fans involved in mass brawl at Rotherham train station
Police trying to identify fans of Rotherham United and Derby County after a fight at Rotherham railway station have release images of the men.
The brawl broke out on platform 2 at about 6.30pm on Saturday, March 12.
A British Transport Police spokesman said about 30 Derby fans were shouting back and forth with a group of Rotherham supporters on the opposite platform.
A few members of the group then ran across the tracks and there was a fight between about 10 people.
British Transport Police Officers have released images of 10 men, believed to be Derby County and Rotherham United fans, they want to speak to.
DC Ian Grice, investigating officer, said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the men in the images or who was at Rotherham station on Saturday March 12 who witnessed the incident.
“This type of violent behaviour is completely unacceptable and must have been extremely distressing and unpleasant for other passengers at the station.

Riot police use water cannon on the streets of Brussels: 'Peace' march organised in wake of terror attacks is hijacked by far-right protesters making Nazi salutes - 27/03/2016
Source : www.dailymail.co.uk
Riot police have descended on the centre of Brussels today after up to a thousand far-right protesters hijacked a peace march in the Belgian capital.
They gathered at Place de la Bourse in Brussels this afternoon and unfurled a banner denouncing ISIS before police used a water cannon on the angry crowd.
Protesters calling themselves 'The Nation' were seen making Nazi salutes as they became embroiled in a heated argument with pro-migrant groups.
The chaotic scenes unfolded at the site of a memorial for the victims of the terror attacks in Brussels on Tuesday which claimed the lives of 31 people.
Belgians were planning to gather today in solidarity and defiance in central Brussels to remember victims of the country's worst-ever terror attacks.
In a bid to allow police to devote all their resources to tracking down the Islamic State cell linked to Tuesday's Brussels attacks and the November carnage in Paris, officials asked organisers to postpone an Easter Sunday march.
public broadcaster RTBF said up to 1,000 hooligans wearing black shirts had arrived in the square this afternoon.
There are reports that scuffles have broken out between the two groups and that some of the floral tributes left at the scene have been trampled.
Eyewitnesses say some of those who were there to pay their respects have been left in tears and begging with the men, dressed in black, to leave the scene.
According to NBC News, a group that was previously occupying the square shouted back: 'We are all the children of immigrants' and 'Fascists here, we don't want you!'
At least one of the far-right protesters was seen being taken into custody, with scores of police present backed up by their massive blue and white water cannon trucks. But there were reports this afternoon that about ten far-right hooligans had been arrested.
'This is our home' and 'The state, Daesh accomplice,' the hooligans shouted in unison, using an alternate term for the ISIS that claimed Tuesday's suicide bombings.
As well as the Belgian riot squad, plainclothes police officers with batons were also called in to break up the demonstration.
Scores of people were gathered around the mass of flowers, candles and messages that have been left in front of the ornate former Brussels stock exchange which has been draped in flags and messages of support and sympathy.
'We are football hooligans, we don't have anything to do with politics,' said Andres, one of the demonstrators. 'We are here for the victims and to pay our respects.'
Adrian Liston, who was present at the vigil, told the BBC that the memorial had been disrupted by a 'bunch of skinheads' who had turned up 'in force'.
'They marched into the square and started a major confrontation with the peace protesters,' he added.
'At this point they were really starting to get in the face of the peace protesters, the face of the police, setting off flares, setting off fireworks, and chanting stuff that was really quite ugly.'
Prime Minister Charles Michel condemned the demonstrations. 'It is highly inappropriate that protesters have disrupted the peaceful reflection at the Bourse (stock exchange). I strongly condemn these disturbances,' he said according to Belga news agency.
The mayor of Brussels, Yvan Mayeur, described the crowd as scoundrels and said they had come into Brussels from other towns, in particular Antwerp.
'I am appalled at what has happened, to see that such scoundrels come here to provoke people at their place of homage,' he said.

Bus load of 60 Wrexham fans turned away from Grimsby by police
A coach load of Wrexham fans were sent back home before they could reach Blundell Park for Saturday's match with Grimsby Town.
It is understood the bus was stopped at a service station on the A180 having journeyed from North Wales, but were sent back just an hour before kick off.
The Mariners won the match against the in-form Dragons 1-0 thanks to an early Craig Disley goal.
The coach, which had roughly 60 fans on board, was stopped at about 2pm by police, reported the North Wales Daily Post.
It was held for around 45 minutes before the decision was made that they could go no further.
One fan said: "Honestly we didn't do a single thing wrong and no banning orders. We complied with them just to be...sent home."
Another supporter tweeted: "Absolute joke mate, no one is wanted (by officers), no one is banned, just a joke!"
Names and addresses of fans on the bus were taken by police, according to reports.
The bus was not officially registered with Wrexham AFC as a bus for away fans, reported the North Wales Daily Post.
Neither Wrexham FC or Humberside Police have yet made any comment on the matter.

