
Others seemed fascinated by the fight, following the action from a safe distance away. 'It's Red Army [United fans] versus Sydney,' said one man, as the rival groups chanted and taunted each other.
'Oi bro, this is better than the game!' said another after his friend wanted to move on and watch the soccer match. The violence was so intense it provoked a reaction from former AFL stars Kane Cornes and Warren Tredrea who slammed the behaviour, Adelaide Now reported. Commissioner of Victims' Rights, Michael O’Connell said violent supporters needed to be dealt with firmly and banned from attending future games. 'Hooligans and thugs like those fighting, inciting others to fight and throwing flares in Adelaide risked the well being of innocent people — young and old, individuals and families,' he said.
'Those who antagonise and attack should be dealt with swiftly and firmly. They should be stopped from entering soccer grounds. 'If inside, they should be removed. They should be punished for their crimes.' The violence reportedly started when the two groups of hooligans confronted each other at a tram stop, and continued until police arrived after 10 minutes. Sydney FC beat Adelaide United 1-0 thanks to a goal from Brazilian striker Bobo on the stroke of half-time. The violence comes less than a fortnight after players from the rival clubs brawled after Adelaide United fullback Michael Marrone tackled a ball-boy. Daily Mail Australia contacted South Australia Police for comment.

Police halt brawl between Bayern Munich and PSG fans at station
About 60 Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain fans clashed at a German train station on Monday night ahead of their Champions League match.
Police used batons while intervening to halt a brawl between rival mask-wearing supporters. One French fan was treated for a head injury, police said.
Three Bayern fans were arrested on assault charges after being found with weapons, while about 30 PSG were questioned and released.
Reports in Germany said the melee involved 30 PSG ultras against 20 from the Bayern fan group "Schickeria," the latter of whom were joined by about 10 ultras from PSG's rival French club Bordeaux.

Bayern Munich fans throw fake money at Neymar
Neymar is no stranger to having things thrown at him during soccer matches. Earlier this season, for example, the Brazilian star claimed that fans hurled baguettes at him during PSG’s heated 2-2 draw in Marseille.
But on Tuesday, for PSG’s final match of the Champions League group stage, Bayern Munich fans went to new lengths. They printed up customized counterfeit €500 notes with Neymar’s face on them.
And then, when the most expensive player ever jogged over to the corner flag in the 34th minute to take PSG’s first corner of the match, one fan hurled a stack of them toward the field. Watch the right side of the picture.
Neymar clearly saw the notes as they fluttered to the ground, and almost seemed to crack a smile. But maybe not. He cleared them out of the way with his foot, and went about his business. He likely didn’t get to see that his face was emblazoned on them.

UK: Eleven football hooligans are sentenced after shocking bar brawl that took place following a FRIENDLY match - 08/12/2017
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
This is the shocking moment raging football fans beat each other with pool cues when a mass brawl broke out after a friendly match in the Midlands. In the one-minute clip it shows eleven men throwing furniture into the air and brutally beating each other in a Burton-upon-Trent pub. The violence began shortly after a pre-season friendly between Burton Albion and Stoke City Football Club and saw thousands of pounds worth of damage inflicted on the Locomotive pub. The shocking scenes of violence begin as two groups of men appear to exchange words. One group then marches over to another - pool cues still in hand from a game - and they begin fighting in the centre of the pub.
Several punches are thrown with one man knocked to the floor and a woman fleeing the pub during the brawl. One man is clearly shown taking a blow to the face shortly before he grabs the thug by his collar. As the fight continues, bar stools are hurtled across the air and the punch-up continues in the doorway of the pub. A bald man in a white shirt can be seen with blood on his torso shortly before the men start to violently attack customers at the Locomotive Pub, on Station Street. Four men then gang up on one football fan and are shown kicking him after he is thrown to the floor. One punter then smashes him with a bar stool. The video ends as a man in a black jacket appears to calm the situation.
The video has been released by Staffordshire Police after the men pleaded guilty following the brawl at The Locomotive pub on Station Street, Burton-upon-Trent. Ten men had already pleaded guilty to violent disorder with an 11th being found guilty in November following a re-trial. One man from Stoke-on-Trent stood trial in July and was found not guilty. Investigating officer PC Rob Morgan said: 'I hope this sends out a clear message – such violence will not be tolerated in our communities. All 11 men also received a prohibited activity requirement barring them attending all Stoke City games, home and away, until 31 May 2018.
'These 11 men knew what they were doing and what they were getting involved in. Their sentences are to be welcomed. 'To other people in the pub that afternoon, or the immediate area, this would have been a frightening experience and one they should not have been subjected too. 'We will continue to take positive action against those involved in such violent behaviour.' Chief Inspector Tony Lungrin, head of the Staffordshire Police Football Unit, added: 'Following a very thorough investigation these offenders were traced and bought to justice. 'This will continue to be the case wherever disorder takes place at, or in, any location within Staffordshire.
'Those individuals who feel it is acceptable to engage in such behaviour should take this as a warning - we will seek you out and put you before the courts.' Andrew Campbell, 40, and Sam Brammer, 29, John Eenkhoorn, 49, and 44-year-old Noel Edwards were sentenced to 10 months imprisonment suspended for two years. Shaun Flannaghan, 42, Nicholas Moorhouse, 32, Jason Wood, 47, Leon Yewdell, 33, Joseph Fagan, 57, Michael Whittingham, 49, and 48-year-old Philip Divers each received suspended sentences of eight month.

