Superliga match between FC Midtjylland and Silkeborg IF evolved into an embarrassing affair for FCM fans.
After the game on Sunday afternoon 60-70 Silkeborg fans were accompany with police to the train station.
Many family men with children.
But at Vejlevej street, a group of 35-40 FCM hooligans attacked them.
The young hooligans, at least one had taken tooth protectors, tossed among others with bottles and the police had to pull rods and call in reinforcements to keep them appart.
Two additional police patrols were called, but only managed to arrest a few of the aggressive hooligans.
- We were too few police officers to reach to take them all, says police commissioner Jeppe James Olsen.
There tends not to be trouble in connection with FCM's battles against the SIF, but Sunday's episode will have the police to re-evaluate whether to several police officers present at the two teams' matches to come.
The violent episode resulted in 10 arrests, as well as two charges of violation of fireworks law.
In addition, police have identified a single hooligan who have not yet been charged.
The aim is mainly that they did not comply with police requests to leave.
The suspects, who were all in their early 20s or under 20 years, will also quarantined for future football games.
- It's hooligans. Someone who takes football to find the violent confrontation. There is not much football over it, says Jeppe James Olsen.
