Sweden: AIK Stockholm - Malmö FF - 17/07/2016

Source : Instagram

Stressfull day for Malmö in Stockholm yesterday. Both their opponents AIK and Hammarby (who played at home as well) were out in big numbers and tried to attack the guests from Skåne. First attempt came from AIKs ultras, followed by the hools and ultras of Hammarby and finally from the AIK hooligans. Police were well prepared though and shattered the attackers which prevented most violence.

Already on Saturday evening it happened things when supporters drove around looking for trouble. Small clashes with Hammarby, AIK and Malmö fans have been reported.

Source : http://www.brusselstimes.com/

Sudpresse reported on Tuesday (19 Juli) that 28 Belgian fans were arrested in France during the European Football Championship. The figures were given by interior minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) in a reply to member of parliament Katja Gabriëls (Open VLD ).

"From the start of the European Championship on 30 June, 28 Belgian nationals were arrested in France, including 26 in cities where the Belgian team was not playing and therefore our police wasn’t present there," said the minister.

Four arrests were related to violence against a police officer in Lille (a Belgian has been sentenced), eleven arrests in Lens for possession of pyrotechnics and two for possession of narcotics.

Many Belgians were arrested for drug possession and public intoxication in Nice and Lens.

Finally, near the Stade de France, four Belgians were arrested for receiving stolen tickets and one for possession of narcotics.

Israël: Israel announces arrest of 56 far-right football fans - 26/07/2016

Source : http://www.i24news.tv/

The members of "La Familia" were arrested on suspicion of violence and smuggling of weapons
Israel has arrested 56 members of La Familia, a group of far-right football fans of the Beitar Jerusalem team over violence and weapon smuggling, the police said on Tuesday.

"The arrests, carried out overnight Monday to Tuesday, were decided after acts of violence were committed by members of La Familia across the country," the police said in a statement.

The ultra-nationalist Jewish members of La Familia, believed to number several hundred, are known for their racist, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim sentiments.

The Jerusalem stadium where their club plays is dubbed "Hell" over its climate of hostility towards visiting teams and their supporters, with the police often deploying reinforcements during matches to try to prevent violence.

The arrested supporters were accused of "taking part in serious acts of violence, weapon smuggling and entering stadiums with forbidden pyrotechnical devices", the police said, adding they were detained after they received information from an informant in the far-right group.

Around 400 policemen and border guards took part in the arrests, which could continue in the coming days, the police added.

Beitar Jerusalem is the only club in the Israeli league that has never had an Arab player.

In 2013, some Beitar supporters were angered by the signing of two Muslim players from Chechnya, forcing the team to hire bodyguards to protect them.

Club offices were later hit by arson that destroyed all the trophies won by the team.

Violence flared after United's pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town in Cleethorpes on Saturday, with a police officer suffering a head injury and suspected broken ankle after bottles were hurled at him during the trouble.

hocked holidaymakers, some with children, fled as fans began throwing bottles and had running battles with baton-wielding police officers.

The other two have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Four of the six arrested were Sheffield United fans.

Humberside Police said more arrests are expected More arrests are expected, warning that the force will 'come down hard on offenders' and seek football banning orders for those involved.

Match commander, Superintendent David Hall, said: “Cleethorpes was exceptionally busy this weekend with families holidaying and enjoying the weather.

“As with all big matches, officers were brought on duty early to assist in the policing operation for the pre-season friendly match at Blundell Park between Grimsby Town and Sheffield United.

“No offences were reported before the game but a number of people, both Grimsby Town and Sheffield United supporters, were involved in disorder after the match.

“Two police officers received injuries, with missiles being thrown towards officers.

“Quite frankly this sort of behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

"Football matches should be friendly sporting events that families can attend and enjoy. We will not allow the minority of people to spoil such occasions and will continue to work with the football clubs in our area to tackle the thugs intent on committing violence and disruption."

Businesses in Cleethorpes said they had been left counting the cost of the violence between rival football fans.

Some amusement arcades dropped their shutters as fans went on the rampage.

And Cal Campbell, deputy manager of The Fiddler, estimated his takings were down £1,500, claiming people avoided the town after the trouble.

Anyone with information should call Humberside Police om 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Football hooligans pelt each other with stones on a level crossing after Grimsby Town v Sheffield United match - 24/07/2016

Source : https://www.thesun.co.uk

A shocking video shows hooligans pelting each other with stones in a violent confrontation after Grimsby Town played Sheffield United.