Europa League: Zenit St Petersburg hit with partial stadium closure over fans' racist banner - 09/12/2017
Source : http://www.firstpost.com/
Zenit St Petersburg have been ordered to partially close their stadium by UEFA after fans displayed a banner praising former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic during a 2-1 home win over Macedonian side Vardar Skopje in the Europa League last month.
The Russian club was found guilty of “racist behaviour” under Article 14 of UEFA’s disciplinary regulations and instructed to “close the entire sector where the discriminatory banner was displayed” during their next European match.
UEFA said in a statement that it had also asked Zenit to display a banner with the words “#EqualGame” and the UEFA logo on it in the same section of its Krestovsky Stadium.
The club has also been fined 10,000 euros ($11,760). Zenit topped their group to qualify for the last-16 of the Europa League, to be played early next year.
Mladic was found guilty of genocide by a U.N. war crimes tribunal the day before the match and sentenced to life in prison for his role in massacres and ethnic cleansing during Bosnia’s war.

Russian football thugs will be free to attack England fans- 11/12/2017
Source : https://luxoraleader.com/
Hundreds of Russian football thugs will be free to attack England fans as match bans are set to be lifted BEFORE the World Cup
Hundreds of notorious hooligans will be free to attack travelling England supporters at next year’s .
Some 391 football thugs were banned from attending matches following incidents before or after games in their country.
But they will now be able to attend matches next summer after a government blunder means their banning orders will expire before the first game on June 14.
The announcement comes after 14 England fans were hospitalised after they were attacked by Russian fans in Marseille during their match in June.
According to , 204 of the 391 hooligans who were barred from attending matches will be able to go to the whole tournament.
A further 10 will see their restrictions removed just days later and will be allowed to attend matches in the later stages of the World Cup.
A Moscow-based source told the newspaper: ‘The hooligans were given bans deemed to match their offences.
‘But authorities don’t seem to have considered Russia’s hosting the World Cup and they’ll be free to go to games. It’s not deliberate, it seems an oversight.’
According to the newspaper, those who will be able to attend the games include Andrei Volkov, 23, who was banned after a flare ignited on a train.
He could be joined by 22-year-old Maskim Tauran, who was banned after he launched a blazing shirt into a stand in a stadium.
In March, Russian ultras warned England supporters they could be killed if violence breaks out during the competition next year.
Two England fans were left in a coma after the ugly scenes in the South of France earlier this year and Russian fans have promised a repeat of the violence.
President Vladimir Putin has said that the World Cup will be safe for all fans.
However, one thug, who leads Zenit St Petersburg’s Landscrona mob, warned: ‘You think it was bad in France – wait until Russia.’
Anne Gray’s 48-year-old son Stewart, an engineer, was attacked in Marseille and was left suffering with brain damage.
She has urged England fans to stay at home next summer and her son, who supports Leicester City, was left in a coma.
The 73-year-old told the newspaper: ‘I’ve no faith in the Russian authorities being able to keep foreign fans safe.
‘My advice is not to go – the hooligans are out of control. No England fan will be safe there. If people think it can’t happen to them, they’re wrong.’

Football riot interrupts AEL-Apoel match
A football game in Limassol was interrupted for close to two hours on Monday evening after clashes between rival fans, which followed the injury of a ball boy by a firecracker.
The game between Limassol’s AEL and Nicosia side Apoel was initially interrupted in the 39th minute after visiting fans hurled a fire cracker, which injured a ball boy. The score at the time was 0-0.
The youth, reportedly belonging to AEL’s under-15 football team, was rushed to hospital but his condition was not immediately known.
The injury was followed by a rain of fire crackers and missiles hurled by Apoel supporters onto the pitch forcing match official Demetris Mashias to interrupt the game and head for the dressing rooms.
The game restarted 30 minutes later but was almost immediately interrupted again when rival fans invaded the ground and clashed on the track behind the south goal for a few minutes amid a cloud of smoke from flares.
They dispersed after riot police intervened.
Mashias and the players returned to the dressing rooms for a second time with everyone expecting that it would be abandoned.
However, after over an hour, the game restarted, with most fans having already left. The final score remained 0-0.

