At the end of the game, Korona Kielce players offered their shirts to their fans but local stewards did not agree with that and supporters were "assaulted" by them so the Korona goalkeeper, Zbigniew Malkowski, became angry and intervened.

For that game, troubles opposed Metz supporters to police forces. Three policemen, including one plainted-clothes one who wanted to arrest one fan who thrown a firecracker in their direction, were attacked by the mob. They were punched. One 30 years old supporter from Liège (Belgium) was arrested. When they tried to enter the stadium, when they were checked, supporters caused troubles with stewards so police intervened and one home-made bomb was thrown. Two supporters, 20 and 34 years old, were arrested.

Masked Metz supporters firstly tried to confront their Nancy arch-rivals. Firstly they waited their rivals in front of their stand without success because police intervened with tear gas. Then, Nancy supporters thrown missiles at locals and one steward was seriously wounded at his head. Then, only after 2 minutes of play of this derby, the game was stopped because one Metz player, who tried to kick a corner kick, was targeted by a detonator thrown from Nancy side. Other missiles followed. Troubles continued during 2nd half and the game was stopped for the 2nd time but did not re-started this time.