England : Stop treating football fans like second-class citzens - 29/03/2016
Source : http://www.spiked-online.com/
Discriminatory laws are ruining the beautiful game.
Football fans are second-class citizens under UK law. There are nine football-specific crimes, stemming from 11 pieces of legislation, which affect what supporters can say; where they can go and when; and what and where they can drink. What would be considered minor misbehaviour in any other context can land football fans with a criminal record if it happens in or around a football ground.
These special laws have created a culture of hostility towards football fans among the police, stewards and football clubs themselves. This has allowed discriminatory, unjustified and unnecessary interventions by the authorities. At no other sports grounds would you find routine filming of law-abiding fans, body searching on entry or the presence of police dogs.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has even created a special low bar in the prosecution guidelines specifically for misbehaving football fans. It states: ‘Although of course each case will depend on its own facts, once the evidential test has been passed, the director of public prosecutions has decided that for offences which are prima facie football related, there will be a strong presumption in favour of prosecution.’ The guidelines go on to say that ‘“Simple Cautions” or “Penalty notices for disorder” will hardly ever be appropriate for football-related offences’.
These restrictions are entirely needless. Behaviour that causes actual harm and genuinely threatens the public is already covered by existing laws, such as those penalising drunk and disorderly behaviour. To commit an alcohol-related offence at a football match, you merely need to be drinking within sight of the pitch, or trying to enter the ground when someone in authority deems you to be drunk. Judging by the state of many of the spectators at your average Test match, Lord’s would always be half empty if they banned those who were slightly drunk or worse.
So-called offensive chanting at football matches is also illegal. This is despite the fact that even the most offensive football chants today are little more than pantomime This kneejerk legislation means you could face a stiffer punishment for harmlessly goading the opposition than verbally abusing an individual on the street. What’s more, rushing the pitch is no longer just a matter of breaking ground regulations, it’s a criminal offence.
The criminalisation of football fans spreads a great deal further than the match itself. It is illegal for fans to drink alcohol on coaches travelling to games, or at motorway service stations unless taken with a full meal (whatever that might be). It is common for train companies to designate whole trains as ‘dry’, meaning no one, not just the travelling football supporters, is allowed to take alcohol onboard or buy it on the train.
This culture of hostility has led to football clubs sharing information with the police and banning on the basis of little evidence. If you’ve never been to a football match you could be forgiven for thinking that the authorities were tackling a serious crime wave. But, in fact, football-related arrests are 40 per cent lower than four years ago.
In all, 38million spectators attended major domestic and international football matches in England and Wales last season, but there were just 1,873 football-related arrests. Out of those arrests, only 356 were for violent conduct. This is not football hooliganism. Most incidents are isolated, concern relatively few people, and are similar to those found all over the country on any given Saturday night.
On Easter Saturday, England played Germany in Berlin. Around 2,000 football supporters across England and Wales had to surrender their passports to the police ahead of that game. This is because they are each subject to a Football Banning Order (FBO). The minimum time a banning order can be imposed for is three years, but it can stay in place for up to 10 years.
Prosecutors are also able to apply for a ‘civil’ banning order following little more than a ‘complaint’ by the police. Even people accused and then acquitted of an offence, or who have simply been pushed on to the pitch during a goal celebration, have found themselves banned.
Football fans must be treated as members of the public, not as problems to be dealt with. It’s time to start repealing these petty laws.

England : 17 arrested over pub brawl between rival football fans - 19/03/2016
Source : http://home.bt.com/
Seventeen men have been arrested after a fight between rival football fans in a pub.
Supporters of Nottingham Forest and Notts County clashed at the Major Oak pub on Pelham Street in Nottingham city centre on Saturday March 19.
Officers are looking into the possibility the fight was pre-arranged, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Both sides had lost their games that day, with Forest going down to their East Midlands rivals Derby County 1-0, while Notts County were beaten 4-1 by Exeter City.
The 11 Forest supporters and six County fans are males aged between 19 and 28.
They were arrested on Tuesday morning at addresses in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and are currently in custody, the force added.
Chief Superintendent Mark Holland said: "This is a very significant operation as we investigate the circumstances of a very disturbing violent incident allegedly involving rival groups of so-called football supporters in Nottingham.
"This incident occurred in a pub that was busy with people who were there to enjoy a night out and suddenly found themselves in the midst of a terrifying situation such as this."