One arrest, stadium damage in aftermath of hooligan clashes
Police have arrested a 17-year-old male for possession of a knife following Monday night’s clashes at a first division football match in Limassol that caused the fixture’s interruption for close to two hours.
On Tuesday the Tsirion stadium, where local team AEL and Nicosia side Apoel eventually played out a goalless draw, resembled a battleground with rocks, pieces of glass and concrete, glass alcohol bottles, flares, firecrackers and other objects strewn on the track that surrounds the field where rival fans clashed.
Toilets were destroyed and plastic seats set on fire on both stands, wire mesh glass windows were smashed with blood droplets revealing the perpetrators were injured in their effort to break it.
Stadium authorities said fans broke pieces off the concrete terraces and hurled them onto the ground.
Tsirion officials said the cost of the damage to the ground had not yet been estimated.
It all started in the 39th minute when Apoel fans, who occupied the west stand, hurled a firecracker which injured a 14-year-old ball boy who fell to the ground.
He was rushed to hospital where preliminary examinations did not find anything. The boy was referred to an ear, nose and throat specialist for further tests.
The game was interrupted for around 20 minutes, with referee Demetris Mashias and the players heading to the dressing rooms.
When it restarted, AEL fans started throwing flares and other objects and then clashed with APOEL supporters on the track behind the south goal.
Riot police intervened to disperse the fighting fans, as match officials and players headed for the dressing rooms for the second time.
Mashias decided after around an hour to go on with the fixture whose remaining 45 minutes were played before empty stands after the majority of fans departed thinking it would be abandoned.
During the departure, police arrested the 17-year-old for possession of a knife and rioting. He was expected to be brought before a court later Tuesday.
A 54-year-old who jumped off a wall in a bid to escape the trouble broke his left ankle.
Police said three patrol cars and four other vehicles were damaged during the trouble and a shop window was smashed.
Justice Minister Ionas Nicolaou described the affair as a disgrace and spoke of people who just go to football games to create trouble.
He also took a shot at main opposition Akel, which has been fighting against the introduction of a fan card that authorities expected to help curb hooliganism.
“Since 2014, the government has proposed a package of measures to tackle violence and certain people, even today, do not want enforcement of these measures in their entirety,” he said.
As long as fans cannot be identified, as the fan card is designed to do, mob rule will continue, he said.
“Let everyone consider their responsibility. The CFA should review the measures and reflect. Fan movement should not be allowed. What we saw yesterday was a disgrace.”
Police deflected criticism over the ease with which fans carried flares and other dangerous objects through the entrances.
Spokesman Andreas Angelides said stewards were responsible for checking for such objects but the force was concerned about the matter.
So far this year 41 fans have been banned from attending fixtures but more needed to be done and not just by the police, Angelides said
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Apoel condemned the violence, urging the football association, clubs, and the state to put the necessary measures in place to save the sport.
“In other countries, they have found the solutions to get rid of violence. Why can’t we do the same on an island of one million inhabitants?”
The club said it will discuss the incident during a board meeting on Wednesday in an effort to identify what actions it could take to tackle the problem.
“What remains is one more black page. Surely we cannot erase it but at least let it be the last one,” the club said.

A MASS brawl between supporters of Belgrade rivals Red Star and Partizan resulted in 17 people suffering injuries.

One photographer said the fight was between rival groups of Partizan fans.

Blood was streaming down the face of one supporter as police frog-marched them away, and he looks like he will need a stitch or two to sort out his wounds.

Partizan fans fight each other in brutal Belgrade derby with Red Star that leaves 17 injured
Police in Serbia have arrested 26 people after a massive fan brawl during a soccer match between Belgrade rivals Red Star and Partizan that left at least 20 people injured.
Police said Thursday that foreign nationals are among those who were detained after Wednesday’s match, which ended 1-1. Local media said six Croats, one Greek and one Bulgarian are among the arrested.
Croatia’s foreign ministry said that one of the Croats has been hospitalized in Belgrade with serious injuries.
The appearance of Croats at a stadium in Serbia is highly unusual because of strained relations between the two former Yugoslav nations since their war in the 1990s.
The brawl erupted between two rival Partizan fan groups. Several people suffered head injuries and burns from torches. Some fans were stripped naked before being kicked out of the stands as riot police intervened with batons.
Clashes between Partizan and Red Star fans have been common for one of the world’s most intense football rivalries.

Jain Richter-Gemer remains on Merseyside where he continues to be treated for severe head injuries suffered on Wood Street last month.