It was one of a number of mass gatherings of fans in Cleethorpes on Saturday, which left a police officer with a suspected broken ankle and a head wound.

The video, taken from a property nearby, shows hundreds of people running along the seafront before violence breaks out.

Fans are seen gathering on a level crossing and throwing rocks at another group before fist fights break out.

Police had to move in to try to break up the rival fans and push them back from the railway tracks.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “As with all big matches, Humberside Police had a match commander and numerous additional patrols brought in to police and safeguard both the home and away fans separately.”

“Pre and post-match mass fan assemblies across the town proved testing at times, with numerous confrontations occurring and one police officer sustaining an injury to the head and possibly a fractured ankle after bottles were thrown towards him, showed professionalism throughout.

“Despite the pressure put on the officers to ensure the fans and seaside-goers had a safe and enjoyable experience today in Cleethorpes, officers worked extremely hard and liaised closely with Grimsby Town FC and licensees to ensure practical and constructive efforts were put in place.”

In total six people were arrested for offences including serious assault, affray and public order.

Sheffield United won the match 3-1.

Aston Villa fans pepper-sprayed by French police after Nantes friendly

Season 16/17 - July - Page 2 315343fcna

A handful of Aston Villa fans were pepper-sprayed by police after last night’s friendly with FC Nantes.

It’s thought around five or six heavily-intoxicated supporters were targeted by the French officers after persistent pleas to vacate a certain section of the stadium.

Other Villa fans nearby were also thought to have been caught up in the action and were pepper-sprayed, too.

Following the trouble in the country during Euro 2016, police adopted a zero-tolerance policy and were keen to move on the small minority of fans who had been drinking throughout the day.

It should be noted that there were no incidents of violence recorded and that the rest of the 250 travelling supporters behaved themselves and represented the club in a positive light.

Police have made a string of arrests on Slovenian football fans who visited Aberdeen for a European football clash.

It is understood a fight broke out in the early hours of the morning between rival supporters.

Officers swooped in on Aberdeen’s Holiday Inn, on Chapel Street, this morning to detain a group of individuals for alleged violence.

Aberdeen FC drew 1-1 with Slovenian club, Maribor FC, at Pittodrie during Thursday night’s Europa League clash.

Four police vans and three cars were spotted outside the Holiday Inn this morning as officers raided rooms of the Slovenian supporters.

Match commander Chief Inspector Nick Topping said: “I can confirm that a number of people are currently detained following a minor disturbance in the early hours of this morning involving some individuals who we believe are football fans from both clubs.

“This was a contained and isolated incident which posed no threat to any other members of the community, and no one was seriously injured. In saying this I cannot stress how disappointed I am that a small minority chose to conduct themselves in a disorderly manner. There were no reports of any anti-social behaviour leading up to the match last night, during the match and in the immediate aftermath, and I would like to thank all those fans who attended and acted responsibly and enjoyed the game.

“Anti-social behaviour in any shape or form will not be tolerated. There is no place for disorderly behaviour in our towns and cities and I can assure you it will be robustly dealt with.

“I would like to reassure the public that our officers will continue to take positive action to target individuals who engage in anti-social or disorderly behaviour and bring them before the courts.”

An Aberdeen FC spokesman said only about 20 Maribor fans made it to the game at Pittodrie and they were “very well behaved” and absolutely no trouble.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed that three males have been charged so far in relation to the incident.

German Court Sentences Russian Hooligans - 29/07/2016

Source : https://themoscowtimes.com/

A court in Cologne has sentenced four Russian football hooligans who attacked Spanish tourists in the German city, the Deutsche Welle news agency reported Friday.

One defendant received a suspended sentence of 12 months, while three others received 10-month suspended sentences. The fifth Russian implicated in the case claimed he witnessed the fight but did not take part. He will be sentenced separately on Aug. 17, Deutsche Welle reported.

In mid-June, five Russians were involved in an attack on three Spanish tourists, including one woman, who were handing out anti-fascist stickers near Cologne’s main train station. Two of the Spanish tourists were badly injured, with one suffering a broken nose.

Police later learned that the five Russians had attended matches at the European Football Championships in France and had been in Marseille, where violence broke out before and during the match between Russia and England on June 11.

According to the prosecutor, the attack was politically motivated, more closely linked to right-wing radicalization than football.

“I hope the [the defendants] return to Russia soon,” the judge said, Deutsche Welle reported.
